  1. Thanks. That was more or less the point of my post -- that assigning a shelf life to the pots pretty much means that we must use them on NCSoft's schedule, not our own. It's kind of like the Anniversary gifts that get taken away, whether you use them or not. I don't see the harm in letting players keep them. They would have come in handy this week as I am now on vacation from work and I have time to level those characters. But, oh well, no point in whining over spilled milk. Time to find a better source of entertainment. Take care, everyone.
  2. That model worked for our generation of players. It doesn't work for the generations of players that came after us. That's the case when it comes to real life as well. Each generation works like hell to reduce the amount of time, effort and b/s that it takes to be successful/content now. Someone in the 1900s might be ok with waiting weeks to months for a letter to be sent from one state to the next. But eventually, inevitably, a new generation will come along that says, "F*** that, I want my message within seconds of the sender finishing their thought." Next thing you know, everyone has email. Progress isn't always about waiting for some long-term investment to mature. Not for everyone. That people even see this game as an investment is humorous on some levels, while disturbing on others. No one would ever say a cow is investing in the dairy industry. No, they're just there to get milked. L2 players are the chattel here -- or rather, their bank accounts are. The primary goal of the game isn't player satisfaction. It's to keep you in the milking stall , udders open and flowing. I'll end my Divekio-esque rant here: L2 history teaches us that it's counter intuitive to invest in L2 now for some hopeful pay-off months to years down the road. Ask any summoner or dead class about how that pay-off worked out for them.
  3. I just noticed that a few of my alts have over 400+ pots that will expire on July 7th. These alts are typically more difficult to level, so I wait for XP events to level them. They absolutely need the pots to hunt in the now much harder mob environment. Is it really necessary to remove them now that we have an XP event??? Now, if the plan is to give us a ton of other free pots on July 7th to replace these pots, then ignore this request. But somehow I don't think that's the case.
  4. Sly, slow your roll. OldSchool asked, "Actually I am interested to know is there any party instance that can be done but normal chars (full party) with gears maybe a little better than exalt gear?" I was simply responding to that, not trying to derail the thread.
  5. The daily IT quest that requires players to kill 150 mobs. Some of my clanmates told me that they weren't able to kill all 150 before the hour was up.
  6. At 105 with everyone in basic stuff? Only Abandon. At 107 or so, you might be able to do IT with a full party only in exalted gear. But don't be surprised if the timer runs out before you finish.
  7. We know the answer to that is "Not a chance in Hell." The truth is even when they told us we had good enchant odds they lied. Still, unless they're willing to change previously restored items to Bound status or something like that so people will already know that they've been restored, you can expect people to continue to get screwed when it comes to buying them. Sad to say, but I trust NCSoft more with game "facts" than I trust other players who say the item they're selling still at high price was never restored.
  8. They should remove token restoration in general, but improve the enchant odds of success. That's the fix.
  9. If people stopped buying, it would force NCSoft to figure out a different sales model. Maybe better, but maybe worse.
  10. He doesn't even have to wait until 116. Even at 110 you can tell the difference between a Stage 1 Dragon and a +27 Limited R110 weapon. My clan mate let me test out both a few months ago (when it was easier to kill mobs) and I could tell the difference.
  11. At this point I have an alt character that has no pots or vitality and is using mostly basic exalted gear with only ISS buffs. My only goal is to see if I can go from 106-107 in under a week without using any XP boosts of any kind other than those provided by equipment -- like Radiant circlet and such. End game goals? None. I'll probably quit in the next two weeks or so.
  12. No reason, really. Like I said, I was bored. But I do like hearing everyone's reasoning and thought process. It's also interesting to see what their perspective is based on their assumptions relative to their understanding of game logic/mechanics.
  13. Funny, but considering I've played since C1 when we paid for our time in game, I don't think that will happen.
  14. I'm bored. (This game really needs interesting quest content.) Might as well go AFK macro and pick everyone's brains in a game of "Would you rather?" Would you rather...? 1. Receive 5% more XP/SP/Adena per mob - Or - 2. Kill each mob 5% faster ... all other variables being equal?
  15. I have higher level gear, but my new clan mates don't. But I also have Prestige, full Blessed Exalted package, etc. Tested out some stuff to see what works, what doesn't. My clanmates are screwed. I died in that low level gear in the new instance very quickly. And that's with skill enchants, forgotten power level enchanted highly, etc. If I died quickly, there's no way new clan mates make it in normal exalted stuff without any other boosts other than pots. I had to use my usual setup, which is low-top end (or high mid-tier if you prefer). I feel bad for them, because it can be a fun game, but if you're just now starting to play it, you are going to pay much, much, much more than I did for the same equipment, because enchant rates are tougher and other essential stuff like la vie jewels and cloaks are hard to come by cheaply.
  16. I went to Neutral Zone, but couldn't find any open spot to hunt. Lots of area and plenty of useless mobs in DE and LE areas. Why not clear out those areas and add the new 107 mobs there, too? Stupid. I went to New Forest Instance. I died in 3-4 hits. All mobs are pink to me, so I question why put those mobs in that instance if it's supposed to be for 105? Again, more stupidity. But I guess the point is to get people who are 105-107 to sell a kidney before they can play this game. No point in continuing Prestige at this point. And the Blessed Exalted really pointless if you can't stay upright in it for longer than a few hits. It's no better than Eternal or regular Exalted from that standpoint. Pathetic. I could give suggestions on how to improve this game, but you already know what it takes. You're just doing the opposite because "mammon" isn't just an NPC. It's the god you worship.
  17. That's what I figured. I was hoping to give my new clannies some words of encouragement, but it looks like they're better off quitting. They can't afford $1,200 annually for a game. Or they'd rather spend that on something else.
  18. The problem is that mobs now practically require God jewels to kill anything efficiently. Lot of people in my clan are quitting because the game economy has really gotten out of hand and NCSoft isn't doing anything to rectify it for fear of breaking an economy that is already broken.
  19. Human nature is the most broken thing about this game. There are some good people, but for most part the player base sucks.
  20. Winner. But rumor has it we only have restoration system now because past GMs played favorites and were restoring weapons and items for elite players BEFORE there was such a thing as restoration policy. No one else was getting this favorable treatment. If they remove restoration for all, do we run risk of elite players once again getting favors that no one else gets? Knowing what I know about current GMs, my heart says no risk. But knowing what I know about human nature and business, my head tells me the risk is always there.
  21. Safe bet has always been not to test your luck. If they wake up one morning and decide to draw a hard line to enforce literal EULA, you get banned. It's kind of like driving at 75 mph like everyone else, even though posted speed limit is 65. If highway patrol decide that day they enforce letter of law, zero tolerance, you get a ticket. Only a nice judge lets you off without paying it. And there aren't many nice judges when the county needs the money.
  22. By basic, I mean all exalted armor, cloak and weapons, Paulina jewelry , only an Atlas earring (not enchanted), and items you get strictly from in-game quests. No artifacts, Zodiac agathions or anything that you get from promotions/events. No enchanted skills. Really basic in every sense. Where can this person reasonably hunt solo? Where can this person hunt in groups with any person with same level of equipment? Can they do any of the daily party instances, including the new one?
  23. If you aren't too high a level, just re-roll. It could be 2022 by the time we get another Red Libra, and 2032 when they decide to offer the Stone of Destiny again.
