  1. This is why I stopped playing this game last year.  It got too expensive to maintain a good level.  You should not have to max out credit cards in order to play a game.  Most of my old clannies left for the same reasons.  Events are a complete joke now, and holiday events one of the best parts of the game, not this "attendance reward".  NC has gone the way of the lunatic goose and focused only on profits, not the people that are actually providing the profits for them.

  2. This is what happens when people rush to endgame.  They've hit a wall and can't play anymore (clans locking down everything for max level).  Stomping their feet and taking it out on everyone else.  The PK system is broken.  Live you were attacked on sight if you tried to enter the town and were killed immediately by guards.  You dropped your gears if you were killed while red.  Only city you could go to was Floran Village.  Now you just have a few babies who PK the server because there is no penalty for it.  If you fight back they poof out of there to the safety of any city.  The game mirrors real life where there is no common decency or sense anymore.

Sad thing is you can't really call it harassment, since they're not targeting individuals.  They're going after EVERYONE who is AFK levelling.

As for all the AFK PK'ing, you can't say that you couldn't see that happening from a million miles away.  It's easy targeting with no penalty.  A VERY simple solution would be the buff that used to be on there where you couldn't get killed by people 10 levels over you.  Doesn't really help you after about a month of playing though.  People can cry carebear all they want, but it would keep the server population up.

  3. Good thing about Blackbird is there's a lot less jerks going around lower level zones and PK'ing everyone autolevelling.  Come back to find your toon's been dead for the last 8 hours.

If you want to race up to higher levels, it's going to cost you.   A lot.

  4. It's because the starter Aden weapons are class specific.  You get the weapons after your first class change.  Bladedancer and knight are in the same 1st tier tree, so you get a sword.  You don't NEED a dual sword to be an effective BD, up to 3rd tier there's only one skill that you need a dual for (poison blade dance).  They 'should' give you duals, considering after your second transfer you start getting dual masteries, but lower grade duals are pretty cheap.  Sucky part is you don't get the chance to super OE your weapons unless you want to stick with 1H weapon.  +10 Aden sword will out damage B grade duals.  Duals can be soulshot pits also.  You are not guaranteed to do the full damage (each sword is half your damage output, so you miss with one and you're only doing half damage).  Take that into consideration if you find yourself always short on shots.  Or you could invest in the newbie help thing that gives you C grade +4 armor and +8 B grade weapon of your choice (can't upgrade unless you want to run the risk of blowing it up).  Like I said though, you will outgrow that weapon and Aden one will be more powerful.  That should take you up to the point where you can afford better gears.  With your VR self buff you should be doing fine not needing any potions except for oh crap moments.  Like I said, you don't NEED them up to 3rd transfer.  You won't be able to afford the ton of books you need to buff a party up till waaaaay past 3rd transfer.

  5. Same thing happened on live server.  When the L2 shop came in and people started charging insane prices for real money items, it broke the economy.  Higher adena prices for L2 items, all the rest of the items (craftable) went up as well.  Well, it was that and RMT.  You will see the same thing happen here.  When people see a couple of for sale shops with a certain overinflated price, other shops will follow.  C2 prices for boss items were around a few hundred mil adena, then flew up to the billions.

  6. Sadly, there's only a few types of "PVP" in this era of the game.

    1.  Clans fighting each other (PVP)

    2.  Reds going around wiping everyone that's AFK farming

    3.  Reds going around wiping everyone that's under level/undergeared (griefing)

You can't play casual and be even considered for some good PVP, the top clans have locked down all raid bosses/events to get top gear and will smoke you for hitting even getting close to their raid.  Show up for raid with a party, you will all get wiped before the boss even shows.

So unless you're willing to dump some SERIOUS cash ingame, you won't be able to compete.

PVP in this game is just a shell of what it used to be.

  7. You want to fix the economy?  Get rid of random crafting.  Reinstate the dwarven crafting/spoiling that you guys destroyed a few chronicles ago.  Reinstate the materials to craft gear.  Get rid of Sayha/Vitality and go back to the core of the game.  Classic failed because of the same reasons, and Aden is going to follow suit because it's just a big money grab for NC.

  8. Great posts from all here.  I've been playing since before time (started on Gustin).  I log onto every new server type hoping there was going to be some resemblance of the game we all started on, and soon find that their promises of a "classic" experience were a total lie.  The only thing classic was the grind.  The skipping levels is stupid.  It takes away from the money that you 'would' have made and just gives you the xp/sp.  This game will dry up shortly after the "whales"  beach themselves beyond repair with credit card debt and they'll have nowhere near the income that they had at start, when the players spending ludicrous amounts of real world money can't pay it anymore.  They have to realize that the majority of players can't compete financially (I have no delusions of grandeur thinking that I could come close to being on a level playing field with someone dumping thousands or tens of thousands of dollars into a make believe character).  NC killed the most important part of the game, which is the gaming community.  You get more interaction in the forums that you do ingame, and that's sad.  Just for poops and giggles, I decided to walk from Gludin to Aden.  Was sad to see that the only spots on the maps with mobs were the parts where L2 tells you to level.  The rest of the world is absolutely dead.  Reminded me of when a server came up from maintenance and was waiting on the mob script to start firing up.  I can see why they made "f2p" and then added things like the vitality system so they could still make some money.  But the greed got the best of them because they saw how much people were willing to spend to level quickly (gotta love this generations "give me everything now" mentality) and they made it so you can barely level (while making no money because they nerfed the percentages into oblivion).  I totally agree that a game should not be 100% f2p, but come on.

