  1. The Tarti quest that gives it is the level 40 quest I think. Anything above that and you definitely miss out.

Yes, you do get Exalted Armor and Weapon after completing first Exalted quest. The bonuses compare to R grade equipment, iirc. The weapon will have the same basic boosts that you see on Shadow weapons, including PVE +10%, HP +15%, etc.

After you complete the second Exalted quest you'll get an enchant for your weapon, which brings it up to the level of an Enhanced Shadow weapon, which is R99.

The Exalted quests are exhausting. I definitely tip my hat to anyone who completes those quests in basic R grade weapons/armor.

  2. P. Skill Crit Damage boosts can be found in a few places, from jewels like the Dragon Ring (15%) to Radiant Circlet of Authority (% varies depending on level of enchant) to Red Cat's Eye Gem (% varies depending on level of gem), weapon SA, etc. Plus, it's an augment that can be acquired on accessories like cloaks. It's the cumulative affect of all of these items that make a difference, not just one.

Having said that, if you plan to play mostly PVE, an archer doesn't need trillions of adena in end-game top equipment, mainly because so many of the "normal" items increase the other important damage booster for archers: skill power. There are also other cheap ways, like enchanting your skills, that help make archers more lethal. If you PVP, yes, you'll have to break the bank, but not in PVE -- unless all you do is epic raids.

  3. We're making this more difficult than it is.

Normal crit damage does help archers...if they are only attacking with a normal attack. (Reading that, most of the archers just spit their drinks on their monitors. But read on...)

The thing is, very rarely do archers attack with just a normal hit. 99% of the time they are using one of their physical skills like Impact Shot, Quick Shot, Pinpoint Shot, Multiple Arrow, etc. Because they are using physical skills most of the time, the conventional wisdom is to obtain only those items that boost their P. Skill Critical Damage.

To answer the OP, no normal crit. damage of standard attack does not extend to physical skills. For Yul, you have to get items that indicate P. Skill Critical Damage.

So if you see something like the Sayha Ring - Stage 1 which states, "Normal Attack/ M. Skill Critical Damage + 20%" just know that it doesn't increase your P. Skill Critical Damage even if it does boost Magic Skill Critical Damage. Yul's who buy that ring are buying it more for the 5% P. Skill Power that you get as well as some of the other benefits of the ring.

  4. You have to use a Giant's Scroll: Enchant Weapon (R grade), not one of the normal Enchant Weapon R scrolls. Giant's Scrolls (or abbreviated GEWR) cost about 180M adena. By contrast, a normal Enchant Weapon R grade (EWR) scroll is only about 12M - 22M. (The prices for all of this stuff is actually much cheaper than what people are selling them for, but that's a story for another time.)

Once you have the GEWR in your inventory, hover your cursor over it and right click.

An event window will open up with two boxes.

In the first box you'll see the GEWR. Next to it is an empty box for your weapon. You should see a sword image there.

Drag the weapon that you want to enchant from your inventory into the empty weapon box.

After you've successfully placed your weapon, a third box will appear below the scroll and weapon boxes. That is where you place the Lesser Giant stone,

You're all set. Read any information in the event window as it pertains to what may happen to your weapon if you proceed. Once you've done that and you still want to enchant, hit "Start."

  5. First check with Tarti in Gludio to see if she will let you do any of the low level quests. Can't recall if she rewarded the Twilight armor and Apoc weapon after you complete the level 40 quest or the level 20 one. If she does not give you those quests, then your next chance to get a package is at 105 when you pick your subclass. (Note: you'll need to pick a subclass similar to your main if you want to use the armor and weapon on your main.)

The L2 store does sell 30 Day R99 weapon (200 Ncoin) and R99 armor (400 Ncoin) packages. 600 Ncoin is roughly the equivalent of ~1.2B adena depending on server and whether or not an event is taking place. I'll let you decide if you want to spend 1.2B on something that disappears in 30 days.

  6. I wanted this service so badly at first. But I got tired of waiting. I mean we've been discussing this for years now. YEARS!

So I launched a new character with the main and sub that I wanted. No complaints.

But I feel guilty. When I log in the original toon just looks at me, sadly. "Will you play me today?" No chance. Blame the Devs. I'd delete it, but it's my oldest character. Never know if they'll give out some type of veteran reward based on character creation date again.

  7. Unfortunately, you can't and missed out. You're not alone. I have characters that have their diploma and certificates, too. I didn't need them, though. I guess the lesson here is "use it or lose it."  If anyone has something that they've had for years, better use it now. New content almost always means the old stuff is going to get deleted.

  8. No question, this game is tough for everyone, but especially brutal on anyone that expects to pay $0.00 and still have decent gear when they reach 105.

Before "free to play" we had to pay a monthly fee to play L2. Conveniently, everyone forgets that. Over the course of a year under the old system we paid approx $180 a year. What I did was repurpose those funds for Ncoin purchases during the top adena making events. I don't participate in every event. I don't buy Ncoin every month, either. The event items that you buy during those events you can sell for a premium after the event ends and have a source of income to play the market. With some luck, but more savvy moves you can earn the billions necessary to equip your character(s)--  eventually.

It's not all doom and gloom, but you have to be smart about it. And you have to approach the game like a marathon, not a sprint. And yeah, sometimes people who race in marathons end up crawling to the finish. But they finish.

  9. Ok, technically I got an Aden's Reward Chest drop, which when I opened it turned out to be an Eternal Tunic. But I'm calling it a drop all the same. Woooooooot!!!

Do you know how long it's been since I've had a full weapon or armor drop? Let's put it this way, the last time that I got a drop it was a Samurai Longsword in Outlaw Forest back when you could still do the Wishing Potion Quest. Some of the people playing this game now probably were in diapers back then. :D

This is what we need more of...full item drops. Increase odds by a thousand fold please. Your players will thank you.

If it would be real gambling, some lawyer in the US would have already claimed millions from ncsoft.

It's possible they already have and no one knows it. Companies settle cases all of the time outside of court without details ever seeing the light of day due to nondisclosure terms of deal. So NCSoft cut us a fat check and we won't blab. :P

they had this service in game, and people used it all the time....NCscam saw the $ they were losing and took it out

When did they have a weapon change service in-game for R110 weapons outside of Red Libra? No one is talking about the below R grade weapon change with Mammon.

I've only ever played live. Not outside server, not illegal server, or whatever the case, which you seem to know quite a bit about. Stop projecting and either respond in a respectful way, or not at all.

From Winter of War patch notes:

All weapon appearance related items will be removed on 2/19 due to a technical issue in a future content update with these items. Modified appearances on weapons will remain intact.

I know you don't have to explain in greater detail what that technical issue is, but I am curious to know why it doesn't affect existing weapons that already have appearance modifications. Also, when are we getting that future content update again? If not happening for another couple of months, you could have removed the weapon modify scrolls third week of April with other stuff, couldn't you?

  13. Extend Server Settings for 1-2 more weeks. Lag and disconnects are still happening, though maybe not as bad. Boosted setting should not be removed until the servers are fixed.

Red Libra helps too. Because of lag I now know not to play a Tyr. I want to change to archer or mage without losing levels. Not easy to swap my weapon without Red Libra merchants.

Some days the luck is really bad in the game.

Yes, I believe that too. Luck in game changes day to day. Wonder if GMs have anything to do with that???

Yesterday on Chronos one guy made a +20 cloak, while another guy made a +30 weapon. Some other person made a Greater Jewel after making a second level 5 jewel from 0. (He already had one stage 5 for the combine.)  Yesterday was probably a good luck day. We'll see if similar good luck stuff happens today or not.
