So, I have a question that I hope some of you can try and help me understand. I want to understand better the logic behind PVP and wanting more of it. To level-set, I am a neutral kind of guy - no sides here. I am not a hardcore PVP dude, and to be honest, my PVP typically comes during sieges – where I am a non-factor-I suck. On the odd chance that I win, I don’t beat my chest even with all the excitement pumping through my veins. Yes, I can understand the excitement about PVP for some of you, especially when you have spent thousands to make your toon unkillable to 90% of the server. Ando, Brevant and others.
So here is my statement/question.
We all want PVP for the most part. I mean, it’s a PVP game, correct? I see so many people, usually those from the more prominent clans with tons of gear, shouting for more PVP at sieges, swords, etc. You know what I mean if you have played for 5 minutes. Let me give you a scenario.
Scenario: I am in a clan, and we participate in the siege, and soon after the siege ends, a war declaration is received. Why? Well, because we participated in the siege. As a result, of the war declaration, people leave the clan to jump in an alt clan so they can PVE level and enjoy other aspects of the game, etc. Mind you that 99% of the people who left the clan to go PVE don’t even have the gear to compete with people from NOVA, Mapagos, especially in 1v1 PVP. I mean, people like scoobz or Ikarigan (sp) could look at them, and the toon would die. To take it a step further, these whales are now hunting these people and go out of their way to flag, kill, bully and harass those players, aka macros. So why the hell would they ever want to participate in sieges or swords when you eliminate their ability to do anything in the game? I mean, you are driving away any desire for people to want to do the stuff that you whales scream and shout that you want more of. I can understand PVP, but people like NagnarX (a beast) will wipe a PVE party just because they participated in a siege or were part of a clan that participated in a siege. I want to understand the point. I got it if they run their mouth, then yes, back it up or shut up. Do you not want them to participate in the sieges or large-scale PVP events? I mean, this mentality kills the game. As for me, I don’t care; I am not $$ in on this game; I am just trying to understand the logic, looking forward to hearing from some of the big boys.
