XanaksEU
Hi all, I have started recently on the Giran server. I will update my progress here and answer questions for the new players since we are going through the same things. I encourage everyone to join and post their progress update so we create a strong sense of community for newbies on the server, and people will not shy away from joining
XanaksEU
Sharing my observations on day 3: - Though the community is small, it is very active, and there are A FEW people very friendly towards the newbies. Advice: Find an active clan with Discord - PK Wars: The classic version on both servers has those wars happening, and it affects new players A LOT! This is the moment you understand if this is the right version for you. Do read the description: https://www.lineage2.com/en-us/classic It mentions - the HARDCORE version of the game. More "boomer" game style, not consistent with the snowflake mentality. You would survive and enjoy this version if you are GRIND LORD with no emotions and an Excel spreadsheet ready to record your exp, adena per 10/30/60 mins. OR you find people to chill and play with and will farm together and give 0 fs for PKs since chatting with people and doing just fun stuff like exping your toons//farming collections//books at level 40 while chatting discord and sharing memes. It is difficult for NCSoft to make the PK system more friendly for the newbies because they want to prevent multi-computer/software-enabled farms where people launched 100s of summoners for daily auto grind. So your cries will only disgrace yourself rather than make any real change. - Find your spot and chill. There is no insta-progress in this game since Classic implies you play longer term with fewer "dungeons" and pve spots to ease your grind. - Multibox: Classis is multi-box, and you might find it more difficult to survive as a solo box player. You would have to come with friends who would play a certain class (support/dd) so you do not exp your own dd/support or watch out for new players and see if they are happy to play together. (The difficulty with it is there not a lot of people on a monthly basis 1) coming to the server 2) staying on the server after a few days 3) fitting the desired class you need)
XanaksEU
Exp progress update: Due to many free exp items and consumables (amzn prime, promos), the best way to exp is: Do quest line until 40 class transfer Exp some basic buff for your character (WC or OL or PP + SE/EE) Use dragon fruit, elixirs and all exp items and go straight to Cruma 3 - decent exping I did lvl 65 so far with 3 supports. Planning to expand with 3 more supports on the way. It will bring my group to 7 characters. Best way to get money for a newbie is exp characters until lvl 40, roll the 2nd class books which are in demand and sell via toon in Giran. Easy adena. For a new player going through the full set of quests is the best way due to the items and consumables that are thrown at you. I like your little diary here and I wish you luck with continuing it. An experienced player with a good blunt weapon and at least B grade heavy can go straight to Cruma3 after finishing the quest that sends you to Gludio. I straight up leveled an elf summoner from level 15-56 with a two handed +7 tuning fork and unenchanted BW heavy. I of course used full consumes (storm scrolls buff from the GK for the ROA quest) and shots with auto hunt set to melee. From character creation till 40 took me about 30 minutes.
