  1. My fortune seeker spams spoil crush and sweeper festival when I use auto hunt on it. Sweeper festival isn't even supposed to work with autohunt as you cannot right click it. Spoil crush continues to be spammed even after I right clicked to activate and then again to deactivate. Autohunt doesn't care and will prioritize spoil crush over armor crush regardless of positioning or if spoil crush is even activated...

Spoiling is utterly worthless for me so I'm MUCH rather have the MP used on armor crush which is actually useful.  Since sweeper festival is 12 MP autohunt always spams it depriving the character of MP to use on armor crush..

It's bad enough that dwarfs are basically useless now since their carry capacity is irrelevant (shots can't be crafted, traded, and weigh 0), their spoil rate is extremely low, the items spoiled are worthless, and their dps is pretty abysmal. Now I can't even take advantage of the one thing left that the dwarf brings to the party (stun/armor reduction).

EDIT : I managed to get mostly around the problem by activating a repeat macro of /armor crush /attack /pickup. It doesn't seem to have time to spam spoil crush or sweeper festival with that macro running.

You want to make classic great again?

Bring back the 3 windows per pc policy.
Bring back (was never here unfortunately) the equipment drop when killed by monsters.
Bots will be reduced dramatically with this feature. A year ago everyone was crying in order not to implement this feature that is from day 1 in any other ncsoft classic server.

You know I don't understand the obsession with limiting clients per PC. Bots don't care about those limits and those are the real problem. Those boxing characters would only be minorly inconvenienced as you can buy SFF business machines more than capable of running 3 lineage 2 clients for $30 or less off ebay or craigslist. My i5 sff business machines pull about 35 watts each from the wall when running 3 lineage 2 clients. Three of those machines running pulls less power than my main machine running one client.. There are other ways to get past that limit without buying more machines but I won't cover that in case it is against the TOS or whatever.

Equipment drop on death is another thing some people seem to think will solve all the problems. The reality is we had that for well over a decade and even combined with pay to buy the game then pay more monthly to play there were still massive bot trains everywhere (including farmers PKing to protect said bot trains and their areas). It would have no noticeable affect on bots but it would screw over the legit players greatly. You think summoner bots are a problem now well you aint seen nothing just make equipment drop a thing and all you'll see are summoner bots.I have no interest in going back to that time when people would invest hours harassing others just in the hopes an item might drop. I have no interest in having another thing that massively motivates people to NOT party up. It's already hard enough to get a party now with xp loss and the lack of drops from monsters. Adding in equipment drop on death would only make it worse.

As stated prior this is 2020 and there are a variety of very successful MMORPGs to play that reward the player for reaching high levels or noodling around....A friend of mine started playing archeage: unchained (the non p2w version) after the last L2 patch made him quit and he's so busy doing random non level related fun stuff that he's not even close to max level yet. Meanwhile in L2 I can check the mains to delete useless drops and make sure the vend character is vending and I'm done for the day....

After my game friends quit L2 I dedicated my secondary group accounts to farming adena for my mains so I could use some shots on my mains. I stopped that when I took my two week break from the game. I've left them offline because I am not putting that much effort into this game anymore.  VIP is now down to 3 or less on all accounts and will continue to tick down.

    EDIT:

    Quote

Bot parties will always exist but players who don't have bot parties should be able to acquire their equipment through regular grind in groups in some of the more hard areas.

Exactly this game should be rewarding people for investing their time. Every other major MMORPG allows advancement of characters through in game activity that doesn't require 1000s of hours of grind.

  3. Remember when we had things to do in the old real classic days?

We could level up pets for the lulz and epic mount.

We could use the manor system to gain more when grinding. Clans also benefited from the manor system if they managed it properly.

When there were multiple castles so multiple clans could have a castle each. How that sometimes caused unexpected losses of castles by the dominate group because they got caught with their pants down while messing with some other castle. How it kept the taxes in check as owners competed for purchases.

When even small clans could grab a fort to use. Allowing for small groups to enjoy content in the game.

When seven signs was a real thing that allowed non bots to make money via AA and dawn/dusk shenanigans.

All of which was removed for "game design decisions".....

