I started mine a week late, and it's currently lv 72 using a mage build. To help with the mana issues, I have steal essence + attack right-clicked, so I cast steal essence once, hit the mob with my staff once, lather rinse repeat.

You're right, these are "imprint" so cannot be traded. The free brooch has 1 slot, so you should be good. If you need more slots, you can buy a higher level brooch (either using nc/l2 coins or from players). I use a lv 4 brooch which gives me 4 slots for different jewels.

Very biased poll, too many options missing. I only use 2 personally, but I don't think my own preference should limit others.

If the toolbar is not using, try alt+L. If that doesn't work, click the item on your bar once, and try alt+L again.

Probably you have too many items in your inventory. Usually you need to get down to 80% or less items.

I got them to +1 for the extra m.def, but the real bonuses start higher up, and they can break going to +2 or more, so it'll be a big money sink once we have more income. Same with the Talismans.

Classic and Aden have a limit of 10 accounts, Live has a limit of 3 accounts. I would recommend reaching out to the support team to find out what happened.

Not sure what changed, but on my side the item lag appears to be completely gone, but asking around I get mixed results. It looks like some are still getting it. On the other hand, the rate of spamming hp pots seems to be much lower, so I wasn't able to survive vs mobs of my level. Come to think of it, if the price of the Special HP potions were higher (10x the hp, maybe 15x or 20x the cost, not 30k per potion), that'd probably make the game much more enjoyable, and reduce the item spam quite a lot with 1 easy change. Or make VR available to all classes. Edit: also not having c-grade armor at lv 73 would probably help too.

@Sunshine@Hime@Juji Item lag is back. Regular items is about a 5 second lag, L2 store and L2 Coin Store are about 1 minute before you get the confirmation and the item. It feels like what you did has improved things a bit, but still a way to go. After each reboot we're good for an hour or two before things start slowing down again.

Since most PCs can't run 10 boxes (my CPU runs at 85%+ with 3 clients if I turn down most graphics to minimum), reducing the # of boxes won't help as much as people think. If we look at L2 live where the limit is 3 boxes, you'll see many players having multiple computers so they can connect as many accounts as they want. I am confident that with the right tweaks to the cloud hardware, they can get this running smoothly without changing anything drastically. On the other hand, an event that rewards people extra drops + the related crafting is probably not the best at a time where the server is already struggling in processing items. @Sunshine In case this isn't on your radar yet, quests from the popup window (daily/weekly/etc.) are also being affected. My regular quests (kill 400 mobs + reach level x) I can't say since on 1 character I out-leveled those quests, and the other two have the required kills and just need the levels.

I bought it on my Sylph, and while her mp doesn't drain as quickly, it's still out of mana after a few minutes. I can't quantify how much mp / tick it's getting, but it takes at least a few minutes to go from empty to full mp. So it's definitely not a game changer, but I got it because every little bit helps.

I get it intermittently, maybe 2-3 times per day I die because potions are getting used up once every 5-10 seconds instead of multiple per second. Also I am noticing intermittent NPC lag, like purchasing from the L2Store took like 15-20 seconds before the confirmation popped up after clicking the purchase button. Same thing with opening some interfaces like the warehouse.

100s of us have been giving NCWest advise since 2004 with the following results: 90% gets ignored, 10% gets flipped around where if we ask for something to be increased, they lower it. If we ask for something to be reduced, they increase it. While the Moderators and other staff are doing a better job at being visible in the forum since the last few weeks, they have historically had very little to no say in what gets in the game. The game is made in Korean by Koreans, for Koreans, and it seems like every time Juji brought concerns from the community to their attention, he was met with "We had considered that initially, but decided otherwise. The game works as intended." There are threads in the L2 Live forum where the NCWest staff asked for our suggestions. There are 100s of posts filled with many great suggestions in each post. I don't know if they were able to even implement a single one of them. Anyways, that's why you're not seeing much support from the community. We've been there, we've made countless suggestions, and we've been ignored. Over. and Over. and Over. This is like going to your local McDonald's restaurant and telling the manager they've been doing it wrong. They should get out of the burger business and add tacos on the menu instead. While that sounds like a yummy suggestion, the local manager has no power on what McDonald's corporate does, all he can do is listen, nod, and smile, knowing that no matter how good the idea is, it will never see the light of day. Time will tell if the addition of new people like Sunshine will help things, but there's a VERY long history of NWest having the short end of the stick. Many of us have also seen THOUSANDS of good friends quitting clans we've been in through the years because the game became unplayable for them. It's only a question of a few months before L2 Aden becomes a barren wasteland where a few whales will battle it out.

I agree that free players only getting 5% of the drops will make this game unplayable for most players. It means that when they run out of soulshots/spirit ore/hp pots, they will have to either put in some money, or quit. I understand that some classes have it easier than others, but I had to drop my DK alt because he was costing me over 500k adena more per day than what he brought in, and that's with Sayha's Will. I had to replace him with a toon that is closer to breaking even. I think free players should get 100% adena drops, Sayha's will maybe 120%, and Sayha's grace 150%, something like that. At least make the game playable for everyone. On the flip side, I like that at least for now people who spend 100-200 a month can have some fun, though I'm sure you'll introduce plenty of gear to make us irrelevant soon.

Basically the button was hidden which is why resetting the UI with alt+L didn't work. Took me a while before I figured it out yesterday

Use alt+L to reset the interface, sometimes some of the windows get relocated out of reach. Use alt+L, if it doesn't work, click on the crafting button to make the crafting popup visible and use alt+L again.

I think many of us are waiting for the Einhassad store before making further purchases. The longer NCWest delays, the more player and revenue attrition they will see.

I remember when FFXIV was first released. It was one of the worst MMO flops, a toss up between them and Age of Conan. The FFXIV gameplay was bad, the economy was atrocious, people were quitting within hours of trying the game. Sounds familiar? That's how L2 currently is. Square-Enix didn't close down the game and mark it as a loss. They issued an apology, changed the lead developer, made drastic changes to the game, and released a game people enjoy. The result? 2.7m players per month, compared to 5.8k for L2 according to mmo-population. The base of L2 is at least as fun as any other MMO out there, and with the right leadership, we could also see millions of players. L2 can still be revived, and it can be made a top MMO, but it would require drastic changes. It would require making the game playable/enjoyable by the players. But with the way the current product management team is running things, the game will keep going downhill.

In terms of activity levels, I restarted playing my then 105 healer 4 weeks ago. It is now level 110, and ranked 1274th on Chronos (407th race, 32nd class). I think this gives a good idea on how very few people are left playing. I know not everyone plays their mains, but then again a LOT of players are playing multiple accounts, so that's really not too many active players. My 112 archer is 560th server rank, which is probably middle of the pack of those of us who came back a year ago. The attrition rate is heavy. More and more people are quitting, and more and more people are killing too slow to level up, even during an xp event, so I suspect it's only a matter of time until they throw in the towel.
