A release of Lineage 2 Mobile is still far away. At the moment initial testing is scheduled for the 3rd month of the Korean summer this year (올해 말), i.e. August:

(the first question-answer block)

Please note, Chief Financial Officer Yun Jae-su said this in February, and he mentioned a whole series of games (Aion Tempest, Project TL ...). In the middle of May there should be another quarterly earnings conference. Possibly a new, more game-specific schedule will be revealed then :)

This morning Korea time there was the quarterly earnings conference. Yun Jae-su says now that more information about Lineage 2 Mobile will be published in the second half of this year, a rough testing and release schedule will be revealed in the first half of next year:

Not quite :)

NCsoft is indeed working on a cross-platform approach. Like for example Project TL [The Lineage], the game formerly known as Lineage Eternal, was planned to be released for PC and mobile devices. But the technical and graphic differences turned out to be too big. The current approach is to have on the one hand games which work on PCs and consoles, because those two platforms have a similar concept with operating system, big screen etc. Mobile games, on the other hand, are now kept in a separate category. Yun Jae-su explains this in the 4th question/answer block from the bottom in the Inven article I have linked above.

So for logging into Chronos you will still need a PC. Depending on how much NCsoft is willing to invest, you might also be able to use your Playstation or Xbox in multiplayer mode to access your traditional Lineage 2 server (at present they talk only about new games, not redesigning the old ones). Lineage 2 Mobile will be separate, with its own servers that are accessed by smartphone.

What is already live in Korea is the Lineage 2 Assist app, which allows you to check your Auction House sales etc. via smartphone - the Auction House on Chronos - but you can't actually play the game with that app:

Whether we ever get this at NCWest is a question Neutron must answer :P

Interestingly enough the Korean players are coming to the same conclusion. Check the 3rd set of Excel graphics here:
http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=199175&site=lineage2

As you can see, the gross revenue from mobile games has dropped from 551 million US dollars in the 3rd fiscal quarter 2017 (Lineage 2 Revolution hitting the market) via 327 million in the 4th quarter 2017 to 264 million dollars in the first quarter 2018. In other words, as of March 31, the revenue from mobile games is only one half of what it was last autumn, and that's with the recent launch of Lineage [1] M in Taiwan having been quite a success, driving up the revenue from royalties by 41% quarter-over-quarter.

When you scroll down the page to the comments (below the pictures with links to other Inven articles), you will notice that there is an enormous amount of aggression against NCsoft over Lineage M, mostly over disabling player-to-player trades and forcing people to purchase Blue Diamonds for real money to be able to use the Auction House, provided they are not underage:

What should really worry the management is that the disappointed players don't return to the original PC-based Lineage 1. When you scroll back up again to the game-specific graphics, you can see that the revenue from the original Lineage [1] keeps dropping. This is reflected in the NCsoft stock price:
