While it may be commonly known that Lineage II has been P2W since it went to the free to play model, I don't think people fully understand just how bad it is. Or what the terms mean. There are plenty of P2W games on the market, PC, mobile, etc. With this business model you can purchase huge advantages, bonus stats, progress faster, and many other benefits. However, lets compare BDO a P2W vs Lineage II. What you can do in BDO is excessively grind, life skill etc and you will be able dominate in PVE and other factors. PVP is still an issue, but the core game is playable. You will progress slower, but you will not face the same issues as a game like Lineage II. Designed to Fail Everything in the entire game is locked down to ensure customers fail miserably without paying. It's not an issue of convenience, PVP, or Sieges. It's an issue of locking down the entire game to ensure the systems will always fail. Examples: *** HP/MP Regen rates highly based upon damage output (Thus you can't even sustain mana properly due to low dmg output). *** Blue Mobs (Level differential) forcing advancement whether you are prepared or want to proceed. *** Massive and unwarranted increases in mob stats with no justification other than to preventing natural game play The solution I'm not even going to ask for these things to be changed. None of these where by chance, they where intentionally crafted this way. I would rather just inform anyone reading the posts of the tactics being used and the difference between P2W and just pure scam. It's a shame too, because Lineage II is one of the few IDLE games on the market with this much content. It's actually quite unique.

Hello @Sunshine, I would like to report a bug with the pet system, which is causing a huge waste of time. "To get a pet you need to hunt for Atingo. He is around 75lvl and spawns in the Tower of Insolence, Orc Barracks, Dragon Valley and Plains of the Lizardmans." ~ @Karmeligullo https://forums.lineage2.com/topic/22489-how-to-get-a-pet/?tab=comments#comment-154321 The first two times I've ever tried to kill Atingo, he summoned a Hawk, and 10 minutes later, I killed him again and he spawned a Strider. I was surprised of how easy it was, because nobody was there and I could get for my 2 accounts, one was lvl 73 and the other was lvl 62. THE BUG Now that I have my pet, I wanted to help other to have theirs. After that, about a 9 days ago, I've been killing Atingo every day, at least 20 times a day, I've killed him over 130 times and guess what, NO PET AT ALL. Once I got tired, my friend keep going on and then, suddenly Atingo spawned a WOLF!!! He killed it and... NO NECKACE. I was devastated because I though it was 100% chance of drop WHEN he spawns the PET. IF that is not the case, please, help me out, I need to understand what are the chances of drop after the chances of spawn, that's insane. THE BUG 2,3,4 As I am already wrinting a post, I will let you know that I realized that the Atingo spawn time is around 6 minutes. I though it should be 1h or so, with more chances of drop. Another thing, I SAW he spawning at two, tree places AT ONCE! Yes, I had to let multiple accounts logged in in every place he spawns so I could know where he is and I could see him in multiple places at the same time, but for a shot period of time. After a one minute or less, he disapears from other places and stay in only one place. THAT IS WEIRD! Finally, Atingo follows you for ever, I tested it bringing him into the church of Oren, really inside the church, he stayed there, with almost no HP for at lease 20 minutes, then he disapeared. It's annoying when players take him far away and don't kill him, or even WORST, people get him AWAY and SELL FOR ADENA his location. That should not be able to do, because they're disturbing the pet system. Atingo should RESET his HP just like everyother boss and mobs once they get far from the spawn point (AS WELL HIS PETS). Regulations will certainly help, but that won't resolve the main issue. Even if you removed all forms of gambling in Lineage II the structure is still designed to FORCE YOU TO FAIL unless you pay money. The regulation will just lead to companies using alternative methods to achieve the same results. The real issue needs to be fixed: People funding these business practices for petty personal gains which harm everyone. I was proud to purchase some products like Grim Dawn and many others for example. A more fair transaction where I feel my money is helping contribute to something good. People also fail to understand the business model. You DO NOT NEED to give ANY of these companies $100+ a month. If they are running the business correctly they should have SO MANY CUSTOMERS that $15 a month is more than enough.

No. Lineage II isn't even close to newer games like BDO and could not pull a market share like that. They could certainly have a lot more players, but an out dated game like just won't suffice. BDO actually beats down nearly every competitor, except it's P2W and lack of content ruins it. That's why Final Fantasy is instead becoming the industry leader. It's not the best combat game, but it's providing real content. Games like Ashes of Creation will likely be a top game either as it lacks a real sophisticated combat system. Also forgot *** Paying excessive amounts to use basic skills. I mean seriously, in many areas of the game you run negative income from playing. I can't decide if that's more pathetic or just sad.

Orc barracks is full of bots looking for Atingo. I have videos how character *** run over and over again doing exactly they same circuit everytime.

I just added up the cost of getting the rest of my third class change skills (not including lvl 4 buffs) It’s well over a billion adena. I want to put this in perspective, from prelude to C4 I played probably 12-16 hours a day and didn’t have a billion adena. I’m talking about years of farming not less than 6 weeks. Yeah, yeah different game really? My character doesn’t seem to have any different shading compared to my one on Live. Mobs don’t seem any different from the other versions, animations look the same as they did in C5, skills all do basically the same thing with different timers. So you’re telling it took you 15 years to make an auto hunt option on the game that it took programmer’s less than 2 weeks into Prelude to make and they did it better and to be quite honest from what I’ve been reading and have witnessed still are. I honestly thought you could play the game with the 30 day sayas, but there is no way you could break even with any toon that doesn’t have vr. And eventually their lvl becomes an issue because you will have to upgrade armor. There is no light at the end of the tunnel every level I hit I am more and more disappointed. I have literally spent more cash on this version of the game than I spent in 18 years on the original and I’m not even l33t. The pet system is garbage, you took a free quest item and made it freaking a random spawn, and a rare chance of obtaining. You decimated the dagger class. You made skills that are close to impossible to upgrade. You made an auto farm option that you can’t even manage your skill use time with. (From what I hear L2Walkers source code is open source you could probably learn some things) Adrenaline works on Aden I’ve seen YouTube videos of it. I haven’t seen a player banned or Clan and we all know the culprits. PlayNCW should be sued for false advertising, I actually saved my emails promoting this launch, all the hype you guys made is just that hype. Lineage 2 at one point had the best graphics (not anymore) had the best pvp (strike two) had good content (haven’t added anything worth noting that isn’t in Live) Nostalgia, got you six weeks of my time and $. If you guys were so hard up for cash nostalgia probably would have gotten you more money on a gofundme page then you will see from Aden. I’m so mad at myself for falling for your bull again. F2P really? How exactly can you play this game without soulshots, spirit ore? The attendance event was a scam if you didn’t offer that and the two free items from the store people would have noticed much sooner that even at the 200% grace it wasn’t sustainable. If NCSOFT ever launches the sequel to L2 I pray they use a company any company besides PlayNCW.
