  1. Yes and there were downsides to PKing that were also an integral part of the game. THose downsides are non existent right now.
  2. Removing teleport in combat would be a massive change. Suddenly you can chase down a PKer and kill them instead of them instantly disappearing. There would actually be somewhat of a risk when PKing. While not nearly as much as a risk as in the real classic era it's still better then what we have now.
  3. I usually agree with you but you're dead wrong with this post. PK was an integral part of the game when summons had much shorter ranges and their attacks did a fraction of the damage they do now. PK was an integral part of the game when the only means of teleporting was via skill or scroll scroll usage or by clicking a gatekeeper IN TOWN. Now PKs can instantly teleport out of trouble to any teleport destination on the map. It's utterly broken and nothing like how the classic experience was. A Now tell me how to adapt to that?
  4. Probably because being level 70 something with mid level 50s skills (and c grade) makes the game more difficult. Personally I wanted to hold them so I could recover from XP loss in PVP or PVE. The lack of SP was the problem...
  5. My favorite part is how they deleted all the box stuff too and they didn't even mention that. They did say the scrolls were going to be deleted.
  6. Well a big part of the problem with the EU servers are the PKers who gate content by requiring you to pay them money so they leave you alone....We're heading that way already on these servers as some summoner Pker's are clearing areas for their clan or money. It's only going to get worse as more people get their pony PKers online. There is litterly no downside for a pony PKer right now. Mount up use your summon to kill someone well out of their range and if someone does happen to get remotely near just one click removes all danger as you instantly teleport to town. It's stupid broken and I have no idea what the fck is wrong with ncwest and ncsoft for allowing this. That kind of crap WILL make me quit the game permanently as there are just too many better options out there now for pvp and pve. I'm only sticking around at this point because of some friends and nostalgia....
  7. First off Ncwest is not dealing in RMT that's just absurd. It's incredibly illegal and a mega corporation like NCsoft isn't going to let a subsidiary (ncwest) risk the future of the company for a pittance of money. What you're describing is extremely illegal and the US government along with the Korean would come down hard on NcSoft for such activity. The bots have gotten ridiculous I agree but the bot report button was basically useless anyway. People were spamming it on key enemies during PVP and regular players like me were dealing with multiple captchas a day while playing legit. With the newer features of auto-hunt and repeating macros the button became just a griefing tool. It never elicited anything beyond a captcha anyway. If you wanted to report a bot you need(ed) to do so via a petition. Even if clients were limited to two per machine I would still rock my 9 accounts as I have 10 computers at my disposal Six of them are i5 machines which I acquired for roughly $300 total. Plenty powerful to run two accounts. If there were more viable areas to level then the bots wouldn't be quite as annoying as you could just go somewhere else. As it is now there are whole areas of the game that are empty because leveling there isn't remotely profitable, too difficult, and/or perma reds are constantly running through. Well not really running so much as riding a mount while their pony one or two shots everyone +1000 distance away. Even if someone does manage to start to catch up to the PK they are one click away from instant safety.. It's stupid and so broken that I can't even figure out why NCsoft thinks it's a great idea.
  8. Yeah there appears to be no limit still as I was able to log in 9 accounts on my secondary machine.
  9. If there is a limit currently then it's more than five as I just logged five clients into one of my machines. I didn't want to interrupt my farming to test more clients.
  10. Nvidia's "ray tracing" is a gimmick that isn't even real ray tracing. It's not going to end up in this game nor should it. Not saying real ray tracing won't appear in the future but it will take substantially more powerful hardware to make it real time.
  11. On giran I've been having issues with mats not selling unless I cut the price dramatically when compared to historical pricing. Starting about a week or so ago I've had to cut my prices by about 40% to get stuff to move otherwise it sits for days. Even then some mats are just not selling. I'm not sure what that means but it doesn't seem good. My main characters are barely affording shots now. Plated leather sets are selling for less than 6 mill pretty consistently now (I see a couple sets for 5.3m right now)and full plated armor is down to 6ish mill. Full plate sets were selling for around 10m just last week. I mention those sets because they had both been fairly consistently priced for months. I could understand pressure causing the prices to gradually drop over time but this has been a dramatic drop over a relatively short period of time. EDIT : THe highest grade stuff I'm selling is B grade.
  12. NCsoft's troubles are entirely their own fault. They've had many chances to make it big in the long term and they keep screwing it up by being stubborn and greedy (short sighted). When Aion came out they had a real wow killer with millions of copies sold. Too bad they were too greedy and stubborn to fix the RNG issues until the game was already hemorrhaging players. They never did get around to doing anything effective about the bots because that would cost money. Similar story for lineage 2 in the early days. They had a solid playerbase but refused to do anything serious about the bots/hacks and used only token counter measures like game guard because it's cheaper than investing into real anti-bot/cheat systems and hiring GMs. Combine that with a terrible work environment brought on by several factors including shortsightedness on the managements part and that's how they got to this point. It's really sad.