What NC is basically doing is luring the people who used to play during beta/C1/C2 and LOVED it...now they're more financially stable with less time to play due to family/work/obligations and making them pay an obscene amount of money more (was 13 dollars/mo when I started) for a game that is 90% AFK hunting.  Fits into their schedule, right?  From a sane person, sounds  more like predatory behavior on NC's part.

  9. It's because NC burst the hypocritical bubble.  Starting off in prelude/C1, RMT was a bannable offense.  Anything more than the 13 dollars you spent a month was illegal and broke the EULA.  Now, RMT is the ONLY way to level up your toon.  They killed the classic experience by putting a pay shop in.  They killed the classic experience by putting that stupid afk autohunting button on there.  The holiday events (one of the most fun aspects of the game) they used to have was an awesome chance for starting out players to make money to buy gear.  Then they killed that by making the "events", and I'm loosely using this term, since it's absolutely NOTHING like the events that we had... only available to top level players.  This game used to be about the adventure and growing as a community (clans/alliances/or just meeting people from all over the world), now for impatient gamers it's a race to the finish.  It used to be if you wanted to level quickly, start a party and be a part of the community.  It used to punish bad behavior by making PK'ers drop stuff when they got killed (another fun aspect, seeing 20 people chase down a red to get their drops).  I was one that was truly excited when they released a classic server because I do miss the old days of grinding your butt off.  I was hoping that it was going to be a mirror image of that game I loved. Found out right away that turned into a big steaming pile.  There's a reason (a billion of them) why the server population is about a tenth of what it used to be, why there were 8 servers for live iirc.  People got sick of the cash grab that this game has turned into.  I know a lot of people that quit when the P2W shop was introduced, I was one of them.  I was happy being in the middle, just grinding away minding my own business, making friends, partying, and joining alliances.  Just as always, the people that are killing the game are the whales that spend thousands of dollars (or tens of thousands, which I can't even fathom, but whatever floats your boat) for the big pee pee flex.  The only thing that NC listened to was the population crying that there were too many bots.  Now, a good portion of the things that you acquire you can't sell/trade with the "imprint" system, and in effect, they made practically the whole server bots with AFK hunting (which also used to be a bannable offense...see the irony?  Only okay if we can make money off of it).  AFK hunt and come back and dump your credit card then go back AFK.

As for classes, I've always played a dwarf, so I'm used to never being FOTM.  Our only perk that we had was crafting/scavenging to make money to gear ourselves better than the others, and that got taken away from us also.  We were always the fat kid in gym that got picked last for teams except for clans that needed a crafter/scavenger for mats/gear and for golems in sieges.

In all, they made it pay to win because you're willing to pay, and they've basically told the community there's nothing you can do about it.

  10. This game died the minute they went free to play.  Anyone paying the insane prices to maintain are the reasons that NC thinks they can get away with it...because they can.  Look at the difference between when it was paid to now.  Back when I was on, any given day there were thousands upon thousands of people on the servers.  Now they're lucky if they get a couple hundred.  Wow, that F2P/P2W model they bought into really worked out well.  Bots running rampant, no control.  Basically turning players into bots is absolutely ludicrous.

  11. Very sad to say that coming to "Lineage 2 Classic", there's nothing classic about it.  I gave it a go since it came out  I would gladly warp back into the early 90's (started playing in Prelude) and pay the game fee, the $13/mo subscription, and have the game work the way that it was intended to run, with ingame events and not just L2 shop items that line their pockets.  The downward spiral was made VERY clear when they made it so you don't have to farm mobs/bosses for the highest grade items, just go on the L2 Store and buy them now!  The nerfed drop/spoil rate is not ok.  The material prices of zero are not ok.  Turning this game into one of the most expensive "FTP" games is not ok.  Taking shot crafting away from dwarves making them even more useless is absolutely not ok.  Breaking many of the classes with skills that don't work (esentially making bots/autohunters the only ones you see on the servers anymore) is going to hurt you.  I see that it is very obvious that this game is dying and they're just trying to squeeze out as much as they can from their playerbase before they close all the servers (would not be surprised if within a couple months Classic is down to one server).  I know that it's the population's fault for feeding their ego and dumping thousands of dollars into the virtual store.  The VIP scale is absolutely absurd to dump that much money into a game per month to get rates to what they "should have been" at launch to make a Classic feel.  End rant, and i apologize for getting off topic about this.  Cheers.

  12. It is normal, it is a known issue, and has been a known issue ever since Classic launched.  They boosted xp and adena drops, but keep on neglecting the spoil drops ever since about the spoil rate.  Thick skin, soldier!
