  1. Cruma was always like that, even in old L2. Our problem in classic is that they shut down more than half of Necropolis and Catacombs instead than letting them be usable to lowbies, or, at the very least, adapt the level of the monsters inside so that new players can also find a room to grind in. That being said, for as long as the older players keep reserving rooms for themselves, even the newer rooms will end the same. I could understand reserving 1 or 2 rooms, but some people are occupying more than 10 rooms. Big characters should move on from lower content so that we may take in, but big characters also lack areas where to move to. So this is a community problem, on top of a poor development choice. As for "make new areas"... I'll type this here, but I see many threads for the same thing around. It is NOT possible for NC NA to make new areas. That is for the main dev team to decide and do in Korea.... it requires the client to change entirely. I honestly doubt they will do it in Classic, as it's supposed to be an early version of L2 (honestly this is valid only when they decide it is, since we have Kamaels, which did not exist at all early in the game, whereas cata/necro all existed, along with Heine, and they closed these areas)... And I have yet to understand what those glowing giant balls they added recently are for, and that strange area that replaced the School of Dark Magic....
  2. There are a few other problems too... 1) we only have a few minutes to collect 5 mob kills 2) no one uses manner mode, and the place gets really crowded, so unless you have a level 86+ character with a +16 weapon and oneshot things, you need several hits to kill one mob, but the quest count only goes up if you deliver last hit, making it really difficulty/nearly impossible for an actual level 76 player (the first level allowed to participate in the event) to get 5. I failed it myself at 4 of 5. 3) it is impossible for some people to participate at all due to the event happening at two set times, which correspond to sleep time for some and to busy time for others. My suggestion to fix all the above problems: - Allow mobs to spawn multiple times per day/night, separated from the raid time, even without loot, so you don't risk it to be exploited. This will allow newbies to complete the daily they don't manage to complete during the raid time, and the busy people will at least participate to the event by completing the 5 mob daily at the time they can be physically at their computers. There always are busy people at set times, as everyone got their routines/work schedules. An event should at least try to include as many people as possible, this one keeps out of the fun a lot of them, which is a pity because it's an original and well thought event in my opinion. I hope you will consider my suggestions.
  3. Hello Wissp, any news about the monthly code for June? You're a bit late compared to the previous months... Thanks!
  4. Thanks @LaSantera for mentioning something I forgot. Crafting system. Look out there, it's full of sandbox games, survival games, and even your so-much-loved mobile games are all crafting-focused. People love to collect materials and craft things, both necessary and cosmetics. In my own personal gaming experienced, Lineage II had one of the most interesting crafting system I ever tried. There are dozens of items we could try to craft even just to collect them, and it's a different way of obtaining things too for those that prefer it to grinding adena and relying on other people's drops and random crafts (which are not worth the effort 99% of the time - you get lucky and get something useful 1 time out of 100 points). I know many people, myself included, who still try to craft and collect materials, using UNOFFICIAL databases made by fans out of desperation. Most of the things were however removed or the drop made impossible (0.005% spoil means you need to actively kill that monster for several months). It-doesn't-make-sense. Because most of the times we talk about C-B items that are not even used that much but people would craft them for fun. Right now spoil and sweep in auto-hunt are even super broken. The dwarf will just spam them and consume all mana, just to forget sweeping before moving on to the next target. So if you want your recipe at the new rate of "just" 0.01% you got to become miserable in active play. (There was NEVER an item with such a low rate, even in the old grindy L2) A long time ago you could even craft hair pins with the materials gathered by fishing, and you can still make agathion in the Live server in a similar fashion. Crafting is one (but not the only) of those side activities that would enrich the game and give people more stuff to do, but you removed it entirely, along with the pet system, a barebones fishing system, quests etc etc.
