Q: What is the leveling experience like on the Classic server?
The leveling pace of Lineage II Classic will feel significantly slower than that of the Live servers, and characters will begin to cap out at Level 70. The item drop penalty on death from the original version of the game won’t be coming back, but an XP penalty still exists at 4% loss per death. The five starting zones (Levels 1–19) will launch with additional Monsters and increased respawn rates to account for the initial rush through the lower levels

@Juji

Please keep the letter written. It was the main reason why me and my friends bought a chronicle pack.
I played on server where a lot of people stopped playing because the evil players used it. I think you would have lost a lot of people. Thank you.

I agree. Where is the fun in being stunned by players while fighting mobs for only for them to pick up your hard earned gear. People quit the game if they are unlucky. If I want to play the roulette with my time and money I'll go to a casino. Penalty on death (exp) is ok but it's not ok to gamble with your +10 weapon you just put all your adena into. Especially, when people just grief eachother to exploit the system and have mobs kill you to drop the gear.

Are you so bloody helpless and clueless like the clan thay traded their items to a fake clan leader that you dont know how to stop this, engage it or avoid it?

Since when did MMOs becane the babysitters of the clueless, vulnerable victims of the world who need kid gloves on to survive just one aspect of a video game?

Theres plenty of games that cater to you with soul bound items, instanced raiding and a general lack of adventure and risk and reward.

Go play one of them.

5 people complain about Macro's and you put a request to remove it.  There's been over 7 threads on death drop and you ignore it.

How about adding death drop back in or clearing up if it's removed completely, or only for whites?

At what point are we all just playing a really strung out, unfunctional, less than stellar version of World Of Warcraft?  Cause if that's the case now, may as well pack in all the unique features of what separates this from the pve' huggin' MMO's and we can all move on.

Who the f uses the word spam?  Are you 200 years old?

Jesus christ no wonder you want kid gloves in an MMO I bet even the characters you make have arthritis.

Its quite clear what everyone doesnt understand and if you dont, maybe you should get your prescription glasses the next your grandkids can drive you to the optometrist.

Ive seen what you people who cant hack it do to good video games.

Oh sorry. I must not be speaking old timey shakespearian for you old man.

It kind of reminds me of my grandpa before we euthanized him.  Anything that was right and he didnt understand he'd pretend not to to understand.  He understood the needle alright.

No they did not.  Thanks.

Yeah, they did.  Here:  https://forums.lineage2.com/topic/2767-classic-launch-faq/

Thus the reason for this entire thread.

Anyway, funny to see you here again. What's next, GMB gonna show up, too?  ;)

BTW, for those who did not play with or against him back in the day (I did both), there is a reason his nick says TROLL...  For whatever reason this guy seems to absolutely LIVE to troll people, insult, etc.  It was his M.O. 10+ years ago and apparently still is :P   So, as some have already figured out, unless you also enjoy that it is best to just ignore him.  There simply is no reasoning with a (the?) pure troll.

Are you guys done sayin' bullshit? Thanks.
So, you guys are the kind of players who goes like "daaamn reintroduce that 'cause that was the real deal with the game!" but then, if some high level bleep come to kill you, for fun, and make you die and drop ur items, you will go and jump off a cliff.
L2 classic will try to give you a fresh feel of nostalgia, not a fresh smell of crap. The fact you're gonna lose 4% it's quite an heavy penalty already if you die...go figure if by any chance you drop an item for a glitch or 'cause you had to go afk like 2 secs and a mob raped you or anything like that. Imagine if we had this same penalty on live servers where you may drop 500-600+ euros of gear with just 1 item.
No one will go for raids and no one will try to play solo 'cause they may be afraid of some tards coming and stunlock them for no reason.
The whole point of classic is going back to farm mobs as hard as you can and kill urself trying to achieve 1 more level or that set/weapon that you need. Enjoying any little bit of progress you make into the server.
It's not annoing a random player who's happily farming while minding his own damn business.
But just in case they decide to reintroduce the drop on mobs, be sure to tell us ur in game nicks so we can stunlock ur ass as soon as we see you out of town. Let's make the word KOS a really bad word again.

Drop on death is only for the PVE if you have a white nick

Only drop on death I support is from Chaotic character drops and items in your inventory should a mob kill you. Equipped items should not drop for white named players. If it does I will make a Dwarf or a dagger and train people and fake death til it changes like people did to me back then.

This is why what they've told us is incomplete and not clear.  The drop on death from the "original game" won't be coming back.  So what will be coming back and in what form?  Is it like Euro servers?  Has it been completely removed?

I really wish they'd just swoop in and clear this shit up.

Yea kind of felt like all I do is log in, do couple instances off CD and log out.

I do struggle with Classic class choice though, I feel like I have to have a prophet, but it probably will be even less useful than in the old times especially a casual one! :D

@Nya c2 prophet is useless, they added mystic immunity as a compensatory effect, but its a minor buff.  Keep in mind, few updates down the road will have Kamaels.

I will likely play a warcryer, and you know how good they are.  SWS also has a lot of the same elements as a PP as far as its party role, I would recommend that too.  Some of my favorite pvps were vs soulhounds playing bd/sws/wc.  Not fun on PP.

in my opinion, drop on death or loop macros had to go, having both together creates a huge problem of legit botting, as well as making real botting harder to identify.

They chose the easier of the two options - removing loop was the "softer" choice than drop on death, I am pretty sure they knew they had to do at least one of them to keep a healthy server.  Just looking at it from NC's perspective.
