This L2 classic feels easier than expacted...

To all the ignorant people making sweeping generalizations about how easy the game is after 20 levels I implore you to review the Skelth xp curve posted above by @ephy. Hitting level 20 was never difficult and I played a freaking Paladin in c2.......  There is nothing about grinding without soulshots that makes the l2 experience better or more genuine. Soulshots were readily available back in the day and with the actual 1x adena rate they were more than affordable. Lineage 2 is infamous for its grind heavy experience and the idiots at NCSOFT literally decided that it would make sense to make the game 10x harder this time around. Stop blaspheming about the genuine "old school hardcore feeling". So long as the server is not 1x it is inherently disingenuous. I predict that the majority of you will be crying on the forums by the time you reach 60 (generous estimate imo) as this is the equivalent of hitting 76 on retail in Interlude. Good Luck with that.

Nah it's just you ppl can't see past your experience in the first week of old L2...I played back then too, I remember scraping adena off the ground for a ship ticket and using 1 soulshot per mob because I couldn't afford them. But that was when I was like level 10-18. Then I did my class change quest and started grinding and earning Adena. By late 20s I was using banana set and low D duals and wedging a guitar pick in my F1 for soulshots, by 36 or so I bought top D duals, in mid 40s I had Karmian, by 50 I had dual katanas.

 

Everyone expects to be a grade behind in gear, and no one is complaining about that what we didn't expect was to be given free NG stuff and then be kept adena starved where even at level 30 or 40 it cost more money to grind with soulshots than you earn back. And you're not gonna convince me that people at level 40 were smacking mobs without SS in OBT/Prelude/C1/C2. That didn't happen, there are videos on youtube of ppl grinding back then in parties and they're all spamming shots.

I swear once all you noobs who think everything is OK get past level 25 and run out of your adena and soulshot quests you'll finally realize.

What I really enjoy is the hard farming & making friends. I dont feel there is 10x harder when there is buff scrolls anyway . If people complaining about this server is not 1x whyyyy are they even playing a game that they cry & complain about everyday ? go and look for other server that is 1x or 10x or 1000x make you happy ??

And talk about "xp curve" , "heavy grinding exp" . should play Lineage 1 @  year 1998

You are completely delusional. 

5k an hour. 

50k in 10 hours.

100k in 20 hours.

200k in 40 hours.

There was NEVER a point in the game where you had to grind for 40 hours to make 200k adena. 

level 20 mobs are dropping 22-40 adena. It's absolutely broken.

@Oreoloveboss believe me  i also smacking mobs with SS in the old days & not a grade behind but skipping Bgrade for Agrade craft materials.  All i am saying is play smart and enjoy . At lv25 no SS? then hunt slow without SS.. Ran out of adena? then farm adena... complaining to NCsoft wont give you adena to you account.. . They set the drop rate and you play the game simple as that ?

You are confused then mate, because A grade wasn't even in the game until C3, and B grade was added in C1, in OBT/Prelude it was just C grade. And people certainly didn't skip B grade, sounds like you have some memories from C4 or C5 private servers or something.

And no it's not as simple as that because we're playing on L2 Classic, which has a bunch of various drop rates depending on version and even your region. And the devs have already acknowledged they have a high priority to 'fix' the issue.

I don't accept farming mobs at level 30 or 25 without soulshots. I bought Lineage 2 in 2004, I still have my CD laying around and I did not play that way back then, nor did I play that way on EU Classic. This version is completely broken.

My main goal of this forum topic is to write my few hours feeling & search my old buddies if they will plays. This version you playing here is not original L2 like the way 2004 was . This Lineage 2 Classic is the modern post-GoD Lineage II mechanics with even lower drop rates. If people doesnt like it then why not play else where .. in the past 14 years NCsoft never make the game better but down hill anyways & I still play it with no complains until one or two years before it became free to play. *i dont understand why cant you accept farming with out SS? ran out SS , no adena? just hit that mob until it dies and sit for regen ? or cry no SS "i Quit" ? lmao.. Well the first MMORPG (as part of a consecutive sequence) was in 1995. They became easier and simpler with every year. So yeah by 2003 games were pretty easy. This is some serious nostalgia you have here. This server is passable for a classic game, but the mob is threatening to ruin it. The change from 10% experience loss to 4% will be painful. If they raise the rates of adena to how they were then the players that are paying will be earning a few times as much. Also when I used to play Lineage 2 (sometime between 2004 and 2007) I never joined parties, don't now either. From what I saw in Elven Ruins they are chaotic, skilless, exhausting and boring. Didn't even know what a soulshot was till they gave me some for free in a quest. Interesting, but I have still never bought one in the whole time I've played L2. Oh yeah and parties in this game remind me of another Korean game named TERA... just mindless button bashing.with absurdly high regeneration rates. Maybe they change at higher levels, but in EQ Classic (another example of older MMORPGs are better) parties are meaningful even at lower levels.

