It's possible to see adjustments after the client limit is in place. They should've done this from the beginning because you have to factor in the realities of unlimited free accounts. Now there is a soft limit so they can consider increasing the adena rate. Not to say that being able to box full parties for free and afk solo isn't already a huge benefit for this game. Let's have some perspective.

2 pcs 10 clients each. Full party + store toon. Any dedicated player can easily achieve this. There are plenty of people not running 2 full parties. It's bit of an exaggeration.

Adena shop is a good mechanism that rewards real players over bots. They can also consider increasing the daily limit on shots/ores.

All in all I think it is a step in the right direction to have some form of a client limit. Game balance is heavily contingent on the extent of multi-boxing.

It is just temporary. I can bet that in few hours RoA will be full of bots again (as well as the rest of locations).

  2. And, setting my usual sarcasm and extra (sometimes - passive-aggressive) politeness aside, I will be dead serious here.

I'm paying customer (and highly paying customer), so I want answers to the below and publicly, please do not tell me "cut a ticket". This problem is of public interest.

@Juji, @Hime, could you please answer one simple question: was that move (limit of 10 windows per computer) made to achieve one or both of the below goals (because there are no other possible (not even saying positive) impacts):

    • Encourage last remaining legit players to start using illegal software to workaround that limit?
    • Encourage people leave, as it is impossible with current drops to pay for shots (not even saying about buying equipment) for one's main party if you don't have farm party which farms adena not using shots?

I suspect that clear and honest answer to this question will help to dot l's and cross T's.

I specifically have bought my new PC and recently upgraded RAM to be able to run more clients (and I'm not using bot, it is just 1 main and 1 farm parties + couple of shops). Do you suggest that I should buy another? Why would you think it is a good thing to do? Which problem are you trying to solve? Why running 20 client on 2 PCs is any better than running 20 on the same PC?

Fun part of this is that bots don't need to buy another PC, they will just buy illegal software to workaround this, while legit players will suffer. And even if such software didn't exist, there are 1000s of dirt-cheap used PCs on eBay and with the profits bots make by doing RMT they can easily afford buying any number of these rigs to overcome the limit.

Also, seeing all inaction of NC related to bots, while the anti-bot/bot detection (but, technically speaking - just intrusive spyware/rootkit) collects and reports information on those who do use bot to NC - a lot of questions and concerns arise.

Having thought logically I have only three possibilities here:

    • NC is trying to boost sales of used PCs on eBay
    • NC is trying to boost sales of certain illegal (according to NC's EULA) software
    • NC made a mistake by limiting the number of clients, as didn't fully analyze the impact of such move

I leave it to the public to make a conclusion which one of this is more likely, but I would like to hear from either @Hime and/or @Juji which one of these is the real one.

Having said all of the above, as a paying customer, who does not get quality of service he is paying for, I do DEMAND removal of the 10 window limit, as it does not help to solve ANY of the problems Lineage 2 Classic has and is absolutely pointless (unless your goal was to achieve one of the above). Please fix this terrible unfortunate mistake. I would really appreciate this.

P.S. Worst case scenario, if, for whatever reasons (i.e. Korean HQ demanding to introduce this limit) you need to have certain limit - set it to something reasonable - 9+9 (parties) + 5 (shops/craft shops/market checker) = 23, so let's round it up to 24 or 25. It is, probably, maximum number of clients could be run on current conventional not-so-overpowered hardware (ofc if one does not have 3990x with 64C/128T and 2Tb RAM).

my clan mater just have 10 windows just to sell items because it takes long to sell with low real pop :D

Oh, you are absolutely right, I forgot to mention shops. Problem with shops could be solved by reverting decision to make fish untradable - that way people could fish themselves sell/buy slots expansion tickets. But even with that - it won't be enough - 9 ppl party + 1 shop - already hit the limit :/

    With this maintenance:

    • The game client will now be restricted to 10 clients per PC.

That's very unfortunate, as some people (me included) run one main party and one farming party. I do understand that it might be an attempt to fight bots, quite strange one - you could have easily ban them without setting this limit, you have all the data needed for that.

Moreover, from my understanding bot software does effectively hide from your bot detection software built into client, so this limit most likely won't affect bots, but instead - will affect legit players like myself.

