I honestly don't even know why they have this anymore. They never tell you when they change the rules, when you ask it's never a straight answer, and when you EXPECT them to abide by the rules that they have written out, often times you will receive the answer of "We are allowed to do whatever we want, and in this instance we aren't going to replace your item"

This has happened multiple times to numerous people where they have refused to abide by the rules they have posted and just simply taken an item from someone who would have never attempted the OE if they knew NC Soft wouldn't abide by their own rules.

If you are going to attempt a restoration, you better get a senior GM to tell you 1. The item is restorable 2. if it breaks, they WILL restore that item.

if they don't say that, don't even try.

I agree that they should have never allowed restoration of any kind. I also wish they'd removed the success probability % from the enchant window. Take it back to C1 days when you didn't know the odds and you either succeeded or you got crystals. No restoration, no saves, no Heavenly/Divine or Shining scrolls. Just you and the Fates.

But nowadays everything is enchantable -- and in many cases, restorable -- and it's ruined the game.

I ask a question but the answer just gave me more questions :S

None of the 2 questions were answered at all, I still don't know if my weapon can be restored if fail an enchant and I still do not know how many restoration tokens I have :S

******************************************

What I submit as question...

******************************************

- Need to know if the weapon currently being used by my character Equadym (Limited Krishna Retributer) is eligible to be restored. I want to know this in case I fail the next enchanting try.
- I also want to know how many restoration tokens do I have.

Thanks

the answer I received...

Hello.
Regarding the in-game restoration, we are able to investigate the eligibility when the inquiry with the clear intention is submitted.
Before requesting a restoration, please check whether your account and item fulfill the following requirements.
(1) Do you have enough Restoration Tokens on your Lineage II Account?
(2) Compounding/Enchantment should be failed no longer than 7 days.
(3) Was the item destroyed or crystallized due to failed enchantment? Downgraded items are not eligible for restoration.
(4) Compound/Enchant Fail Restorations are limited to 1 item per category per 6-month period.
[Note] For more detailed information, please refer to the link below.
https://us-support.ncsoft.com/faq/lin2ncw?faqNo=21
Lastly, the restored item will no longer be eligible for any kind of restorations.
Kindly let us know if you would like us to proceed with the restoration. Once you submit the ticket, we will thoroughly investigate the requested item.
Regards.
NCSoft Support Team.

i have the same issue. I am fairly certain for 3 things after my interaction with the support.

a) There are language barriers with those ppl. The use of google translate is obvious as their replies are full of syntax errors, and most of their "answers" are not addressing the questions posted.

b) they are usure of what exactly is asked of them, probably reading/following a script of some sort, leading them to loops what provide neither answers nor solutions to any problems

c) they have not read the policy, as most of their answers lead to "please read the policy". Meanwhile, in my case, the policy is crystal clear on what i ask, and i have to quote parts of it back to them. Not that it has any effect, leads anywhere or progresses to a solution to any problem whatsoever

@GM_EVA @Wissp communicate to the decision-making people the disaster they created by constructing this "support" and make a plan to DO BETTER.

OH! also they do not see to identify themselves as GMwhatever, just NC support team.

Thank god for this change, this restoration system service was the dumbest thing they've ever provided.
The system is for sure not automated so each time someone asks "is this item eligible for restore?" it puts a lot of work on the support, so they've just stopped giving that part of the service, and thank god for that as it will prevent the abuse we've been seeing with the restoration system

I'm going to say something that many don't like to hear it.

The restoration system was introduced to help people from accidental failures.

People, being greedy and all, took this opportunity and abused it to the point they had to constantly regulate how much and how many restorations they can do.

And every single time, greed overcame the need and people found new ways to abuse it all over again.

This resulted in people loosing items, as they didn't catch on with the change of rules every time.

Until, well well well, GREED AGAIN, started asking nonsense questions like spoiled brats just before they do something naughty... "Hey dad? if i broke my sister's bike in half, will you be mad? -No child, as long as it is an accident.. *proceeds and breaks it* - hehe, dad i broke it, by accident, sorry. -ok son, here is a new one.

Same, idiotic in my opinion, question here. "Hey, if i enchant this and i fail, will you give it back to me?"

This was a good system to help us recover items that in any other case and year of L2 they wouldn't even discuss with us about restorations if you failed a

draconic bow +15--> +16 for example back in the day.  And we killed it.

So, back to hard pills to swallow, I simply don't understand the frustration of some players that support denies to inform about restorations now...

Exactly this!
The AUDACITY people have to complain about the simple fact that they just wont inform us BEFOREHAND anymore that they will 100% guaranteed restore an item you fail to enchant, is insane!

can you explain to the rest of us? some1 accidentally opened the inventory, accidentally clicked on a scroll, accidentally clicked an item and got crystals? what, in your poinion, was the use of such a system to begin with?

You MUST be new to this enchanting game or never enchanted anything with the risk of failure.

Accidental enchant can take place when you have like 10 items and instead of clicking one you want, you click the next one.

Quite few years ago, there wasn't windows for enchanting and and prompts like "HEY ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT THIS?!?" messages.

This worked plain and simple as picking up the scroll and throwing it on top of the item you wanted to enchant.

Accidental enchant? picking up the wrong scroll among blessed, normal or giants, heavenly, etc.

Accidental enchant? playing with the enchanting button and getting a lag spike or dc ed or w/e other reason.

Another accident? Deleting items my mistake, crystalising item by mistake and list goes on and on.

But you focus on the enchant fail, not any other types of item loss, which TRUST me there were a lot!

And the most common accidental enchant you ask?

-Hey, i have spend 10grand on the game and i broke my weapon at +30 while me not feeling good about it. Can you kindly give it back so i continue to spend another 10 grand?

-Sure boi, here you go...

I hope so the you and the rest of you can understand the it was for these types of item loss that the restoration system was introduced, and not for whiny people wanting to get on top via the safe way.

Enchanting is a gamble and it should be treated as such. I wish the restoration only was for item loss and not enchantment failure, and let them complain and cry about it.

long story short: l2 is gambling & casino, not a game

L2 is a game.

If you throw in money, more than monthly packs (prestige and/or destiny) which can be named "subscription" for purposes of ease, any extra money you feed into this game,  and expect gains is indeed considered gambling, thus the term Casino is correct.
I say the term, as in casinos, you have specific chances to win.

Here, the chances haven been concealed for so long, that now, we don't even believe them being what they say they are.
