Hello, the ruins of agony and abandoned camp got filled with farming bots again! After the update it was awesome, no bots to be seen. But only two days passed and there were all the bots destroying the game again. It has become unplayable. When I kill the bots, so that I can complete quests I get negative karma!!! What is happening! Also it is incredibly unfair to grind, while others have an army of farm bots. Will anything be done about this? I need to know please, because otherwise it makes no sense to play this anymore. In the worst case they could at least publish the bot, so that everyone can use it.

Hi! I'm a new player in the server (veteran L2 player in illegal servers) and because of the ruins of agony & abandoned camp situation today i seriously considered leaving. Its impossible to kill a single mob. After thinking about it in depth, i was able to get a couple of answers, but first the situation:

- These are clearly adena farming bots, they are all White elven mages, because they require little equipment at the beggining, its a well oiled and automated machine where they get buffs at Gludin GK before going to farm, and go back to their place after being killed, the only thing you get after killing them all and clearing the area is a huge increase in your PK count and penalties. This is not the approach.

- A secondary/dependent economy has appeared where there are players (not sure if bots or not) that only purpose is to pick up all the items the bots leave on the ground. These are all dwarves because of the carrying capacity/weight limit.

- The begginer quests send all the new players to the same area: first ruins of agony, then abandoned camp. Both areas give a good amount of XP and adena for the lvl, and have a nice density of monsters, so you have  good efficiency there. The main problem is that its impossible to fulfill the quest requirements killing the monsters because the bots one-spell kill all the mobs, and all the area is filled with bots. If you are lucky you'll find a little area where there are 2 monsters that arent reached by any bot and you can kill those (if there is not another desperate player using that area already). You have to kill 300 monsters in abandoned camp and its really difficult to do it in the current situation.

So, a proposed solution that is not perfect but would improve the situation:

- Lineage 2 has a huge map, that is one of the reasons i love the game, as a veteran player i know all the zones to lvl up at any lvl from the C4 to H5 maps.... DONT SEND ALL THE NEW PLAYERS TO THE SAME AREA. Expand the list of monsters that give you the quest items. BUT dont increase the amount of monsters (density of monsters in the zone) or the amount of adena the monsters give in these other areas, this would attract the bots. Basically what i'm saying is: leave the shitty areas to the honest players, at least let us do a solid progress in the starting-up quests. Some of these areas (if not changed in this version) are:

Ruins of Despair, Dion hills, Plains of Dion, Cruma marshlands, the outside of town of Gludio, Partisans Hideaway, Orc barracks, Forgotten Temple, Windmill Hill maybe?...
I used to go a lot to Execution Grounds but that zone is not spawning monsters anymore. Catacombs of Heretics is closed, idk if its for some seven-signs stuff or if this is permanent... Because of density of monsters, probably low-lvl catacombs and necropolis would be a bot-magnet anyways.

- I'm not sure if the bots use the bot-systen that is implemented in the game, but if they do, making the Manner Mode obligatory would help a little bit.

Other ideas i had:

- Is the PK system more severe? i dont remember getting that much karma when killing. If that is lowered maybe doing a mass-murder of white elven low-level wizards would be an option for lvl 40+ players with a lot of hate to adena farms. I've seen that PK system was a hot topic in the forums with bully players so i understand the measures and that is a complex topic, so dont consider this one too seriously, probably will give more problems than solutions.

- i've noticed a reduction in the amount of aggressive monsters in low lvl areas. (some monsters that i remember being agressive are now passive), Increasing the ammount of aggresive monsters would be a measure against bots (and unexperienced players... but they'll grow eventually) overall. I though about this one, and i believe it wont have a big impact on the adena farms, the number of bots that these farms have is just too overwhelming and its suprising how these elven wizards just one-shot everything.

The solutions are simple and noted in these forums for over a year now. The fact is noone wants to do anything. Somthing as simple as an admin logging in for 30min could easily ban over 100 accounts on the spot.

That would actually be awesome. That's all that's needed. Can we get an answer from NCSoft here?

Remove adena drop in these locatioms and problem solved.

That wont solve anything. If you eliminate the best place, they will move to the next best. They will keep moving until no adena drops at all in the world.

Well they did some adjustments to the respawn rates these past maintenances, even if its a small change it is a step towards the right direction. Lets hope with this weeks maintenance the drop rates and L2Coin issues get addressed so people can at least go back to farming normally.

I'm sorry to say but the game is in dire straits at the moment. If feels hopeless. Bots farming non-stop is so nerve-racking, but I was lucky today while I was doing the 25-30 lvl quest in abandoned camp with my cleric, as I found a perfect spot at the very edge of the area with 10 mobs respawning relatively fast, so I guess it was OKish... It's not just the lack of mobs to kill, it's also the constant lag and DC's on top of that which makes it really frustrating.

It's just a total mess now, but I can remember when I last played in early 2020 on Giran the situation was similar.

Unfortunately the situation has not improved, but I believe that it is the way that the Staff has to throw in the towel (abandon) the server and leave the command and dispose of some players of very bad character, behavior, which now dictate how things go on the server. It is easy to do this when you have over 85, it is easy to oppress a wave of players who do not use bots. Server today was summed up to 3 5 people controlling the bot's use server, farm areas, etc., with the blessing of the Staff that does not manifest itself.

I have talked to many people who play on other official servers, something very common that On official X server there are no bots. Log in maximum 3 accounts and period.
Hearing this makes you understand that it is a button on the server that you define if you leave it on/off releasing the bots or not.

In Classic this button seems to have broken on "released" and this has caused a lot of problems. Now with the arrival of the New Essence server (Aden) I hope that Classic doesn't get abandoned anymore. That at NcSoft there is someone who still cares about Classic and with a minimum to keep the classic, valid to play:

* No bot (dominating the world)
* Quest, you need it, will bring the server to life with something so simple and that already exists, just reactivate.
* Events for people, active (not for bots, as in general the winners of previous events were summed up in the bots)
* Revitalize the dwarves, such a cool race, that it was destroyed.
* PK systems are super favored, you have to reverse it, PK is bad, bad karma, not what we see in the game. Had to have Karma Hero (PK hunters)

Either revitalize the Classic, or be frank and tell us your goals. So we decide whether to spend our time here, hoping for improvement, or looking for a new server.

In a little while there will be an event to celebrate the birthdays of errors on the server! :/

Some things have been done.
I've been hoping that every Wednesday the antbot is up to date and the bots don't really come back anymore.

But all the other things I mentioned in this post deserve attention.

We would like to know if NcSoft has been looking into this and realizes the importance of the points raised here. @Hime @Juji  what would be NcSoft's position on this?

I would say that Lineage's clock depends purely and simply on communication.
 180px-Doomsday_clock_(1.67_minutes).svg.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if the "Forum" really worked as a channel for interaction between staff and the few players who come here.

I see in L2 server advertisements :
"Staff active"
"Quests"
"PK Rules"

everything we advocate being fixed here.