  5. As one of the most active newbies around currently, that appeared out of nowhere, and raised a clan to top 95 position from nothing just by myself and with the help of two other newbies, and some amazing friends I met in the game, I think I can talk for all newbies of L2 Classic. I'm very humble, and we struggle every day to even obtain a small slice of the game for ourselves. For us newbies this event is the first thing that really help us in months (we haven't seen anything better, yet). Most of the free items you're giving (but fix that Valakas please!!!!!) are a mirage for us, as we feel constantly rejected by the bigger community, that occupy most of the game's surface and won't let us do anything, even in those areas where our gear is sufficient. We struggle to keep a 4-mob room in cata, we play without SS because we don't have money to buy them, we get PKed every time we position somewhere, or kill-stealed by stronger characters. I do not feel like telling you "this event is terrible", because for me and for my fellow newbies it is not. But I see what the others are saying... I see their point. And I see how the worst grinders are trying to prevent us from getting our tickets by turning on a hundred of clients and keeping all places busy just to flood the server with their dolls later... there are people that can get the worst out of even nice things, sadly, and Lineage II as a "game of conflict" very often brings the worst out of people. Nowadays, this format doesn't work anymore (just see the competition and what kind of games the other Korean developers are coming up with at the moment) and it's killing the mood of many people, and our mood to be social creatures (it's a mmorpg, which means conflict shouldn't be the only thing in it). I hope every day that someday NC soft will wake up and see the truth. Bring us back the good things that you removed from L2 and that added pleasant content (quests, fishing with pretty rewards, PETS, coliseum events), gradually release the old zones you removed (Heine, Rune, Schuttgart all had a lot to offer), you don't even need to invent new stuff when the old stuff would fix many things! Rework the beautiful and huge L2 area so that we can use it fully again like many years ago. Make ways for the big ones to spend adena in a worthy way to reduce inflation, but please, stop reducing the drop rate where newbies farm, because we're killing us while they survive. And last but not least in this thread Event related. Bring back those beautiful fancy items! Pom poms, music instruments, those cute transformations from that very old Summer water park event that personally I LOVED. Make Classic, the game we used to know and love AND you may be free to add new stuff later on. It takes love to Lineage II to make it shine again.
  6. On a totally unrelated note... something for @Wissp.. I hope to see Prime rewards back to L2, you were great at it, please bring it back!
  7. I forgot to mention that the XP from Plains of Glory didn't come from monsters but from the completion of the 30 mobs daily (and the scrolls it yields). If I were to levelup only by mobs, it would probably take a couple months.
  8. I do not agree with Catacombs and Necropolis 80+ @prusky You only speak for old players, new players barely have anywhere to go since you occupy almost the entirety of two catacombs for example, and you want to raise the level of those places, so where will newbies go then? Instead they should re-open ALL catacombs and necropolis that were closed for no reason. It is about time they released the Elmore Kingdom the way it was supposed to be and you could make some of those areas 80+ to accomodate the older players needs. They should also rework all the open world areas that are currently unused and empty (some of them literally have only 3-4 mobs at best). They should review the XP tables for these areas, which were supposed to escalate (they did in old L2, upon which Classic is based) with your level... instead, right now we have 4000 to 10000 xp from ants, and when you move to 40+ areas, then 50+, then 60+ they all give the same xp (7k-14k). I tried to exp by doing the Hunting V dailies in Plains of Glory for a couple week and that got me only one level (from 65 to 66). And Plains of Glory is one of the most "usable" areas, since many others have raid bosses spread around, resulting in your characters dying when you turn auto-hunt on (and so no one uses those places). All mobs should be grouped up like Ruins of Agony, or you should move raids to an empty space and keep mobs all together like in Abandoned Camp. All dangerous and useless things should be removed from the hunting areas (quest monsters no longer used that hit like trucks and give no adena as an example). As a result of all this, the only people you find open world are grinding adena and do not care of xp, and also, newbies can only go to xp in Cruma 3 and Cruma 2, which is also crowded for adena farming, if not for a few rooms that are being kept free by a kind player.