Compared to the big MMORPGs Lineage 2 has very little to do in game. The only reason I'm even still playing is because of the afk boxing and nostalgia.

do you have any idea what MMORPG stands for? Like massive MULTIPLAYER? Get a clan, go party farm, not with ur boxes!!
It is hypocritical to demand a server change, cry on forum and IG but at the same time your swarm of alt characters farm all the good areas where other real humans with real characters can't farm sh*t or even worse, get constantly pk-ed.
So yeah, let's make a revolution! Let's start with ourselves! Delet all ur alt characters, bots, boxes or whatever u call them. Oh, but you won't do that....

Do you have any idea how classic really was? Because boxing was a standard part of Lineage 2 since beta in 2004. The party finder is empty and that's not surprising because even in the pay to play era people didn't party with unknowns. The reason being the potential XP loss is huge and few to no people are willing to risk it for randoms that might be trolling or simply bad at the game. Add on top the greed of people magnified by the lack of drops and you get a recipe for no PUGs.

The rest is you just making up crap so you can feel better about trying to ruin my 16 year gameplay experience. At my peak I ran two parties and those parties weren't even on the same server. I started on a server with friends who all quit. I found new friends on discord on another server so I created a group there (all accounts were VIP including my vendors) to do stuff with them. The last of them quit when the last "update" was rolled out. So now I am just running my main accounts which I'm positive aren't swarming a good area or PKing anyone.

I had quit for a few weeks but decided to try something out  So until that bores me I'll still be around.

Of course I won't delete my accounts as there's no reason to do so. It would be a dumb move. I did stop buying stuff to maintain my VIP levels.

EDIT : I"m not looking for a revolution I'm looking for basic gameplay elements including the UI to be fixed. These all effect you too.

In my opinion 1 is enough, if you need better buffs or more damage, find a party. that's a multiplayer game after all.

I paid for my boxes during pay to play starting in 2005. For each account I paid for the game then I paid monthly for years. It would be utter bullcrap to try to take away my boxes because some free to play players don't find it fair..

Besides good luck limiting that as I have 9 sff desktops to throw at Lineage 2.

EDIT : I'd like to know where you're able to get decent xp with only two characters in your 80s.

  6. HAHA oh sweet summer child.. Originally you had to purchase the game and then pay a monthly subscription.  Bots were still everywhere and so were the gold sellers. They used a variety of tactics mostly involving stolen information. Back in like 2005 I would buy my month subscription cards at best buy off the shelf new in the box. One of those cards was already used before I even opened the box. Fortunately NcSoft responded quickly and credited the time to the account. It seemed like something they had dealt with many times prior. That was the only time I ran into that problem fortunately.

I would at least like the UI to be fixed so I can tell what character name I'm on without having to move it around. I would also like to be able to see my CP bar. Of course there is the Debuff issues and the fact that quest access is buried for no reason now.

    - put a limit on the accounts that you can login at the same time like the old days.

I don't remember there being a limit. What was it? I mean I was only running 1 account in closed/open beta moving up to 4 into 2005. But by the time I had four accounts I was running two machines for efficient boxing.

Good luck with that though as a $50 business machine off ebay can run 5 copies of L2 fine and bots don't care about client limits...

  8. The problem is the Korean devs are in control of what we get and the lineage 2 team don't seem to understand the game at all. I'd be amazed if any of them actually play the game because their "gameplay design decisions" are utterly unfathomable. I would LOVE to know why they think showing debuffs applied to a monster is now suddenly after 17 years a horrible thing that needed removed.

I have more than a sneaking suspicion that NCsoft's mobile profits are driving these decisions. Right now the biggest source of revenue for NcSoft are mobile games. PC games make up a much smaller fraction of their income and the higher ups are probably pressuring the PC developers to implement changes so that the PC based games will make more money.  Maybe we'll get a ncstore item so we can see debuffs but it'll be useable like 20 times before having to buy another for 5 bucks.... Or they are just making changes so they can push the same build to the mobile market....