I would really appreciate if you could analyze the current situation better and undo that unfortunate mistake.

    Thanks in advance!

The event and regular version of the Lv. 2 Dragon's Special Elixir will be deleted tomorrow. The Dragon's Special Elixir from the Night Market Treasure Chest is Lv. 1 and is not included for deletion. There is a red notice on the tooltips of items that are scheduled to be deleted along with the countdown.

Oh, my bad, I probably have to check my eyes. Thanks for your prompt clarification!

  6. I support this request, especially that we do know that this feature is still there - i.e. you can see debuff effects (visuals) on mobs, players. On Olympiad we can see debuffs on the opponent.

I do appreciate your efforts recently to improve customer experience, some of them were really really good, but this specific problem causes a lot of headache to your loyal customers.

I would greatly appreciate if you could give us an update on the current status of fix.

    Thanks a million!

      • Dragon's Special Elixir Lv. 2 - Event and Regular version

I sincerely apologize, but why regular version will be deleted? It does not have expiry date on it, as well as people were getting them from night coin boxes, which is a paid product. I don't think it is good customer experience when first you sell them something and then take it away.

Please correct me if I'm wrong and this is acceptable experience and/or I'm mixing something up?

    Thanks in advance!

  8. Hello @Juji,

Could you please clarify on the 16th Anniversary Bonus Pack terms. Is it only code needs to be applied to character before expiry, but if items are already with Dimensional Merchant - they will be safe and won't expire and I don't need to pick them up right now?

    https://forums.lineage2.com/topic/18734-classic-server-maintenance-wednesday-june-17-2020/

    It says

    • The 16th Anniversary Bonus Pack coupon code will expire next week. Be sure to claim the pack before it expires.

Or items need to be picked up from dimensional merchant as well?

    Thanks in advance for clarification!

We added a mouse-over display for the minimap radar that shows the server time and your local time, which should help with event start/end times.

    image.png

    Thanks, really great feature! <3

But it seems it is incorrect?

As, for example Olympiad is happening (according to to text in Olympiad window) 22:00-23:00, but in reality in my local time (Ireland) it happens 23:00-00:00. And currently this mouseover shows me that my time is identical to server time? Maybe you are not using Daylight Savings Time modifiers when calculating this?

  10. Hi!

I've noticed that Spike (dwarven buff) does not work on 2h blunts anymore, only on 1h blunts, while Weapon reinforcement (dwarven selfbuff) does work for both 1h and 2h blunts.

Spike: Adds a spike to a blunt weapon. P. Atk. +10% and Stun accretion +15% for 20 minutes.

Weapon Reinforcement: Sharpens a spear or blunt weapon. For 20 minutes, P. Atk. +7% and when the enemy is wounded, Atk. Spd./Casting Spd. -10% at a set chance.

Neither of the skill descriptions say that it is for 1h only or both 1h and 2h, they both say just "blunt" and one works, the other - does not, which does not seem correct.

I remember Spike working on 2h blunts before. @Juji, is there a chance to get Spike fixed in future updates?

Thanks in advance and really appreciate your help with this!

Success/Failure rates for all things L2 need to be posted officially. Boxes give absolute trash in this event. Seems to be a given with most box events. But everything from enchanting to compounding runes seems to have an extremely low chance of success. Examples: Compounded 200+ runes today, got nothing. Took 7 ASEWA to go from +15 to +16. Used 17 Dual craft S stamps to craft 1 set of duals. Either I have very bad luck, or some things are designed to be broken.

Unfortunately, in US, where their legal entity is registered, it is not required by law to post such probabilities. In EU they would have do that.

Having said that it would be nice if they did this even without law requiring them to do so.

And on the boxes - description clearly says that you get one piece of armor, not even single word about set. You are lucky that they didn't interpret "piece" as _fabric_ for crafting A grade armor :D

    • Reduced the quest requirements for the Beginning of Adventure Quest in Ruins of Agony. The number of monsters required to complete the quest has been reduced from 300 to 15.

My assumption here is that this is probably a mistake and should read as:

    • We decided to ban all bots who are farming adena in Ruins of Agony to allow players to complete the quest 'Beginning of Adventure'
