  1. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I played this game for a while in the 2000s. In the latter part of that time Polearms (for any race) were severely nerfed. And Frenzy was also severely nerfed.

    1) In the case of polearms, the nerfs, as I recall, severely limited the amount of multiple monsters that could be hit at one time.

    2) In the case of Frenzy, if health went back over something like 25%, the Frenzy effect went away.

Can anybody answer if those 2 nerfs are in L2 Classic?

in the end you will need any class what you can get if you aim higher than FoG or something else.
Skip the Tank you will mostly need it on Siege if you plan to go on Siege.

Titan,Warcryer,Warlock,BD,SWS,Prophet,Shilien Elder is the way to go as a Melee DD. if you cant afford high gear at the start build some little melee helper for Example. Phantom Summoner which is a great Party Healer and dont use any Mana for his heals.

Thanks for the advice. I doubt I will be doing sieges, so point taken about tanks and about Phantom Summoner. If I have the Phantom Summoner for healing and the Warcryer for buffs, would the Shillien Elder be of any use?

  3. What I have in mind, overall, is to form a group of 4 - 5 characters, playing simultaneously, and go through a lot of places that used to basically require groups, back in the 2000s. My main would be Destroyer / Titan. Support might be a BD, maybe a Warcryer/Doomcryer, maybe a summoner that can do dame and help with heals and/or mana, and mayyyybe a classic tank. As far as places, maybe Temple of Eva om up through, say maybe Forge of The Gods or Wall of Argos. And, I need some way to outfit that group as I level them. Hmmmm.

They say either that titans and kamaels are good choice for solo and adena gain. I have no idea why those guys say that, but they say that on another post i see on this forum.

Titans are heavy-armor and they can use two-handed weapons, for which they have mastery. Think about the effect of that on shot cost. I can't speak about kamael.

I am just coming back to this game, having played it in in the 2000s. Back then, Spell Howler with SE support could also make adena, especially with some of the hunting grounds available in the 60s.  But also, back then, adena gain maybe just covered shots and other consumables. It would not and could not cover the cost of gear. I'm not sure what the current state of the game is in that regards.

  5. Anyone?  Did I violate some unwritten rule with this question? If so, I apologize. But hear me out, I'm looking to find a way to play through PVE on places where you would mostly need groups. I  got to experience some of the high-end places back in the 2000s, as part of a clan. I'm not seeing that as too likely now, so I'm thinking I need to see if I can do it with something like, maybe 2 - 5 boxed characters, plus my main.

  6. I don't understand the answer. Hmmm, let's say I want to buy a C-grade weapon for each of 3 characters I have. Just taking a quick look at shops, that will take millions of adena. I assume I just need to load up on adena, and then repeat each time I advance a grade. Same for armor and accessories. I'm tryint to figure out if and how that's viable for me to do.

  7. Do those towns still exist? I don't see them on the teleport map. Heine was a place I just loved, beautiful city and really nice background music. Rune was a dirty little town of dirt streets, but I really liked on of the hunting areas near Rune.

Edit: I played this game back in the 2000s.

  8. Eh, I will explain, as best I can. Back around 2006 or so, in Chronicle 3, you could play on many servers, from a single login. So, I created my first character on some server whose name I've long since forgotten. With the same login, I created my second character on the Seighardt server. (FYI, I ended up staying on the Seighardt server; I never touched that first character again.) and, as I already mentioned, there was no Live versus Classic back then - that was about 2 years after the game first came out. So, it was a bit different when I got the idea to try out the new Live side f the game, and see if I like the newer way.

I will probably create a second login, and give the newer Live side of the game a look. One thing I can say for the Classic game, the multiple races and their significant differences was something I really liked. There was plenty to not like, but to this day, I've not seen so that in any other game, as least not to the extent I saw in the original Lineage 2. And boy, for PVE, could you get a really strong party from all those differences.

  9. Well, I'm not quite sure whether to say "thanks", or not. And, I know about boxing, kept both a SE and a Warcryer back when. As far as 1 email = 1 session, it *looked* obvious. But this is such a big change from around 10 years ago, I just had to ask. Back then , of course there was no line and classic. But you were otherwise free to pick whatever server you wanted when you logged in (although your characters did have to generally say on the server they were created. This one thing about logins I consider to be a pretty big change from back then. Also, to have boxed characters, you did have to have separate logins back then also.

  10. If this is possible, I'm not seeing how. Having logged in to Classic and chosen the Talking Island server. it looks like that's all I can ever get to, at least with the email I used to create my account. FYI, I played this game for a few years, from like part of C3 up through maybe 2009 or so. I wanted to check it, see if I wanted to come back, and I would like to check out both Classic and Live.
