Let us remember before getting too angry

While some drop/cost adena scaling complaints are understandable, Classic is far nicer to us than original beta and launch.  Most of us never used the GK; we paid other players for a WW buff (yes paid) and ran everywhere.  Used shots?  Nope, just straight steel.  Wasn't able to afford shot use till around lvl 50.  Death was extremely brutal.  Even PVE death would often cause main armor and weapon drops just crushing peoples spirits.  Remember being in the low 50"s and taking over a week playing 10 hours a day in Enchanted Valley just trying to get 1%?  If you died at that lvl another devastating experience.  There was no VIP and ability to reach these absurd levels in such a short time like Classic.  This little snippet is not meant to disregard anyone's current frustration; just a reminder of how savage and brutal this game was in the beginning.  Clans and friend parties were much more important then to survival and advancement.  Now we can all just solo box and have a nice day.

stop comparing classic to old l2 those 14 years ago, like srsly stop. new gamer generation dont want to do that kind of crap like running or killing mobs without shots, 40+ ppl are quiting only up to 40 lvl scene is alive cuz those levels zones was fixed there way more other games to plays and server will die out unless this is fixed

No worries, NC has created Bloody Classic for all you Interlude/Gracia Final/High Five seasonal illegal server players - with GM shop, global teleports from any peace zone, npc buffers with 7h fullbuff, etc.

The sad part is, actually playing a brutal game requires you to maximize your efficiency. Since there are ages and ages until you reach a certain level (since death is a serious setback) you can test everything you want and see what works and what doesn't and what works better than everything else. So even in this 'Bloody'/'Bloody Classic' server you noob illegal server players will get shafted over and over despite having [access to] all the gear from day 0.

Players did not change, what players liked and disliked back then is the same as today. And back then most of the players quit L2 and moved to other games (such as WoW).

In my opinion, it was not so much the hardcore approach of the XP progression but certain Timesinks such as GKs costing and mainly the way Economics are setup for this game. I been playing MMORPG';s for 22 years now, and I know right away that agame is not well designed and will not be fun just by reading forums and seeing mentions of "Gold" Sellers (adena in this case), and bots.

WoW never really had that problem like Lineage...and it got up to 11 million subscriptions, and 5-6 million at least ongoing for 14 years. Lineage2 Died within 1 year of launch in comparison..and lingered in survival mode since trying different permutations and design....

So fix the economics of the game make the Adena sellers go away and the bots, then the player Drama, and the toxic community and get players who will actually be happy to play and have fun together instead of trying to cheat one anotehr and fight for drops...

This game brought the worse out of people at times...and it still does because its economics are so baddly setup, bluring the outstanding beauty and depth the rest of the game has...

Just reading the forums look at whatthe majority of the players are talking about and describe their ingame behavior...

Are we playing a High Fantasy Game which incites immersion in to its Beautiful world where we can experience Epic Adventures and events..or are we playing a Corporate Tycoon Game calculating profit margins and efficiency of our time drafting curve tendencies and market evaluations? 

Instead of talking about shared Advetures in the realm, feats and acheivements, fellowhips, PVE and PvP encounters, great battles, exploration quests and epic encounters, fun laughs, funny mistakes, fun times chilling and socializing with other players in thsi Fantastic world, heck even Role Playing (it is supposed to be an MMORPG after all)...people are talking about profits of adena and efficiency of time killing mobs and calculating time ratios, how many SS to use in how many shots to kilel amob and how much it costs per mob versus how much a mob drops, drama due to money and drop disputes..... 

The cause of this behavior is not "today's players", it is not due to the players perriod... the cause of this behavior is the setup of the game.

do u realize Exp curve INCREASED 5-7 times after 40+?

l2 back in the days was much easier.   both exp and gear wise .  ppl just didnt know anything about this game :P