I have right now without any buff 1148 mattack +3top a weapon pendant water and 45 INT

Because a friend of mine with all buffs he have almost 4k mattack and i get maybe 2.5k

he is 83 level but i dont think 7 level difference Will increase so much

OE weapon? Tattoos? talismans? P2W items involved? The difference between level 76 and 83 was huge for my characters but I don't have a caster at that level so I cannot comment based on experience for that..

I think is something wrong or bugged with my character . i have +3 wep top a mage and i have very low m attack for example and other stats also. can GM chech my stats if there is something bugged please. i have learned weapon mastery but only gives +2 or 3 points to m attack and the skill says it gives for example +105 at level 76 :/.

    Character archmage level 76 mblanco.

If there isnt nothing wrong so just answer.

    Thanks for helping.

Your wording is a bit confusing so I'm going to try to answer it based on what I believe you're saying.

At level 74 weapon mastery gives +99.3 Matk. The level 76 skill gives 4.7 more Matk over the 74 skill. It's not a huge amount so you won't see much of an increase in the actual stat window.

A screenshot of your stats would be more helpful.

If you read the whole announcement it says "vast improvements to VIP system" so wait and see. Although @Juji this will make crafting super hard as most of the mats for A grade and higher are very difficult to farm like Mold Lubricant, Hardener, Adamantite nugget, etc. Anyways will wait for the changes to see.

The last "update" was supposed to bring vast improvements and you see how that turned out; We got a broken poor quality mobile based UI, repeat macros were removed, marking targets was removed, seeing debuffs was removed, the action icon was removed (and the quest icon is it still there?), selling drops to the NPC was removed, cheaper spirit shots were removed, the fifth hotkey bar was removed, and more.....

I would love to have a discussion with the developers so I could try to understand how this is supposed to be a vast improvement. Because litterly every person I've talked to has the opposite opinion. Well the few people I knew who were still playing. Right now none of them are playing and even I have quit logging in as there's no point.

hello everyone especially at GM why not give the soulshot by grade?

    teleportation by village and castles?

to limit boxes to 4 by ip?

I would like to find my game as before because now it no longer looks like anything. what do you think ???

Dumbing down soulshots was a "game design decision" so it'll never be reversed despite dealing the deathblow to the dwarf class as a whole. Kind of wish they'd put a warning in so if some new player actually joins the game they won't waste their time trying to level a dwarf. Dwarfs are now inferior in every way and have no use.

When was there a limit on boxes. I boxed four accounts in 2004 which expanded from there over the years.

Trying to limit anything by IP is an extremely stupid idea AND ineffective. First off I can get around an IP limit easily.

Second off there are many reasons why multiple people would be playing under the same IP without even living in the same building.

We need to solve the adenas problem in a transparent and agile way. Buying adena from sellers seems to be the only alternative for those who want to continue farming their high level partys. We understand that the server needs a lot, a lot of work is being done, but we need to direct efforts to keep gameplay and players happy within our servers.
    Thanks

I recently quit the game because I was tired of having to run twenty accounts just to level. I had my main nine man group level in the 80s with one maybe two DPS using shots. To afford said shots and some minor gear improvements I also had to run a nine man low level party that used no shots and two vendor accounts to vend the barely above useless drops. That gave me the option of running shots on three of the 8x DPS with very little left over or run fewer shots so I could save more adena. With the current A grade related costs there's no real way I can hope to afford A grade armor or even over enchanted. Considering it took me 26 items just to get a three piece d grade knowledge set to +6 I'm nowhere near able to afford to do that on a five piece B set. It takes about a month of no shot usage at all and some lucky sales on the vendor accounts to maybe afford one of the rare cheap A grade weapons (with rune otherwise it's not worth it).  I hear there's S grade in game?

EDIT : In case you're wondering all my accounts had VIP 1-3 including the vend accounts as I used them to help level up a replacement character in my main party.

Dear @Juji and @Hime! Is there any chance to hear position of administration about current situation with ingame economy crysis?

Increasing adena drops at midle and hight lvl areas will solve this issue and both sides will be more satisfied. Players will can cover theyr hunting costs of shots and spirit ores and will can make some reserves of adena wich can be used for stimulation of market. In same time players who using L2store for turn items from store into adena will can buy at L2store and sell more items to players who decided do not spend real money for game but wanna enjoy p2w events by paying with adena gathered from hunting.

