Duelist is a strong class if you gear it up properly.
About books, not yet.
Next week we are getting all classes update BUT a few warriors.
Duelist & Polers are missing (already updated on korean servers)
Doombringer and Soulhounds got reworked last week.Just be patient untill next patch (eta 3-4 months) or reroll to something else while you wait. You will be able to class change soon, so you can play something else untill they rework duelist and you can switch back.
(Note: skill books and buffs books are lost when you switch from 1 class to another).

Jokes aside tho, point 7 and 8:
7. You can't blame NCWest as this is a "game-feature". The enchants are removed from raids even in korea and only available through a few events (few raids, solo raids and those boxes for adenas) and the Coins shop. It's not NCWest fault there.
8. The new dye system is super easy to understand, idk what you guys can't understand:
3 slots, each slot has a unique bonus that can be levelled with $. The unique bonus is unlocked only when the slot got a dye lv 1+.
You buy the Dye from the grocery which is level 0. You can level it up till 20. You need it level 3 to get +4 -0 as dye. To level up a dye you need "dye powders" that you can obtain by other breaking old dyes, some bosses or events that are not here yet. -

Primeval garden instance is 76+. Weekly reset and lasts 420 mins.
Primeval island is another instance 76+. You can enter one like you enter the other, no more, no less.

Your example is invalid as you are not using a proper "item" in the example.
In ur case, vegetables are something that everyone needs and wants. In this case, we can say that "vegetables = mobs".
In the example of the pets, tho, they are not a must have.So to make ur example correct, let's say you go into a Gucci store.
Having a Gucci bag is a MUST? No.
But if you have enough money and you want to buy one, you can go and buy.Now the pet is like a gucci bag: is it a must? No.
If you have enough money (in the case of the game, PVP power) then you can go and take it.I was thinking about a even more viable example but i can't think of any IRL activity that allows you to obtain things based on "brute force" only.

The day you guys will understand that nothing is going to change, you will stop wasting breath and time after it.
The PK system is not changing and wont be changing for a long time, there's no plan for at least the next 6 months.
Also, what's the difference with C4 penalty where you were dropping items if dying by mobs (even if white) and here where you drop items only if, eventually, killed in a PVP? (it's not a PK feature, it's a PVP feature, you have chance to drop even when dead in a normal pvp).
Oh yeah the difference is that you are able to gain back the item paying a lil fee instead of losing the item forever.

Both servers are PVE, there's no sides nor competition on BlackBird either.
As much as the TWO wants to brag about their amazing daily pvp, they just don't. When it comes down to the REAL DEAL (which is dimensional contents), they all hold hands together and fight vs Epidemics from Elcadia.
So it's pretty much pointless to brag about which server is better. One pick the server based on the GMT, it makes much more sense.

Yeah, you need the book to level up a few of those skills. Death guard is one of those. It asks for a second book (still level 1) to learn the level 2.

Is the pet "free for all"? Yes.

As i said above, Pets are "extras". You either have it for Bee Hive/PVP or it's no use. Cause a pet on a non-evolved stage is of no use, for any thing.
To make it worth something you have to make it AT LEAST 1st evolution, after 40+, and get it to lv 70+.Currently pet evo books are "farmed" from the clans that kill CC raids, mean that, currently, there's no market for it.
Your attitude is kinda toxic, gotta say, it'd be like me getting mad at people that still use the "fishing system"...why would i care? Is that a must? No.
Does that change anything on my gameplay? No.And again: we will have A LOT of pet events, you will go from having 0 pet to own all of them and trashing them into the bin cause you can't put the item into a WH, for some reason.

You can use STR STR STR if you want.
Dye powder can be found when disassembling old dyes or new dyes lv 1+.