So basically getting to approximately 59 in Classic is equivalent to getting to 75 originally. And getting to 75 in Classic is equivalent to getting roughly 6.5 characters to 75 in original L2. Enjoy your L2!

@kahobruv check it yea...Mans is saying that NCsoft marketed this game toward HC players of Lineage 2 by stipulating that this would be a free C2 Lineage2 firstly. That is the initial dismay and rightfully so  anger towards ncsoft  and this server. As it totally took advantage of its very loyal hardcore fans/players. 1) letting humans leave the talkin island was the first mistake literally MAGA(make aden great again) failed

2)pretty much everyone knows that the xp progression isnt that bad the problem is we are progressing way faster than the adena drop is allowing us to 

3) you simply cant be a spoiler or a crafter because the economy that is based around them doesnt exist because spoilers cant spoil...and therefore the market is struggling with mats and parts

4)your argument about skills being learnt from a skill window is invalid since we still need BOOKS AND AMULETS in case you didnt notice and the money they ask for are insane given the rates..

5)yes and teleports will cost by the end of this week and many people will still have no money because the rates are horrible 

so giving free buff scrolls xp scrolls whatever scrolls when you simply cant xp because you cant sustain your self is a bit ironic old people like you claim to be should have known that already but i guess not very few old people actually remembers how c1 actually was..

Quite a few teleport costs are adjusted, e.g. merely ~3k for leaving/entering TI via teleport (instead of the correct 18k). The whole idea of free teleports was a huge mistake by NCw (although you can see the same thing in Japan).

YOU can't spoil. why you say spoilers can't spoil? I have a spoiler and I can spoil if I go to the correct monsters. and notice that at low levels ( maybe until 30 ) you won't have really high spoil chances even for basic mats

and About your EXP vs ADENA, you can do TONS of things.

1) dont use EXP scrolls

2) if you kill the right monsters ( that give good spoil / good adena ) they give low EXP

3) get killed by monsters to lower your exp ( YOU EVEN DONT DROP!!!! )

5) leave server.

dude, dont you think that maybe there are people that like this kind of challenge? trust me if you play smart you can make easy adena. Have you look into the market? with 30k adena if you buy/sell with smart eyes you can turn them into 60k and so on...

i dont know my whole life i play dwarfs and summoners..i never saw such a destructive market as this one that basicly removed the need of d grade completely out of hands of the dwarfs and give to the rest of the people that just want to make a quick cash grab...

no the l2 economy should not be tampered like that because now there is big lack of d grade items on the server and im not even mentioning any other class because dwarfs are the ones that make the most money.. and by 25 lvl (at least for me) i was able to have a mithrill set and a brig set with tarbar and generally be surviving fine while feeding my crafter with mats..

but now this cannot happen and as i said before the xp is far less than c1 but the adena and drops in general are abysmall compared even with the classic servers..forcing people to spend days doing annoying quests for no reason and halting their main chars xp thats not why hardcore meant in l2 

(not to mention the fact that they remove pretty much all of the good quests and made new ones that dont make any sense also why the hek they removed the wolf quest? wolfs arent "classic" enough?)

and we got to know that when we are playing these kind of rates, random numbers turn to get anoying. yesterday I was in Immortal Plateau, Southern Region since it has good drops and mobs drop not bad adena ( around 90-100 adena each ) and looking for a lucky Iron Hammer drop rate at 0.01% - 0.05%.

I stayed there for 40min and got maybe 7k, 10thread and 7 charcoal.

My friend later went to Despair, to make the same as I ( try to get a lucky weapon drop rated 0.01%-0.05% ). He killed 4 mobs and got the Flanged Mace drop lol.

L2 is bleeped up in this aspect. but is so challenging in a way that other games can't be compared to it. 

Now our first weapon farm turned into the second eheh

@dopaxe Hi there & thanks for remember  but doesn't matter what lvl i am at ..if people like to play 1x (they should go back 1x) , if people are playing daily in this whatever rate / exp curve here" L2 classic" shouldn't be complaining because no way NCsoft will change ....

@Oreoloveboss Just duo box and test those old tricks still works for farm adena .. 3 hours 50k-70k , But however is killing blue mobs so low xp gain .. need heavy grinding to beat that exp curve once you get that wepaon you need , too bad i am old and i cant go no life for gaming anymore but finally people should realize this is what you are playing and should accept it... If you want hard facts for how things used to be, look up the old lineage.pmfun website instead. That database was formed from the actual drops people saw in game.

Since its not worth anymore since mob drops plenty of item and adena, so here what I did :

Do Sweetest Venom quest, it makes 3200 adena. Make 2 archers it can 1 hit the mobs quest OR summoners and summon pet that can recharges you. Done it with your 1st char and back with /escape, while it cast for 5 minute you play the other char and finish it, repeat. Usually I can report the quest 5-6 times per hour and by using /escape you dont have to buy port scroll. So the you will got nett 16k-19,2k per hour.

I did it myself so I guess you never try, keep on whining learning boy
