  1. I don't think anyone knows for sure because there have been no official statement. Over a year ago I did some experiments which had no conclusive results.
  2. "is it any good" is so broad of a question to be useless. The SWS can be good and it could be bad depending on your requirements. It solos decently with buffs and can pretend to be a tank when leveling up to a point. People are still playing in teams but is in your own self interest to be capable of running on your own. Parties are still a possibility as there are still real people leveling up so keep your eyes open on chat who you see. "key mats" aka specific recipes and blades/shafts/design/etc don't really sell until at least b grade. Generic mats such as varnish/stems/cokes/etc do still sell but for a fraction of what the NPC used to pay.
  3. The 1-39 starter pack is quite nice for newbies when combined with the quest rewards and dailies. The new player experience is much improved with that change. Very likely to convince a new player to shell out some $$ for the basic starter pack and such. If only the ROA botters weren't so greedy the new player experience would be damned good now.
  4. Wow people will complain about everything. You can get the buff again when you d/c die etc.
  5. Great another advantage granted to the botters and RMTers. Botting up PK ponies to keep others from leveling up is really paying off for them. I've spent the last half a year leveling in an area that was green light purple to me (using the old color system that was actually useful and not the current useless system which shows white when the mobs are blue or red). I leveled there because I couldn't afford shots on two dps let alone A grade gear. When I did try to do stuff appropriate for my level range I was either ganked by a pony or I died to the mobs as the macro/autohunt system cannot account for damage spikes etc that a bare bones bot would easily handle. Either way heading to proper areas for my level was a great way to lose days of work. So I started a second group dedicated to farming adena so I could try to get some A grade and other upgrades in the hopes that would allow me to farm appropriate mobs for my level. Even my main accounts have a secondary farm group for those times where I wanted to rage quit the game due to the terrible balance on my mains. My "nerd rage" stems from the realization I would of been better off just blowing the money on shots instead of A-grade armor for the tank and 3 main dps. Then I wouldn't be 30-50% short of the requirement for this huge performance improving talisman. One of those talismans is more of an improvement than the A gear for sure. Being so close to such a massive upgrade and knowing I'll never get it is "nerd rage" inducing. Combined with the anger over the terrible choices made in game design and balancing it's making it real hard for me to not just delete L2 completely and move on to a game that isn't so .... I completely understand why you don't want to hand this out to everyone hence the level requirement. I just wanted to to give feedback on how this effects one long time player. How much it sucks to be almost there after grinding from day one of the server's creation...
  6. Usually I can figure out why the developers make unpopular and "dumb" changes but that one is just beyond my ability to try to rationalize. From a gameplay perspective it's a damned important feature....
  7. Finally got some grind in on the mains and I've noticed a few things. The increase in adena drop means I can actually afford to use shots on my main DPS characters (BD/SWS/WC don't). I ended up having to create a new dwarf just to hold all the key mat junk that drops though. None of it is selling so I'm just going to see how much I can collect. XP gained rate is still abysmal but that's not terribly surprising. 50% XP boost isn't really noticeable. I cannot comment on the bosses as those are dominated by the small faction of whales and bot farmers. The PK changes are good but might require some minor adjustments time will tell. It's ridiculous how many level 76+ EMs floating around that were botted up being used for this. PKing used to be one of those fairly rare things you used to regulate others when you had no other option. Now it's a "I'm bored lets load up one of the 10 EMs I've botted up and go kill PCs like they are NPCs". Perma reds were a thing back in the day but most of them were just people rage quitting the game so they weren't nearly as common in my experience. I do have a massive gap in experience in the game between C5 and GOD though. The baium thing being level 80 definitely causes some nerd rage on my part...
