  1. Hello @Wissp and welcome!  I hear you are starting a fresh new character and attempting to be free to play, I appreciate the spirit!  I have many videos on youtube  that are geared toward new / returning players, so you may be able to find some helpful information there!

Speaking of which, it seems NCWEST staff / GM's do not have a strong community presence both in game, and out of game (via live streams, social media interactions etc).  I challenge you, along with other NCWEST staff, to start engaging more with the community, not only on the forums, but in game, out of game, and just in general.  This game unfortunately does not have the best "PR" associated with it, and there is a lot of negativity / toxicity in the community that i think turns new players away.  I personally feel if the GM's became more transparent / involved with the community, that could potentially help increase community perception of the game.  A few recommendations or examples I would love to suggest would be hosting in game community events (such as equalized PVP tournaments, hide and seek events etc), reaching out to the content creators of the game and trying to bridge the gap there (maybe join some live streams for Q&A, start a podcast or something like that for the community to listen to and get a glimpse into whats to come in L2's future), and logging in to the game (on your GM character) on a fairly regular / frequent basis to show the community that the staff is active and involved.

Welcome again, and if some guy named H0RR0R ever PK's / griefs you in game (he only picks on new / low level players), please feel free to message BoBandy and I will gladly come and take care of that problem for you!

  2. I am curious on the logic / rationale behind labeling something as a "sale" when the guaranteed items that come from the chests are 3x more expensive then what they are in the ncoin store?  I thought the point of a sale was supposed to be a discount?

    To do the math....

    1 box (5 keys guaranteed) = 80 ncoin

    30 keys required to make a mastery chapter 1 book = 6 boxes = 480 ncoin

Currently in the ncoin store i can buy a mastery chapter 1 book for 160 ncoin

Can someone help me understand how this is a sale?

  3. Enough is enough.  Why is Lineage 2 releasing zones at level 124 that require a 20k+ (yes thats 20,000 USD) toon to be able to farm at it?!?  It's only going to get worse from here unless we as a community demand change!  Your new zones that you release are becoming more and more unpopulated...because less and less players can afford to even play the game at the level required for the updates you release!  What good is the money spent on creating new content, if no one can afford to play it?!

They already added new mechanics for new players its called pay 2 win.

I think L2 is banned in Belgium and Netherlands due to promoting gambling on boxes.

Yes I understand that :) but what I am getting at is even if you spend a million dollars on the game, it will still take months if not years to catch up from an exp perspective... I am sure any character who is level 115+ will 100% disagree with this (because it would invalidate there hard work over the years), but I am talking similar to WOW with a character boost option...something to skip the months/year of grinding from 105-115 where even if you have a million dollars worth of gear, you are still useless in regards to any end game activities due to level gap.

    @Arctic

Nice to hear and looking forward to the new updates.

Also is there any plans on making the game Cheaper over time so more people can fully enjoy it and compete us top players ,  just make the game cheaper it will be more attractive , more players, more fun, more content, good events.  you got my point :)

I would like to echo Andouille's question, as the game is growing and more items / higher tier items are added and obtained, it is almost impossible for a new player to catch up / make it to the end game.  Does NCWEST have any plans to add any type of catch up mechanic for new players?  For a new player to come to the servers and see characters level 122, it is incredibly discouraging and seems almost pointless to start playing, knowing that type of character progression would take years to catch up to, and too Andouille's point, would be VERY expensive.

  6. i think a good solution would be adding party hunting zones (equivalent to ketra / varka) for the level 105-107 and 107-109 hunting zones that way people have the option to solo (like they are currently) or can run full parties at places there own level

Varka and Ketra? Is that the place where only stacked characters level 114 and above can hunt in party?

not true - we had a party of 109s survive over night last night on one of the smaller groups.  only averaged about 3.5t per hour, but still was able to be done.  The biggest thing is the damage penalty of being 109, a couple of our DD's in our main CP hit 110 over the past week and there damage almost doubled out there....really a semi geared party of 110 should be more than enough.

Ketra/Varka is AMAZING!  Unfortunately, I would estimate that 90% of the server simply aren't strong enough to take advantage of it.

So thank you NC soft bringing it here as quick as you did.  I just wish there was a comparable group area with 107/108 mobs.  Wishful thinking...