  9. Hello @Wissp I've heard of you in past and your personal achievements in old NC. I hope what you say is true and I look forward to see a more interested and attentive company toward the game and its players from now on. There is much to work over... Not only for the older players, but first and foresmost, for the new ones, if you want the community to grow back up, because right now it has become incredibly small. Most newbies leave very early, because it's extremely difficult to play a game where every single mechanic has been made slow (skill books have a super low drop %, adena barely drops anymore so you spend everything in consumables and never get enough to buy gear, most areas are full of people because 90% of the map in Classic is empty and would need a rework so that everyone has a chance to find a place to play). Yes I know that we're supposed to pvp to conquer the areas, but let me tell you that this mindset doesn't work anymore in 2023. Pvp should be encouraged through other wise, not as the only means of being able to play at all. Nobody likes to lose exp anymore, and be engaged in annoying wars that only end up having you PKed while you sleep, wasting your entire night of exp and electricity (for keeping your PC on). I joined back after many years in old L2, and in 3 months I achieved pretty nothing... I must only thank the fact I met some friends that helped me a lot, because otherwise I'd have ended up leaving much like everyone else.
  10. [Long story short] Not right now... I'm playing in the classic server, and very "casual" too... I played this game for 10 years, have been Queen, Hero and all the things... now I just don't feel like putting a lot of effort, my health wouldn't allow it anyway... Also the current situation, with nc soft choices and everything else, doesn't inspire me to spend any money on the game. I figured very quickly that the Live game has become super grindy and p2w.. I was stuck in the Warthorn plains for days because every other area would be too much, but that area also became slow as the mobs have gotten a bit obsolete for my level. I imagine that the game is mostly "grind an area for days until you finish the quest, then with the new gear grind the next one (and next quest) for way longer, etc etc"... with most features transferred to the l2 shop, with spoilers out of the games, all there is left to do is a solo dungeon and dailies. They even removed fishing, I liked the mini game back then, and now baits are so expensive for a new player (and even the rod itself) that it's not worth to even start... besides, it's another thing you do in passive, as they removed the mini game entirely... People are so stressed that are not willing to pay even few extra adena when buying something off a new player, whereas in other games you often receive help for free. While the game is more or less this in all modes now, I feel like I have more of a chance to feel some progression in classic than in Live or Aden, where adena is too inflated and you can't really get your hands on any meaningful treasure to sell without shopping. In classic, 10 mil adena can still get you something useful, as the game is slower and every grade of armor is still useful, in Live I have 400 mils, made through an event because there is no other way for me yet, and they're pretty much useless.
  11. What??? This is madness... Thanks a lot for pointing this out to me and showing me the way, I really couldn't find it otherwise, but I'm staying exactly where I am now lol. Considering that the game is the same I see in the NA servers, I don't see any reason why I should pay to even run a client, at that point I'd simply drop the game to play something else.
  12. Because it's illegal in most countries... Gambling has been banished from most games and many companies ended up in front of a court because of gambling. But in truth most companies keep doing it in a softer/masked way... just that this specific case is not even that much masked/softened. Anyway... I played Lineage II for 10 years before it became Free to Play and dropped it at some point because of the effort you need to play it and because of how NCsoft was... I came back one month ago, lured by the Prime rewards, but reading on forums and blogs and youtube, new or old posts alike, I see things have even worsened... after playing many games from the competition (even other KOREAN games) and receiving FREE rewards even for the slightest of the delays when running maintenance or adding new features, I was quite surprised to find that NCsoft didn't adapt to the modern MMO market AT ALL. To all people mentioning EU servers and how EU people would supposedly treated better.... I'm from EU. I can't really find anything different from the NA servers... You should also know that: - Upon choosing Europe on the NC soft client you CAN'T play Lineage II (it doesn't appear) - The internet didn't really suggest any distinction (I couldn't find any specific website for EU, and all I see is that there are two realms with different timezones) - The shop is exactly the same - I have no clue where to find these supposedly released patch notes for EU, because the website is terrible and doesn't really guide you anywhere. Heck, there is barely any introductions in the game to explain the 3856692 new items they introduced over the year... I don't know how to do things now that they destroyed 90% of the old game mechanics...