  8. I've been here since day one of classic. Hell I've been here since closed beta for the original classic. I'm not 80 right now because of the botted up PKers and having lost quite a lot of XP trying level 80 content. So I'm going to miss out on this mostly thanks to the incompetent game balance that allowed EMs to run free PKing while mounted with the ability to teleport away anytime they were remotely threatened. Game "balance" that was so set on forcing people to throw thousands of real dollars at RNG that it made level 80 content hit stupid hard in A grade while not providing nearly enough in drops to pay for shot usage. Since I refuse to bot that means I've been at a disadvantage this whole time as a result... EDIT : Yeah I'm pretty bitter at this move as it's not likely I'll be 80 in time to benefit. I'm already mad braw about the last major "update" that ruined the UI and screwed up the game in general (which resulted in the last of my game friends quitting). These recent changes have tempted me back but I'm still just butthurt enough to be on the verge of quitting for good.
  9. I was just there this morning and it's so bad most of the spots have TWO elf casters spamming the near instant cast damage skill with the free shots. I ended up having to basically KS one of the two camps that had "normal" players that looked like they were afk auto hunting. Soon as I completed the quest I left. Between the near instant cast of the elf bots and their ability to target mobs before they even appear in the game client it's impossible for a real player to compete. Auto hunt targets and attacks far too slow to be of use there. Since loot is worthless there are giant piles of loot throughout the area. The place definitely lives up to it's name now....
  10. What are the levels of the characters in your party?
  11. @Hime Since you requested it I logged into the game today for the first time in a while. Went to see how the changes are and I was greeted by a party of EM PKers... One of them is now displaying on the map now at least... Not really hyped to try out the changes when I'm looking at ending hours of grinding in the negative XP wise.. Especially when the people behind it are risking absolutely nothing in the process.
  12. An upgrade to my spellsinger's weapon meant I needed higher grade shots than my WS was capable of crafting. The WS was on my main account so I used my SE and OL (tried zerk was mostly bad) accounts to support out of party. Started off small got addicted quickly resulting in ever increasing attempts at in game suicide. I still have the +4 Orcish Poleaxe I used for most of the leveling. For some reason it's SA is "death" now. The full plate I used is a bit lower in the warehouse. Screenshot of old gear
  13. Not sure when those screenshots were taken. Back in real classic aka old live servers I used to pole arm a lot in the cata/necros with huge trains. So not only were you getting far more adena per mob but you could also kill 20 or so at a time with a SOLO pole arm user. My warsmith got a lot of action that way as I pushed to higher and higher numbers of mobs per pull as a kind of "high score". Nothing was as satisfying as "landing" a huge pull properly so that your swings hit all the mobs. Crit stun on my pole and oldschool VR barely keeping me alive with some SE heals. The seven signs related drops allowed for even more profit as you could sell the ancient adena to the whales. Seven signs was an interesting aspect of the game and allowed for some shenanigans and more player related interactions.
  14. I earned money by having optimized parties that don't use shots (two full groups). If shots are being used it's as few of the characters as possible (usually one). Two tanks is not a good idea for a farming group composition. If you're actively playing a real dps with a BD and a healer would work far better. If you're going afk a destroyer with a healer and a WC does fairly well.
  15. WS has no real crafting use. You need recipes to craft and getting them is difficult. Whole sections of C grade gear recipes don't even drop anymore (some full plate stuff etc). NG gear is vendor bait. D grade is crystal bait. C grade is probably mostly crystal bait too now. Top B will sell but you need to get the recipes most of which haven't been sold in a public store in a month or longer. A grade prices are super cheap for sealed stuff because the cloth cost is the vast majority of the cost. I ditched my WS once I heard about the shot changes were being tested. BH has no real use as a spoiler because the few recipes that sell are hard to get and the vast majority of what you spoil is worthless. Better off giving that spot to a real DPS. My BH is 80 and still part of my main group. Although I'd rather have a warlock in it's place.. I haven't pole armed in a long time. My main party had a BH WL adn Destro so I used to pole arm a lot. I can't pole arm anymore because level 80+ mobs hit like a cement truck going 100 MPH into your face. A grade gear with minimal pay to win means I struggle sometimes even with single target attempts. It's so bad I rerolled the WL at 78.
