It really depends on type of person you are. Some people love melee characters. No matter how fast or slow the grind, no matter how "elite" or not, that's all they want to play. Some people like mages, summoners, tanks for same reason. Never play a class that you don't like. I don't care how well they farm. If you do, you will get bored quickly. You won't care to invest the time or adena necessary to properly build the character. And you will hate it when your clan needs you to stick to only that character during critical situations, when in your heart you'd rather be playing some other class.
  2. Devil's advocate: Everyone has a justification for PK. For example, you state "my spot". But really those mobs, unless you've already attacked them, are fair game for anyone. Courtesy isn't what makes people not hunt there. It's PVP that makes them not hunt there. Either because they see it as a waste of time, or because they don't want to get on anyone's hit list. The decision to PVP isn't a foregone conclusion. Neither is the decision to risk going Red. Let's keep everything in perspective and leave penalties as they are for choices made. After all, no one holds a gun to your head and forces you to PVP or go Red, even to teach the rude & simple-minded a lesson. You have other options, even though they may not be to your immediate liking. You don't have to PK. In most cases, if you kill all the mobs faster than they do, they will eventually leave.
  3. If there is an easier way to do something...and you can already use that easier process on other forms of augment or enchant...why not? If it improves the game, I'm all for it. As someone who has tried to augment well over 300 life stones in one sitting, I can tell you it makes a difference.
  4. I'd see your point, except the people hunting around me also have manner on. If everyone has manner on, then the minute the system selects that next target for you should automatically force the other characters to roll over to a different target, whether that's a melee or ranged character. But it doesn't. Not all of the time. I've seen my character kill not just the next target, but the third, fourth, sixth, whatever target that had already been engaged by another player. You can test this for yourself. Go to an isolated hunting ground with 2-3 of your alts, all out of party. Make one of them an archer, but only use single target skills -- no AOE. Put each character in Manner Mode On status then let them hunt. You will definitely see your characters hitting the same mob quite often, even though they're not supposed to, if Manner Mode is working.
  5. They responded to me within 24 hours, give or take. I guess it just depends on what you asked them. Also, did you submit ticket only through their online site, or did you email them? I always email support.
  6. Actually, "manner on" is broken. I've seen it a number of times with some of my characters. You can still hit and kill someone else's mob with "manners" engaged on your macro. It doesn't work 100%,
  7. I received an email the other day. They are supposed to fix this soon. Good luck on figuring out what "soon" means. I give up.
  8. @Hime @Juji I'd be happy just getting Red Libra at this point. Not late summer, or end of year, but like, this week! Roll it out on Wednesday. But yeah, short of that, what is the hold up on the Weapon Modify scrolls? We never got an answer as to why it can't work now. I still see some weapons that have their modified skins in place, so it can't be as bad as Devs are saying. What gives?
  9. The augments appear on your window Skills>Passive>Item Skill section. You should see a replica of whatever life stone you used there. Hover cursor over it and it will show you the bonus effect in place.
  10. Yes, this is what I do as well. Still it should work like cloak augments, where you don't have to remove the augment, instead you keep cycling through the attempts in the same window until you either use up all of your stones, or you get the augment that you want.
  11. He's not the only one. I got a greater garnet. Also used one of the gems that I got to make a Ruby 5. One of my clanmates got Blessed Antharas, another Blessed Valakas, and another an Epic Talisman. Can't say how many boxes they opened, but I did around 30 so far. Sorry for your luck, but I would say keep trying. Lots of ppl are getting good prizes.
  12. Sadly, there really is only one way to make lots of adena in this game quickly. The Devs aren't even trying to hide it anymore. Every place where there were decent adena drops have been nerfed to hell. With one hand they take away player's ability to earn income by hunting. With the other hand, they keep offering different "events" that require you to reach for your Visa/Amex. They encourage you to buy from them and sell to other players. That's the masterplan. Yes, it's as pathetic as it sounds.