  13. Fair enough we could just choose to not participate in the event which kind of defeats the purpose of having an event in the first place.
  14. Those being the same devs who didn't have enough foresight to realize that in a free to play game with no account number restrictions that a large number of people would log in hundreds of accounts via bots to aim for the OverPowered first place prizes?? That putting all those PCs into one spot wouldn't cause issues?? really?? So +15 weapons and stuff perfectly fine... A decent chunk of SP? Oh god no that's overpowered and unreasonable... Bonus points for making it impossible to hoard the XP for when you have the SP needed. Like others have stated being 70 with level 40 skills sucks....
  15. The whole reason the cake event was so fantastic is because of the SP.... So now we're getting a fraction of the XP that we would of gotten had the cake event been better planned and absolutely no SP. stupid. EDIT : I regret my NcCoin purchases today. The money I spent today was in no way an endorsement of this terrible option.
  16. Hey man NcWest (USA) is just following orders from NcSoft (Korea). Juji is probably still waiting to hear back from the devs (Korea) on a possible modified cake event.
  17. That's good to hear. In the mean time I'm preparing for a squash invasion muhahahahaha
  18. Yeah one week of +50% XP/SP is a perfect equal replacement to 200m xp a day.....
  19. Some time ago I had a fellow who was insistent that I was botting despite me being there talking to him. He tried the drag mob thing away to get some of my DPS stuck and I just clicked manually on the game clients to get them around the corner back with the group and that was outright proof I was botting because the characters moved back... I ended up just setting next target to mobs and put taunt on the tank's macro to stop that. Granted at that point I was vulnerable to pvp hijinks but at least that would require some effort. I hadn't bothered with taunt as the tank was keeping aggro "good enough" with it's DPS focused macro. If I was to redo my group with the knowledge I have now things would be very different. When farming with ponies you don't even need buffers or a tank...
  20. IF you're browsing the web on the same computer that is running L2. Then the web site and all associated information can be scanned as it's on the same hardware. Ditto for LoL and everything else running on that hardware. Besides EULAs aren't laws and can be changed at any moment without a notice. A lot of what gets put into EULAs can't even be enforced under current laws depending on your country. Renaming is just one of many ways botters can try to get around detection. There for a while the best way around Blizzard's warden was to use a rootkit to hide your botting/cheating software and the popular rootkit to use was a modified version of Sony's DRM rootkit they used on some CDs.... You're the one who claimed a macro party was de-leveled via res scrolls...
  21. The normal characters gathering in one spot on the server wasn't really the problem. The problem was the people that were bringing 20 50 and even 100s of characters each via bot programs to try to win the weapon. I'm pretty sure that was what the NCwest people were talking about when they mentioned people trying to exploit the event. I agree with the rest. The handing out of OE weapons has gotten so ridiculous that bot parties are rolling around with +8 and higher weapons...
  22. Oh that's not true at all. xigncode3 did exactly that and so does any number of anti-cheat systems on a wide range of very popular games. The problem is there are multiple ways to hide processes and xigncode3 couldn't keep up. Also it isn't a macro party if they are using a bot. A macro party can't accept resses...
  23. A monster gives 2000 xp to the player upon it's death. Since the monster is listed in the DB to give 2000 XP then the 2000 XP awarded is 100% of the potential base XP If you add 50% to that 100% aka 150% you get 3000 XP and that's what is going on with the classic server XP rate I think it's easier to see what is going on if you convert the percentage to decimal form. Basically the percentage means over 100. So you take the percentage and divide by 100 to get the decimal version. 100% divided by 100 = 1 1 x 2000 = 2000 XP 150% divided by 100 = 1.5 1.5 x 2000 = 3000 XP The cake event was a bad idea because the stupid over enchanted weapons was motivating people to log in 100s of botted accounts each in an attempt to score a weapon. I'd rather have the XP but I'm glad at least they removed the reward so the botters won't be even better off than before... I'm already seeing clearly botted groups running around with +7 and higher weapon on 5 or more characters. it's absolutely ridiculous that botters feel that confident that they are willing to throw hundreds of millions down for a weapon on each character that they are botting 24/7.
  24. In my experience drops stop if there is a character level spread of 9 or more. When I put my newly made BD into my party when it was 9 levels lower I had no drops. Soon as it was 8 levels lower than the rest the drops restarted.
