Don't know if it's still required in the new version of the zone, but long ago you also had to hit Tiat with some quest item at *exactly* half HP point or face a MUCH more difficult remainder of the raid. People need Istina, Ekimus, Tauti, Octavis for exalted, that's why they do it. L2 is not much about doing things just for fun (like trying new hunting zones and make different quests).