  13. Depends on your server and demand. The prices can be anywhere from 60B - 130B or more, if people want it badly enough. I'd shout for a couple of days, "WTS Tanz 5" and take offers for it. You can then figure out how much you want to try and sell it for, or possible trade value for it. Good luck.
  14. Yes, possibly. But there are caveats and conditions: 1. The weapon/item cannot have been restored previously by you or ANYONE ELSE. If you buy an OE weapon from AH or from player shop, automatically assume it's been restored. NCSoft Support will not tell you in advance if a weapon has been previously restored. 2. You need to have tokens available. As mentioned earlier, you get 2 restoration tokens every 6 months, which apply to basically anything that the GMs can restore for you, whether that's a weapon, or something like a 30 day talisman/rune that you opened by mistake. 3. You have to notify NCSupport right away. Don't delay, because they have a time period limitation that they enforce. If you wait too long to submit a ticket, they won't restore it. 4. Account must be in good standing. Obviously. 5. The biggest one, which some people seem to ignore for some reason: GMs reserve the right to refuse service. You can do everything right per policy, but the GMs can always say, "No." They carefully review all requests, but they don't have to provide detailed reasons as to why they are refusing service. This covers them in the event of ongoing actions needed to obviate abuse or ensure fair gameplay. Good luck if you decide to enchant something. I recommend, though, that you don't waste a token on a low level enchant. Wait until you're in the +24 range at least. Make it count. Edit: Forgot one. 6. If you break your weapon, hold onto the R crystals. The GMs will need those before they restore the weapon.
  15. You're right. Nothing else going on this week. It wouldn't have been perfect to have it now. But Juji already said we won't get it for several months.
  16. Blamed the devs and the GMs overseeing the rollout, which is where blame properly belongs. But I understand, shills and sycophants feel a need to test their +16 knee pads and swallow everything NCWest -- so do your thing.
  17. We can go in circles all day. Bottom line: It didn't get changed before I had already taken the awards in game. I'm sure I wasn't the only one. Info may have been distributed here, but not in-game to increase visibility. So yes, that counts as a rollout fail. Accept it, move on. I already have.
  18. Seriously, no. Look around this forum and you see nothing but threads about stuff that was supposed to be fixed that hasn't been, or that isn't working even after "fix." I never take them at their word when it comes to fixes and patches. Maybe in year one or two, but definitely not in year 16. We both know better.
  19. The "wrong calendar" indicates there were at least two attendance schedules. For me there were 3. I completed everything but the last two spots on the first calendar. Then they mistakenly loaded the second calendar, which had different awards. That's how I got Joon Charm agathion, which was from the "wrong calendar". It should have been 30 day Bloody rune as the final award. When they "fixed" it the calendar was reloaded, this time with supposedly correct awards. But I started at 1 again. Don't recall exact date, but I didn't get all the way to the end on the new attendance schedule. Fail on my part? Maybe. But doubtful.
  20. Not talking about first attendance calendar. Talking about second attendance calendar, which was not up for full duration.
  21. Down goes Chronos. I think too many top levels in world chat did it.
  22. Terrible deployment of attendance I've ever seen. It started with the wrong calendar, then ended before anyone really had a chance to check all of the boxes on the calendar.
  23. Funny, considering how powerful summoners used to be. I think the OP doesn't realize that this is what "balance" looks like. No fun, eh?
  24. There will probably be another artifact event soon, since the 3rd book is out and there are supposed to be new artifact stones to fill the slots. When we'll get it is anyone's guess. I wouldn't pay for the stones now, though. Everything is grossly overpriced.
  25. I'm confused. What event is this again? I haven't seen anniversary box drop in 4 days of hunting in area where they're supposed to drop. That's when I'm not dodging higher levels who have nothing to do but PK players that are trying to grind for the boxes and XP. The side game doesn't give any rewards that I've seen, other than pots and practically useless anniversary coins. That's if you have patience to put up with the limitation on dice and rolls per day. I keep hearing that other regions got a full Anniversary event, but NCWest scaled it way back for the US. Is this true? Is that the event that you're talking about...you know, the one we didn't really get?