You don't. Cause there's nothing such as a "tanky pet". Pets are not THAT strong to allow you to XP in places where you could not alone.
This option might available later on, with a pet lv 76+, last evolution, full geared, with pet jewels + pet weapon AND all pet skills.
IN THAT CASE then you are right. BUT in that case, where you own an end-game pet of this kind, there's nowhere you can't XP on ur own.
Pet is not making a huge difference in XP (kookaburra only with his AOE can help you a bit and allow you to AOE in Bee Hive) but can be helpfull in pvp (strider and hawk knock backs or buffalo aggro/stun).You guys are mistaking the new pets for what used to be XPing with an evolved wolf in pre-GOD...no, it's not THAT good at this point of the game.

About people selling the pets, is abusive, they just don't sell, is tjust the way they act to get it, they PK anyone who hits the boss, even when they arrived when boss was already almost dead, some people actually think they own the boss. It really cut off the experience of the game, i know a couple people who just stop hunting it because it was too dissapointing keep trying due those people. I woun't mind to lose the pet vs another person becauz he did more dps or last hit, but when they act like a bully, nope that need to be expelled from community, new players keep eneter the server and they will eventually need a pet too what will happen then?.You guys really need to stop wanting everything for free and easy peasy.
You are the reason why the game is going way too friendly and lost most of its "competitive" part.
About selling pets, problem is that a lot of people just scam.
Also for the "new players who needs a pet":
1) There will be lot of events giving away pets.
2) Fight for it. Stop asking for easy or free things. Pet is a must only for 2 things right now, one is hunting on Bee Hive and the other one is PVP. That's it.
Bee hive is not a must. And if you want a pet for PVP means you are also ready to PVP for the pet.

My friends de bow user has never hit a stun on me and that’s a pretty important skill for all the bows. Mages in Olympiad can turn the tide if they don’t have 2 afk’s on their team by debuffing the heck out of most classes. It was pretty much not about races, most likely about classes.
For example, i started in C4, last days, so let's say C5. Back then the best dagger was the TH cause he had Dash, making it able to catch up on targets and kill them. Let's not forget that daggers had huge dmg output but low defenses.The dark elfs always had the highest dmg due to their STR and skills (Hex, for example), which allowed them to be a problem, but all the dark elves are slow. Speed, atk spd and casting speed wise.
Archers right now are bad, as i said earlier, the guy is a meme but you can see that's there's a little issue when a lv 83 dies from a lv 79...especially when the lv 83 is full A grade and the 79 is C grade.
Same goes for mages...i never feared a mage. And i'm an SE, i'm basically a mage myself...but i'm way stronger than mages cause i've heals, debuffs and good buffs.
You can say they land debuffs and turn tides...i can tell you that you would have killed the titan w/o the mage. The nukers debuffs doesn't decrease the HP potion effects, means that worse case scenarios you can have them using DOTs like Ice dagger if SPS, poison if SPH and Inferno or w/e if Sorc...but i really doubt that's enough to burst a melissa user.People rerolling to daggers cause they've seen the update, which made Titans weaker pre-85 and made them weak against daggers with the Rage skill (which is a must due to the +40% p.atk...but also -30% resistance to daggers)...also Titans lost their immunity to debuffs from Frenzy and M.def boost in Guts.
On the other hand, daggers damage was boosted on frontstabs, while nerfing the backstab but w/e. As you know, the only reason to go backstab was Focus death +90% dmg from behind...but you were suffering a -30% dmg from front. Which was a huge nerf cause you could PROBABLY try and land 1 backstab once every 7 seconds, maybe.
Also Wind riders earned "critical damage" passive which is a HUGE boost to them...+ dodge skill, ggwp.But noobs like those guys from GreyLotus on Elcadia, which are basically nonfactors PVE-players, are just like the average L2 players: play the OP.
So now that titans got nerfed they all ran to reroll to daggers. In my case i had already SE+Dagger XPing as my main was always dagger, but they were bad and SE was just too huge for clan activities like PVPs. And then some people have the guts to tell me "eh you play dagger cause it's OP xdd", dude, i was Othell Ghost Hunter on awakening servers when we had 1 dmg skill only. With 1 skill working only on bleeding targets, the bleed skill with 20% land rate and the last dmg skill that could full lethal the target but had 30+ seconds delay.-

