Kilplix
So i heard lots of things about this Net neutrality but i have some questions. If its voted since servers physically are in the US do they get affected by this? Eu and other regions players will be able to play normally also? Thanx
R48817
If Net neutrality is not maintained it should only affect $$ Paid Advertising $$ services like Net Flix vs. Crackle or YouTube vs. DailyMotion... possibly Retail sites like eBay vs. Amazon(Your ISP would optimize your connection to whichever service offered the biggest kickback and throttle any competitor's sevice) It's highly unlikely to affect individual games but possibly it could eventually affect game services like XBOX Live vs. Play Station Network. All sites and services can be affected if you're in the USA as net neutrality stops ISPs from throttling any data while demanding MORE money to restore speeds. With net neutrality having been struck down in the USA that means your ISP could decide they don't like how you're using bandwidth for games and so they can legally slow down all your gaming related packets. A while back Comcast was busted for slowing down netflix, hulu and youtube to make their own streaming service more desirable. Since there are so few ISP's to choose from (most of the USA has one maybe two choice) that means a few individuals could wield great control over what people in the USA have access to. Not really sure how it'll affect those outside the states as the goal of striking down net neutrality was so ISPs in the USA could double and triple dip on charges for the same bandwidth. ChuckSteak
It means, a few people get to determine WHAT pops up on your search bar, and how well other sites and connections work for you. Hope NCsoft has their blackmail money ready, lol I doubt it. Just USA continuing to degrade into a POS country that is a full out oligarchy at this point (Harvard study, not me).