  16. Whoever told you three is lying or clueless. The launcher itself allows you to save and launch up to five accounts. I was running 5 accounts per machine since the launcher change no problem.
  17. It's not a practical solution for a newbie player. It's a huge problem because the game is hemorrhaging players and the new player experience is so terrible it's outright turning people off from the game before they even experience the stuff you're talking about. On giran there is plenty of space available in ALL the catacombs and necropolises. I've already ranted plenty about the lack of castles, forts, and activities for 8x players that aren't in the one dominate clan/alliance. FP was a lot cheaper when components were available via drops. True newbies aren't going to be rocking 14m by the time they need an armor upgrade.. I'm quitting the game again because I'm tired of having nothing but grind for my 8x group. My secondary account group is reaching 80 and I don't have anything else to do other than get PKed and griefed by random "l337" players who spent thousands on l2store.. The lack of any response from the Devs to JuJi's questions leads me to believe classic in NA isn't going to be around for much longer. I can barely read your posts because your spelling and grammar are atrocious. It's like trying to decipher a puzzle. Are you using google translate or something? EDIT : In case you're wondering my main group was up to VIP 4 in the old system and the secondary group was up to VIP 2. I've been coasting off VIP since that terrible "update" that screwed everything up.
  18. That is just stupid. You're advocating for new players to create multiple accounts just so they can try to bot in an area that is already HEAVILY botted (and ruled by the bot's PK characters) for a week just so they can get armor to start leveling up the character they wanted to level up from the start. If you can't see what's wrong with that then you're part of the problem.
  19. Yes if you're rolling an alt it makes no sense but if you're an actual newbie to the game the price difference would cause a lot of sense to be potentially found. Even without being able to craft it a FP set is still less than half the price of BW or Doom.
  20. Well we've been waiting months for fixes to things that the last "update" broke. It's been a month and half since WODY's post outlining some of the problems and we've still got nothing back. If there's an actual classic team it's clear they don't even play the game.. I don't even think there's a dev team for classic anymore it's probably some live developers being pushed back and forth.
  21. Ncsoft is making bank off mobile games. Seriously their income with mobile games dwarfs everything else they do COMBINED. Not that they really cared prior to the explosion in mobile games. At least then they would somewhat throw us a bone occasionally... Frankly I'm amazed/horrified that the company has made it this far with their behaviour.
  22. I had the same problem with trying to move autohunt at first. I eventually figured out you can left click drag it on the very edge of the main circle. It's super unintuitive and just one example of how terrible the "new" UI is. Ncsoft makes far more money off their mobile division then everything else combined. So they only care about loot boxes and MTs.
  23. I should clarify that the event where auto hunt kept turning back on a second after I clicked it off only happened a couple times so it's EXTREMELY rare and might be server lag related. I live physically very close to the server so generally I don't have connection issues. @Onigami Heck I'm impressed you were able to afford S gear by the time you hit forge of gods. I used B gear until recently (80ish) because I couldn't even afford to get A grade gear.
  24. No I mean exactly what I said. That clicking off the client will cause the autohunt to turn off or on randomly (it's inconsistent). That clicking back onto the client will cause the same problem sometimes. I've seen this across 9 desktops and one laptop. So if I tab off a client to look at a web page my character using autohunt could simply stop or if it was stopped could start on it's own. I've managed to kill myself a few times with this. I've also had autohunt turn on/off without even leaving the client. I litterly have had to keep clicking it off because it just kept turning on for no reason. It's incredibly finicky. To clarify this isn't a consistent problem until it is a problem. What I mean is that I can tab out a lot with no issue then suddenly when I do have an issue I'll keep having issues randomly with that client until i close it and restart it. This only happens in clients where autohunt has been turned on at least once.