No one told you to keep leveling a toon you weren’t happy with, yet here we are. Even if I started a toon today It would be lvl 80 in 2 weeks with full grace and xp scrolls. I’ve been killed by great mages, but normally they are butter.
You want to talk about a point and click toon the whole DK class is like that Seriously they have less than 5 worthwhile skills and all seem to land no matter what their stats are compared to mine. I literally spent 30 secs being pulled from one to another during castle sieges, yet I’m not asking for a class change. If anything they should cap levels at 99 and start with subclasses this would be a better option. @Sunshinedo they plan on putting subclasses back in the games?
It's not about knowing how to play ur class, and you know that too well. Or you already forgot how much you got mad over ur PW when you were unable to even PVE correctly?
That's pretty much it. Some classes ARE under performing and doing really bad cause they have lower stats and old skills that just can't fit the new lineage 2 version.
Daggers now can step up a little more, once full skill they will be very strong, if not the best class for 1v1/small scale pvp. Again. But for the past 3-4 years daggers were just super bad. Ur only way to make a dagger worth playing was to OVER GEAR it with epics 2/3, dolls 2+, critical damage p2w items to top enchants (cloaks +7+, zircons 4+, pendants 3+) and to hit 90 STR, which is impossible untill really late game with levels 86/88++ and venir talisman +++++++. Any orc with the very same gear, even a lil less, would be performing 10 times better than a dagger. At least pre-rework.
And that's pretty much what happens with archers and nukers right now...they are outdated due to old skills and fuctions. I mean, the guy is terribad, but Waveride is a sagittarius lv 83 with full A grade and he gets clapped and dies from my GH level 79 with full C items. His dmg is not enough to burst my melissas.
No, there's no plan to bring back subs into the game, sadly. It'd be really cool tho but sadly it wont happen any time soon.

For those wondering:
Class change ticket will come, in the future. We are most likely to see it here on the next update when archers and mages will be reworked.
Having it now would be useless as server is what? 3 months? But mages and archers will be reworked in 3-4 months from now so it makes sense to have a class change ticket then.

according to what system says, i attacked other toons (probably who are purple? ) and gets purpled while afk, and there's a group of ppl who waited for me to be purpled and killed me. Fix this bug for god's sake. It's crazy annoying

Here, let me teach you how it works:
1) You have "any target" or "counter attack threat" option turned on.
2) The guy that makes you flag is into a clan that have "hostility" against ur clan. In this case, tank can use aggro on you and force you to flag. If the guy that makes you flag is into a clan which have "hostility" towards your clan, he can cast you ANY debuff. Even those who would not normally work on a non-flagged toon (sleep, root, aggression, to name a few).
If you are wondering what's an "hostile clan", that's when one clan declare "war" in this version of L2. Which is suuuper bs. The clan who have the hostility declared 99% of the time is unaware of it, missleading people to think that "player X" is PKing "player Y" without a reason, when in fact it's a "clan war". Oh, since the system is super bs, even if clans declare hostility to each other, killing a clan member would give you karma.

Not just that, the event was heavly bugged...we couldn't tell which time was correct, also, no button with a proper countdown was shown.
Not to mention that most of the players from both sides were not able to jump around the field cause the button with teleport was missing.
@Juji @Sunshine Please have the issue reported cause that was heavly affecting the gameplay during siege.

Cubics were removed cause effects were moved to other stuffs.
Self healings also are integrated or changed, for example: light elf warriors that had the Elven healing lost it cause now the skill "Recovery" heals. So 1 skill on light elfs got healing + bleed/slow/arrest removal effects.

It is a well known fact since ever, to be honest. BUT it's ok
If you wanna gain extra casting speed in top of that, go with BW light! It doesn't give you extra MPs but you gets +15% casting when wearing the 4-pieces set.

Changing your class will also change your appearence.
You go to the NPC that is located in giran or aden, then select ur race, class and then gender.
If you pick Death knight or Vanguard, you will forced to play a Male char as there's no female DK nor female Vanguard.
