Random Crafting: Let's Improve It

Recommended Posts

As my character approaches level 80, I notice that I still get lots of D and C grade Imprint weapons, armor and accessories as part of my random craft selection. Why?

I also notice that I get lots of Imprint items that don't even pertain to my class. Again, why?  And why does it cost me 300k to risk getting items that I don't need/can't use/can't sell????

Seriously, folks, let's reimagine that Random Craft feature so that it works better for players. Only items appropriate to the user's level and character class should be offered as Imprint. All other weapons, armors, accessories should be re-sellable and not just recyclable through Charging -- which, by the way, also should NOT cost a player anything to do.

Lastly, 1  Craft Point should give us multiple rolls in the slot machine. Too often I get possible win items that I do not want and cannot use back to back to back. No one walks up to a slot machine and puts a coin in without first knowing what prizes are available. No one buys a lottery ticket without first knowing what cash awards are available. Hell, no one even walks into an arcade and puts a token in one of those big ass glass prize machines without first being able to see what prizes are available. Random crafting should be no different. If that means that it's harder for players to earn a Craft Point, so be it. But at least you'd make it worth the effort and players will actually get something that they can use.

1000 Pet Feed will get you 1 craft point if anyone is lazy and has adena to burn. But, yes, Random Craft is exactly that: Random. It's not very smart or intelligent. In a way, it's like a tease. So it's like going to a Casino and a Strip Club at the same time. :D

Only I can save 3 agrade items and have 1 up, and wind up with hp pots…

Random craft is an adena sink, and it's like playing on a slanted table.  With a magnet in it.  Crafting should be left to the dwarves.  Probably the single most stupid and asinine thing that NC has ever done was get rid of crafting.

Maybe Imprint items would be  tolerable if there was some way to make them whole, tradeable, sellable items. But as it stands, the concept, not to mention the cost involved with random crafting, just turns me off in a major way. Hopefully, they rethink the concept...but I doubt it.

Notice the word "Random" crafting. Of course, it will give you random stuff.....

You're missing the point.

Say you are level 82 and I reach into a bag full of S-Grade weapons and throw a handful of them on the table for you to pick one, is that any less random? No, of course not. You'd be happy with that.

But if I first told you to give me money, only after which point do I reach into that same bag and pull out a bunch of No Grade armor parts, then told you to pay quite a bit more to win one of those useless items, would you be as thrilled about the proposition? No, of course you wouldn't. You'd look at me with scorn and curse me and the horse that I rode in on...and you'd be right for doing so.

True enough, you don't have to ride every ride at the amusement park, but it sure would be nice to hop on one of the main rides and not be disappointed.

the random craft is also for your collection which is a VERY important part of your gear, unlike the Live servers, which require 10's of thousands of dollars, on Aden you can get "drop only" items from the regular crafting, even if you are a heavy user and you get "dc light gloves" there is a good chance that you can fit them in the collection. Also at 80+ the transcendence dungeon drops more craft points.

I bet you are also thinking, I hit 61, I need A grade or I will not be able to do anything! right? L2 whether it is Live, classic or Aden, is a MARATHON! not a sprint, sure some players will get faster there but there is so much gear that you need which you cannot get overnight.

I really cant make you see things they way they are simply because everyone has his own mindset on how things should be done. The simplest way is to find how to get the most out of something when you have no power over it.

In the near future of our updates, Essence (our Aden) will get some rework regarding the Random Crafting System.

A lot of countries are getting restrictions on cases, packs and other RNG included systems, so I get your frustration, everyone should see their prizes.

Regarding the updates:

As the time goes on, less people will need lower grade items, which will have a lesser chance to appear in the system, thereby more people will be getting higher grade items. Also, they have already changed up a few things in our version of the game. Korean version of Essence didn't include even the B-grade armor exchange tickets at launch, which we got, and quite a few are obtained every day I assume. So there's a lot of balance changes in the future that will be implemented as the time goes by.

I admire your optimism, but given the stewardship thus far, I don't have much faith anymore.
