  1. You do if you want to be able to afford the shots you're using. The spots you mentioned are <80 level areas. Those areas are fine and are properly tuned for our server. It's the >80 areas that are the problem. That's why you see people who are geared in very good S grade OEed complaining in the "fix server" thread.
  2. "Hero's weapon exchange ticket"...You basically answered your own question as the tickets aren't called "b grade timed weapon ticket"
  3. Basically the "end game" is designed for servers that are much older and have had P2W items in the store for a lot longer than our server. SO all the 8x mobs are way overpowered for what gear we have and korea doesn't care. It also helps cover up the reality that there's almost nothing to do at 85 anyway... I personally hit a wall in the low 80s because I'm not willing to spend thousands on a game developed by NcSoft.
  4. Cruma tower was changed long ago to remove drops from some of the mobs while boosting XP and making them all non aggressive. Made the third floor a nice place to level as a non bot because the botters moved to other areas to farm adena. IT should would be nice if the developers could fix the autohunt so it doesn't turn itself on or off at random. It seems to turn on and off randomly when clicking into or out of a client and it's bloody annoying to have to click multiple times just to get it to stay off...
  5. I think a major portion of the problem is that ISPs usually over subscribe for the amount of bandwidth they have. That usually means some slowdown during specific peak usage hours. Since people don't tend to be all on the internet at the same time due to jobs, school, social events and such. COVID-19 is causing more people than ever to stay home and avoid in person social contacts (ordered or voluntarily). This means more people using their internet connections to stream, game, browse the web etc. That extra load is straining the infrastructure of the internet in many areas. This is such a big problem that websites like Youtube/netflix/etc have taken measures to try to lower bandwidth usage by decreasing the default quality setting for videos. Packet loss can easily cause Lineage 2 to disconnect while having no noticeable effect on video streaming/etc. So while your internet provider might be "amazing" and "perfect" the same can't be said for all the providers between your provider and the service you're trying to access.I haven't had any issues since the one I mentioned earlier in this thread. It helps a lot that I'm physically close to the datacenter.
  6. What's kind of mind blowing to me is that a glitch is required for top end groups to kill a boss belonging to the "end game" of this game. The "balancing" in this game is so terrible that people consider it acceptable that glitches have to be employed to do game "content". In a real game ran by a real company things would be balanced so that you wouldn't need to glitch/exploit bosses in order to kill them. It's super sad that the only reason "end game" content is completed is because the game is so poorly programmed that the glitches even exist in the first place..
  7. Odd I figured the bragging rights and hero chat would be plenty of motivation for people to compete.. Unless "battle for the hero" actually means spend lots of real life money...
  8. LoL Man people have been predicting the imminent death of Lineage 2 for over 15 years now... The earliest post I've personally seen claiming L2 was going to die soon was back in 2005.
  9. Found a bit of a clue today. One machine had a client d/c like normal. A second machine had a client close on it's own but this time there was an error message "Launchres has stopped working". So the client is crashing sometimes when it disconnects?
  10. Skelth's biggest problem was that players from a specific country made it a point to PK anyone trying to level who didn't pay them. Apparently killing people and preventing them from leveling made them just quit the game. Who would of thought? Hence NCWest's policy change they made a while back. Because they saw what was happening and didn't want it repeated here. I'd be super surprised if the connection issues people are having recently aren't the result of actions made by people in that same country. How dare NCwest ban their IPs and stop them from ruining this server too.. Certainly the pay per month aspect also played a role but that just sped up the exodus. Who wants to pay $15 (whatever) a month to get ganked by ponies that are 10-50 levels above you? Any game you play that has an online component can be shut down at any time. One of the main disadvantages of the "live services" meta that some developers/publishers are trying hard to cash in on. I don't see classic being shut down for some time and even then only if the playerbase dies horribly. Essence is indeed crap.
  11. Noticed some server lag tonight and had one complete disconnection. Something near the server if not the server itself is having issues. I'm physically relatively close to the data center housing the servers.
  12. My favorite part about reading that link is how NcSoft showed it's usual forward thinking by changing item ID numbers in essence for no reason...
  13. For the love of god can we have the option to mute hero chat? 99.9999% of the time it's people bragging about their epenor and how everyone else is trash...