    +++++

I think if they could make a party area for 105-107 and 107-109 that would be a huge plus to the game.  Playing as a group is way more fun and also how the game was originally intended to be played (remember the good ole days??).

  9. since returning, ive wondered why the necropolis and catacombs are no longer utilized?  I think it would be great, especially if they could make them hard enough to require a party (even party exp bonus like with ketra / varka) for the level 105-110 range.

  10. First off want to say the addition of Ketra / Varka was great.  The main thing I learned from this addition??  That actually playing this game in a group and not solo is enjoyable, and tough!!  With that being said, I think it could be beneficial to add in a group exp area like what you did with ketra/varka for the level 107-109 range, that way people have an alternative to just soloing in AI / FOS etc...  I think encouraging group play will help bring some life back to the game rather than everyone just setting up afk 24/7.  Just a thought, what do others think?

Hunting zones are packed at the lower level mobs because higher level people could no longer effectievely hunt at their level without dragon or limited weapons because of the attribute issue.  This does not solve all the problems but its a step in the right direction to allow people to move back to where they were exping before this update at least.  Some things NCSoft West does not have any ability to change think of this as a hot fix for now, they trying to push an update to redo varka and ketra zones, i wonder will their be new quest lines for that like the old one was?

I agree and that does make sense.  I guess what I struggle to understand is that for each level (103,105, 107, 109) there is only two hunting zones for each.  This game is huge with hundreds of un-used hunting spots lvl 1-85, why cant they upgrade some of those zones so there could be 4 or 5 options at each of these levels (103,105,107,109 etc) rather than just two?  Maybe its ncsoft's intention to have competition for spots, just seems a little odd for a game that is played 90% afk.

  12. Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought the feedback from the community was around mob density in zones level 105-109, not being able to find groups of mobs cause they are all full and what not.  The solution is adding 2 level 112+ zones?  While I personally will benefit from this, I feel bad for the rest of the community that is having trouble finding a spot anywhere below this level (which I would say is 95% of the server).

I do appreciate that they are listening and trying to help - better than nothing at all!

Yea, I don't get why ppl getting on you about gear. Glad you are enjoying the game as a new player. As someone else said, your gear is currently mid-high. Alot of small things to upgrade.

The main thing about libra is we can swap our class (main to a different type of that archetype, ex Othel to Othel, but not Othel to Yul). You keep same lvl and enchant skills, unsure about forgotten skills but I assume those stay too.

On dual, you can swap to any other class type pending your race allows it and keep your same level. For example, my dual is a 105 tyrr dread, I will be able to swap it to a Yul for 500kk (old price) and it will stay 105 instead of resetting to 85 like normal. 1st lvl of skills will be learned but if you need sp, you need to grind.

Libra also allows you to swap weapon types. Example, I have +13 limited kristna dual daggers with top aug of 20% skill crit dmg. I will swap my daggers to a bow during libra to xp my dual, then swap them back to daggers before the end.

If you are a feoh, HEWR only go to 7. During libra, u can swap wep to a fighter, Hewr to 12, and swap back to a mage wep.

Libra so has some random quests, other exchange options for stuff, and usually nice ways to upgrade stuff.

It is typically one of the most enjoyed events by the community and needed for anyone who is trying to reroll or upgrade their char.

    thank you for this info!!

  14. Mystikal - I appreciate you understanding the original purpose of this!

Sly - what the hell??? this is a video about red libra!  What does my gear have anything to do with it?  But if you are so interested....yes I have bought a metric bleep ton of ncoin over the last 2 and half months and that is how I made all of my adena.  I am fortune enough to be young and have no children, and have a well paying job.  I will gladly make a video on how to effectively p2w (and have actually considered doing it, but if you are so interested, I will).  I never once mentioned anywhere that I farmed my gear, because you are correct, that is literally impossible to make that kind of money via farming.  Even after investing the amount of money I have into the game, I still can only make 500m-2b a day running PI / SI / IOS / trading etc...

My purpose here is simple:  I played this game as a kid and loved it, took a 10+ year break and came back recently when working from home.  I love this game and don't mind investing some money into it as its my primary hobby.  One thing I observed is there is no helpful info anywhere for new players (even the l2wiki is unclear on many things), so I am trying to make videos of things I learn along the way that I wish I would have been able to find on the internet without having to bug people, thats it.  I apologize if my gear has upset you, but I would like to stay on topic (red libra) if possible!
