Unannounced Launcher Update

Hi,

@Juji@Hime May we know why there was a Launcher Update? What has changed?

I have been talking with various people and they noticed that some of them used to do 350M in IOS after the update their damage suddenly decreased and they are only farming 300M now.

Other people have noticed that they used to do "solo" IT during 10 minutes.

Since the update it takes them 15 minutes.

Some other people have noticed a damage decrease in Ketra/Varka since the update.

I am not going to debate the YUL AOE nerf, but some people noticed also that the single target skills have been affected since the update that you launched, not the update from Wednesday but the one that came after.

May we get some indications please?

First of all, we deserve to know why they are making unannounced changes to characters.
While I do agree that some characters deserve a nerf, I would also like to know why they make changes to characters which are not announced.

Secondly, I didn't get any changes for my part, just posting multiple feedback I have gotten.

Third, it is still a forum, freedom of speech and respect.

Forth, at the moment you pay a service or purchase an item through the L2Store in order to improve your character, you deserve an explanation if something is not working as intended since you officially became a customer for the company.

Fifth, making changes to your character that was not like before, is the same as buying an item and it suddenly became broken through a software update and therefore they need to fix it or restore it to a state where it used to work correctly or provide compensation, which in our case they didn't.

It is truly free indeed, so no questions asked as long you do not pay, they don't have to give you any information.
Example: You buy an iPhone 12 and the screen has a green tint (OLED) on it which was not present at the beginning, you have your right to ask why this happens and ask for compensation.

Example 2: I purchase an item in the L2 Store at a given moment which improves my character by a stat X. Tomorrow, they change the character stats, the item that you purchase does not have the same benefit anymore since your overall stats have been decreased on purpose by the company.

This is called planned obsolescence. You might want to look up what happened to Apple and their lawsuits.

Therefore, the item does not work as efficient as it was before and the customer has not been notified by the changes.

I just call for fairness and transparency from NC.

I am happy with the game, but doing unannounced changes which affects a portion of the players playtime is not fairness.

This people forgot to say for you that finish weed

Now my expirence - im not feel any changes.

Just "some lag"

But its normal when making this kind of stupid events "want revard - log 20 acc". And yes people log 10-20-30 - and try to get 2-3 r-gemstone per day.

Im not have bot to count - how much acc now stay in cyti. But its aprox 2000.

I count fishers - 950 acc. Some people fishing withs 30-50 acc.

So ~3000 acc loged for nothing...

Resume - more acc loged on - more lag, less dmg = less adena.

And its just admins file - just make event from 107.. and no problems.

I've also heard the same from a few people. I was going to test my dmg today as a dagger to see if any dif. I just updated launcher this morning.

Personally don't notice any difference but I didn't have to shut down my game clients so just wondering if was just an updater related update since (I'm just guessing) if changes were made to affect gameplay all the game clients need to be shutdown before anything could be updated. Oh well....

I've had the same issue last weekend. I got d/c on saturday. When i relogged there was an update. After that update it took me 15 min to do IT instead of 10. And IOS my adena gain was 50 mil less than usual. 

I talked to other players and it seemed i was the only one with this issue. I sent a ticket and the GM's replied all was working normally.

Yesterday after the launcher update everything went back to normal.

Really guys? Ninja Launcher update just to lower your dmg/adena? Nothing more to say

I did not close anything and didn't update. I woke up today to 3 dc'd clients and me being forced to update the launcher.

The update states you may or may not have to close the game client to update. At some point though, it seems like they forced people to update by dc'ing them. At least it appears that way in my case, I very rarely ever dc.

 

 

Also, still testing my dmg/xp/adena changes. Will update later tonight

Lol guys, stop this nonsense, ofc they didn't change anything that could possibly lower your damage or adena income through a CLIENT SIDE update. All those changes happen at SERVER SIDE.

Conspiracy theories.....

Launcher update has no impact on the client, which in itself is not related to your stats or anything.

The server files are that matters and those to be updated, you need to take the game server offline.

Javascript vs PHP there you go for your difference.

Perhaps you want Ajax, NODE.JS?

Just giving feedback as multiple people have noticed the same issues.

Maybe the update from Launcher to another version made a new synchronization between client & server data exchanges or another security layer between both.

At the moment the launcher is updating it might do a file modification on the client.

Perhaps next time, I'll reverse engineer the modified files to see what content has been changed.