  14. Should get at least a buffer/healer to follow your scout around. Buy the starter pack and grind up. If you want to blow more money the high grade starter pack's "hero's weapon exchange ticket - Lv. 54 x2" is two tickets for 15 day weapons that are top b +10 with no rune ability. So that gives you 30 days with a +10 B weapon. With good weapons you can push levels faster. Cruma is decent adena for the level but difficult for a solo scout, lots of bots and Pks galore. So you really just want to get into your 60s asap for dat adena grind. The materials you buy depends on your server and time/day basically. It's ever fluctuating and keeping an eye on the market will allow you to see that.
  15. Had a magical client close a couple days ago and another today for no obvious reason at all. It's happened on three different machines and my pings are still perfectly fine. One machine is q6600 based another i5-3470 another a fx6300 system. When I manually caused a disconnection by unplugging the router none of the clients closed. So what the hell is going on here?
  16. Well my party is in the 80s and it's not worth spoiling at all. Just a waste of mana that could be used on armor crush for -pdef.
  17. See this is why I asked for dwarfs to be removed or at least a warning on creation that they are now useless. Well not entirely useless as they are still capable of doing poor DPS and vending. You're better off creating a real DPS character along with a buffer/healer on a second account. As a new player you're basically screwed as you will run out of free shots quickly and won't be able to afford shots on your own. Sadly the only way to get up in levels is to make up to 9 accounts and afk macro your own party without shots... I have a spoiler in my main party and I wish I could reroll it but I can't be bothered to invest the time required to get a single character into the 80s. Not considering the current state of the game and it's developers. Last year when public raid bosses were a thing and the game didn't have a god awful patch that ruined the UI and most elements of the game then yeah sure I would of re-rolled in that environment. As the game is now it's clear that the developers don't play it and don't care beyond the next buck.
  18. WHen I had massive packet loss I experienced what you are talking about. Sometimes it was super annoying because my buffer would d/c over and over while the other 8 accounts were fine like it was an intentional trolling.
  19. Bragging rights is plenty to fight for. The hero chat is loved by the heroes on my server at least.
  20. Your sample size is tiny. You need +50 hours of killing with tens of thousands of kills before you can get something statistically significant.
  21. A couple days ago I came home to find two clients on two different machines had outright closed. Like someone manually clicked close then okay on the clients themselves. I've had disconnection issues before including 20% packet loss rates and never did a client fully close out. The clients always just hung there with the disconnect box open. The clients are windowed mode and covered by a file explorer window that is full screen (so no random clicks to affect the clients). No one has access to my house and my dog wouldn't take kindly to anyone accessing my house. My internet is perfectly stable with no packet loss and all sub 100 MS pings to the server (I live a few hours south of the datacenter). I had actually left my machines pinging since the day the clients closed to try to see if something was going on. Today I left the house for a couple hours and when I got back one of the clients was closed. The account on that game client was one of the same accounts that had closed prior (the other account was still open and running). When I checked my pings and data there were no time outs during that time period or even large delays. Network health is as good as you can get. Anyone ever experienced anything like this? I can't find any errors or issues on the machines involved or the network itself.
  22. The problem is that lineage 2 is a tiny amount of income compared to NcSoft's mobile games. The income for ALL NcSoft's PC games is dwarfed by their mobile games. NcSoft being the greedy short sighted company it has always been is throwing their full force into the mobile market. We are at best an afterthought in the grand scheme of things. Unfortunately that afterthought is "how can we squeeze more money out of the players like we do the mobile players".... That's why I refuse to play any new NcSoft game even if they weren't the ones to develop it and are only acting as a publisher.
  23. Indeed all Juji can do is relay our concerns/problems. It's management in Korea that actually makes the decisions. We need Juji on our side as a passionate advocate. Attacking them for doing their job is not helpful. EDIT : OMG I remember reading the prima guide at a store. I didn't buy it because it cost too much
  24. It takes less than 30 minutes to get to AC if you're taking it slow as a player. A bot can probably do it fully automated in less than 20 minutes.. It's a never ending battle as the bots are banned a new wave is created and in place 30 minutes later. I just rolled through the quests on giran with some characters. While ROA was packed as usual AC wasn't too bad. Beyond AC the number of bots I witnessed dropped dramatically. I did the gorgon quest while only running into a few obvious bots. In the the past that area was packed with bots. Ant nest wasn't bad either with a mix of probably bots and definitely bots evident but not in overwhelming numbers. SO NcWest are clearly doing something of late. That something could be ban hammering bots or it could be that the botters are moving on to other games due to NcSoft's apparent intention to kill this game while milking it's players dry. Most likely a mix of the two.