Current situation with amount of items from L2store and negative prices dynamic will be resulting in decreasing popularity of L2store in future cuz much easyer and profitable will be buy adena directly from services supported by bots then spend real money for items wich with hight risk will can't sell to other players who simple will be out of adena.

    With best regards!

The situation wouldn't be nearly as bad if the old shot system still existed. Players crafting shots react to economic pressures. A NPC vendor with artificially high shot prices doesn't care. The dumbification of shots continues to hurt everyone especially the dwarfs who lost three reasons for even existing (shot storage/craft/sell).

Doesn't anyone think it's unfair that a single castle generates taxes in all cities?

I think it's unfair ncsoft keeps removing content from the game as "updates". Remember when non mega clans were able to hold castles? Remember when even small clans were able to get forts? Remember when there were things to do in game other than grind?

Pepperidge farms might remember but NcSoft sure doesn't...

    I remember the event ;)

Biggest fail ever. /target Fioti :ppp

I was around 50-60 lvl at the time in all my chars, and luckily i decided to only use some of the xp scrolls and only climb up 10 lvls, as im a mage and no SP would have me unable to farm.

My friends went from 55 to 75 in that event. They quit the game shortly after :/

There were so many 75s with 55 lvl skills lol.

Yea i remember that excuse.. SP would be too much... lol ! Those devs have never played this game.

On Giran by the time of the second cake there were already characters named Fioti, mysterious, cake, etc....I setup full macros on all my account after the first crapshow of a cake spawn.

Even though I was careful in what skills I picked my party was still full of level 70s with low level 50s skills..

  17. 4 hours ago, Ingwaz said:

Those scrolls are best saved for much later in game.

Not much u can do about it besides be patient and level up.

SP will continue to be an issue until lvl 80. After that u dont worry abt SP again.

Any time i lvl up a char i only upgrade the very basic skills needed for farming. Max 3-4 skills per level  nothing else until u can afford the SP.

Try to save those scrolls for the future.

Yeah my scenario was made worse because the incompetent Korean devs devised an event where everyone had to go to the same town at two designated times each day to spam an item on a cake that spawned for XP and SP. Not surprisingly this caused server stability issues as the botters brought droves of accounts and the event was basically canceled after a couple days. The "compensation" was turned into daily scrolls that gave only XP because the aforementioned incompetent devs said that giving SP too would be too much..

I have no idea who they have working on this game but it's clear they don't really understand it or the players. The last "update" being the latest example of this ignorance. .

  18. The changes to the drops would of possibly gone better if you could still craft shots. The players crafting react to market pressures with their pricing. The problem is amplified by the unification of shots to one type. Giving NG/D/C grade weapons all the same shot usage rate resulted in a massive increase in shot costs for all three grades. Which happens to be what the newbies can be expected to use. Having NG shots nearly triple in price was just ridiculous...

I started on my classic server day one. My little group relied heavily on drops I found. I bought NG shots in bulk in giran and was able to use the shots on most of my dps. If I started now I wouldn't be able to use shots at all and leveling up would be even more miserable as the supplied shots run out fairly fast just doing the quests. NG and D weapons pretty much don't exist on the market (shot cost and removal of grade limits killed that) and even C grade items can be hard to find.

Unfortunately, the bot identification system didn't work, they banned you, but the dungeons were still full of bots, and elsewhere.

A Gm could be logged on the server, and go to some points and identify where the bots are, it is very easy to find them.

Hopefully they'll repair the damage you've done.

I've seen a marked decrease in bots in areas under level 70. I was able to find a spot in ROA quickly near the entrance as there were far fewer bots. The gorgon area was almost completely free of bots. Normally those two areas are overflowing with bots.  The lower level necros and catacombs are definitely less populated. There are definitely some bot parties running around among the macro/auto hunters but it's been noticeably fewer. I just figured the people quit or they moved their characters on to higher level stuff. Now after seeing complaints of bans I'm somewhat convinced NcWest might of been involved.

Your experience may vary depending on the server you're playing.

EDIT : I also could of wandered through those areas during the magical hour where the bots are deleveling or logged off or something.
