Little to no P2W. One would be surprised on the amount of money people spend on cosmetics, you can even have rare cosmetics from loot boxes and people spend hundreds on it. NCWest's business model right now is to do the least and reap from the rich, a volatile strategy because just 1 rich person quitting will cause a severe dip in revenue, instead of being a hard working company, that earns it's pay from the masses. I feel saddened by this, especially since NCWest is by far the worst offender out of all the NC* companies around the world. Some of this is because of Richard Garriott screwing up NCWest with his failed Tabula Rasa, gets fired for pretty much funnelling all the company's funds into said game (I remember chatting with a GM, who said they had no resources to fix their website [remember when the library was 3 years out of date?], because of "another project"), and then taking millions after successfully suing the company for firing him. NCWest has been struggling with cashflow because they haven't produced a decent game in almost a decade. So unless NCWest will invest into hiring good people to actually run the game, the 2 or so employees responsible for L2 will not be able to do anything other than try to lengthen the demise of this great, but ruined game; and that would by boosting their short term sales figures without regard for the future. I wish they would just sell the rights to a company that actually cares... Even Lineage 1 is generating more revenue than L2... Who here wants to form a company that buys rights of dying games (due to shitty management) and actually run them properly? dont mix the oranges with the potaoes, to play dota 2 you need a key donated by another player same for cs go you need to purchase it, also on the steam you cant even add friends if you havent spent money on the store ;). and finally is dota 2 and cs go mmo? no. therefore they get revenue from other ways like advertising companies ets. l2 its based on players money. dota 2 championship do really give 13m usd to the winning team? no, its just like a tv show. thx for ur points Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They do not need to do that, it will happen much sooner than later anyway. There will be just a few parties of people left in the end, the ones that spent money for their toons for like a big mansion with a dozen of cars etc. At least is what NC West is showing to us so far and like trying to achieve with all their effort. A never ending repeating cycle. As for some, that are pointing out the "hypocrite finger" at others, you need to tell others as well, that after the maintenance you're already shouting to buy NCoin in game, to buy the new items you're complaining about on the forum , so please explain, what's the sole purpose of "you" posting here and raging about OP items being introduced into the game? It's not much of a difference, if you buy it with money or from another source for Adena, since you make someone spend money to buy the promo item from the L2Store, you support them, simple as that. Now if you have a noble it makes no sense no to go for +5 since the noble circlet can't de-level and plain noble is not good enough to justify the investment (if you are willing to invest in these). In about a month ago, there was an event in L2 Korea, which called "Forgotten Secret Scroll". Another P2W event, sells enchant scroll item that you can enchant new passive skill up to +30. These passive skills are warrior, wizard and knight and you can learn all 3 of them. Ofc, L2 Korea players spent hundreds of dollar value korean money to make just one of the passive skill +30. Bottom line is it's their money and that's how they chose to spend it. And as long as they do nc won't bother changing their ways. Then again, if they stop L2 is probably over. I prefer not to concern myself with other people's spending habits as there's nothing I can do to change them, nor it's any of my business to do so. Daily reminder that NCWest killed Lineage1 because their playerbase wouldn't accept P2W mechanics.
