Collection is a big part of the game, but isn't a big part of your dmg output for the cost.
U can largely ignore it until you are very end game in gear. The cost to benefit on most collections logs is terrible.

Plunderous used to be a place to farm adena. Then they changed the area to make it a waste of time (2 updates ago I believe). This is still current content even though no official port exists to go there.
Edit: I like doing what you're doing. Randomly explore this massive world that has been left to rot away by Ncsoft.

note that in cities there are more people buying items than selling
and those who sell sell at prices that I find difficult to write here because it is an insult hahahaha
You will need like 1k+ boxes for a blood or claw sadly.

The cheaper way to make limited is dark the weapon 1st, then buy all the bloody wep stones to finish limited.
If you are considering a limited wep upgrade from bloody r110, the cost of remaking the weapon or the stones shouldn't be an issue.
If this upgrade is a massive cost to you in comparison with your other gear, I would advise putting whatever adena you have into other upgrades that will push your dmg output up more instead of going for limited.

the best I have arrived at for solo hunting is shadow chase - grim reaper - heart breaker - bluff - blood stab - chain blow - shadow reverse
it mostly works, but with GH and the whole mobs back thing it sometimes doesn't. Open to suggestions.
shadow chase > heartbreaker > chain blow > shadow reverse > repeat
or
shadow chase > blood stab > heartbreaker > chain blow > shadow reverse > repeat
dont use crit wound, it helps evisc and patk tyrs only
dont use bluff as shadow chase should be up quick and moves distance better than bluff. bluff is good for specific mobs that resist confusion and pvp.
grim reaper you can add in, but i doubt it makes a difference on your xp.
blood stab can be used, but if shadow chase fails its a waste of a skill to use. i would use directly after shadow chase or right after heartbreaker. test both ways though and see what works for you.
edit: regarding cloak prices. theyre about as cheap as they will get during an event. a +10 elmore will be 200-300b non event easily.

that depends on the place you hunt, but yes, you should see a damage increase after the upgrade. The 150 extra element could mean 15% more dmg in the right situation. The weapon will have more base patk, which will equate to more damage as well. the main upggrade is the 150 extra element though and the future upgrade path to limited. r99 should only be see as a stepping stone on a toon you want to main.

+13 still very good.
to go higher, you would use a royal gold save ticket or a grand kain enchant or a destro scroll.
royal golds go up or down, and can go up to +30/31/32
grand kains can only be used up to +20
destros only work to +15 i think, you dont see many of these anymore
i would upgrade because u also get 150 more element on r110. You can also upgrade to limited at r110 for even more dmg.

I was 101. With the pots from the watermelon event, and lots of pity IT parties for the 20trillion quest from old friends from Teon I 've gotten to 106 and 105ed my dual. I was aware it's borderline silly continuing the old char vs starting new, but funk it, sentimentality and all that. And now I am past the point where the 7 day rune would have helped.
I did buy the blessed exalted armor set, IMHO it was worth it if only for the pots. I am buying Artifacts. Cloak was a non starter, they go for silly prices in Naia, and self enchanting yielded a +1 elmore from 40 enchants, so yeah I 'll revisit that later. I am currently on the lookout for a belt, and have bought and enchanted R110 daggers, and next upgrade will be to bloody them (even though technically that means they will never get to limited with the dark stone shortage). Got decent for now (but not top 100bil type Crit Damage etc) dyes. Jewels, I am running with the lvl 3s from the exalted quest and awaiting an event for those and the brooch.
I will admit though, the cost of everything vs the 5000 adena per mob you get is daunting ... and while I am willing to spend rl money, I 'm not really willing to spend new car levels of rl money. So ... we 'll see how it goes.
adena comes from spending ncoin for evnet items and selling them for adena or farming adena zones like isle of souls or tower of insolence. these places are 110+ areas though.

depends what you want to get out of the game, but its meant to be an idler type game that runs 24/7 farming and earning xp. its not built to be played 100% by hand for a few hours a day if you do not intend to run the characters after you are done playing.
as for free 2 play having fun, it really depends what you want from a gaming experience. most parties are created to do dailies or setup afk xp. dailies will be hard as a pure f2p toon unless you are support.
