i'm worried the "cursed sword" mechanic and the pk changes will lead to an rpk slaughterhouse, where reds roam the land, with the sole goal of ruining people's day, even if there's nothing to gain for them anymore.

You need to see the reality of things. Sticking your head in the sand, ignoring it all, is not going to help you, and it's a spiral - you'll get angrier every lap.

It's a 15 year old game, receiving hand me down updates from Korea, lagging years behind, every few years. There's a skeleton crew of a handful guys sitting at West, trying to scramble the stuff together and keeping the servers smooth. I don't think telling them you find it "insulting" or "unprofessional", or venting in general, will make it any better.
You will have all that glory back when (if) Lineage 3 comes out. Lineage 2 is not worth the investment. Be glad they get it all done at all.

It doesn't matter if it's hours apart from the update. They post them when they're ready, and they stated already they're working on it. Don't be that impatient forum child. And especially, don't feel "insulted", because that opens you up to some serious hurt the real world will inflict on you

They wrote already they'd be working on the notes, that should be enough. It doesn't matter if some forum troll accounts find it "insulting".

How about people who do not like this feature play on Classic, or just do not use it?
Some people are so full of themselves, they can only think about themselves, and want to force their style of game play upon everyone else.
But nothing to worry, NC has the right idea. The macro system is here to stay, no matter if a small, but vocal minority on the provincial US servers would like to have it their way.

Not a fan of clan size reduction and the removal of certain pets. I do like my Grim Reapers, don't wanna run around with those fugly Soulless.
Having level restrictions lifted though does make sense (else nobody would see R110 gear anytime soon on the US servers).

i saw a ton of loopers today, in the lowbie zones, and lots of corpses, with their lone boxes mourning the dead.
most people can't scramble together a half decent macro that runs for longer than 10 minutes without getting them killed, because this system is so simplistic, you have no real options and zero failsafe.
i suspect what you encountered were bots. adrenaline lets you bot 24/7 without fail. no death, no getting stuck, no downtimes while waiting for respawn, no running across the continent.
the loop macros are harmless in comparison. you can't really be completely afk for long, unless you bring a party to kill solo mobs... which is actually happening, but that's on the known issues list (running more than 3 clients).
