patch note Orfen in server eu :)

Two relavant things there.

Dark red mobs are giving xp/sp/drops again. That means the pve damage penality based on PC x Mob level difference is finally gone?

And the area effect of multiple arrow has been increased. Have they finally reverted back to hit targets that are above/bellow your Z height?

And I know thats for Orfen update and not the one we getting now.

its the same update, they just rename it to look different :) Also yulls/dagger skill mastery was neferted from 1000% to 400%...

Well.. I saw in l2 korea power wiki that it was redured to 100% with new added affects.. 400% is good enought, if they also add the new effects

In the original Korean patch note it says '멀티플 애로우'의 스킬 이펙트를 적용 범위에 맞춰 더 넓게 개선하였습니다/"There has been an improvement where the skill effect of 'Multiple Arrow' has been widened to fit the area [where the arrows hit]":
http://lineage2.plaync.com/board/update/view?articleId=631501&page=2

The Anglo-Korean term 이펙트/"effect" means in these cases the optical effect, the various arrows flying apart. It's just eye candy, not an improvement in the area of effect of the skill itself :)

Oh well.. since GoD they changed this effect both for the new(at the time) Multiple Arrow and existing 3rd class Multiple Shot.

If the enemys around your target are not on same height as you, only your target gets hit. And as most of the game area is not flat, it makes this aoe skill a single target skill most of the time.

I belive the area of Multiple Shot was like a 3D cone going out of your bow, and they made it a 2D flag triagle that only hits things the same height as you.

For some things they try to be realistic, while for other they try to go the other way around. Consistency right? They give you Feohs with magic, but bows have to follow real life mechanics.

Remember archer damage nerf base on target distance? Up to 30% nerf on melee range? Glad they removed that shit.

Old phrophets Counter Critical critical damage effect was not applied to bows. When Drum Melody came the effect was applied to bows, but they nerfed bow critical damage by half in Lindvior Update in a ninja manner.

Dont you love those little f's?

Any insight on the dark red mobs that now give rewards again? There is no logic on making it as before if the pve damage nerf still around. Its strong enought if your 2 lvls lower.. imagine 11.

The main use for that is powerleveling. You are not supposed to kill the red monsters yourself, but get pulled up by a higher-level character, which in the Asian territories makes game time points tick down for two accounts aka doubles NCsoft's revenue :D

Of course there is still the party level difference penalty. In Korea this was waived for an event in March/April, i.e. a lvl 105 player could powerlevel a freshly Awakened player:

I could well imagine that NCWest might run something similar to boost people into the lvl 110+ ranges you will need for Fafurion:

Of course they will be selling Vitality Potions etc. at a discount. Probably not so much of a discount xD

If you are perplexed as to the basis of such a post, you have taken the opportunity to post a new chapter; yet, have not had the courtesy to help your current (dwindling) player base and would-be "Spenders" with any explanation as to how the game would improve for them with respect to the general populace and their ability to play effectively relative to the imbalanced and current player gap.

I'm not sure how this would not be considered an imperative company objective to have well-informed clients - this is not a rhetorical sentence or post. @Neutron

patch note Orfen in server eu :)

This week our QA team is working to verify all the updates and changes for Etina's Fate in order to finish compiling the official patch notes. We'll share them as soon as we have all the updates from our HQ in South Korea documented and confirmed. It'll likely be toward the end of next week. Design information and game builds tend to come in pretty hot, which is why we typically announce upcoming updates just a few weeks in advance. Once we get the required data from HQ, a lot of work still needs to be done in a short amount of time on our end to prep and release these major updates.

We know players want the patch notes ASAP and we want to provide them. Looking at the Orfen update notes from Innova's EU game version is at least helpful to get a feel for what's in the upcoming Etina's Fate update over here, but not all of the content or changes will necessarily be the same in our version. Don't take their notes as gospel. :)

We'll provide our official notes soon!

You didn't really reply to HiccUps' point, which is a legitimate one:
"... you have taken the opportunity to post a new chapter; yet, have not had the courtesy to help your current (dwindling) player base and would-be "Spenders" with any explanation as to how the game would improve for them with respect to the general populace and their ability to play effectively relative to the imbalanced and current player gap."

An appropriate answer would have for example been:
Like all Korean grind games, Lineage 2 was developed and designed for a very specific cultural context, namely the Asian internet cafe culture. You will find the details on page 30ff of the printed text here:
https://scholarworks.gsu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1091&context=communication_theses
This does not only concern the game play - boys and girls in a restrictive Confucian society having an opportunity to be physically together in a socially accepted way, the longer the better - but above all the business model: NCsoft granting exp and drop bonuses when playing from an internet cafe, luring players into those places, which in turn motivates the owners to install L2 on their computers, which provides more opportunities for potential players to see the game in action and play themselves ...

With the advent of social networks and later the smartphone, the internet cafe culture came to an end, and with it NCsoft's business model. The only alternative way to generate a sizeable revenue is the pay-to-win principle, cooperation being replaced by competition (e.g. players soloing raid bosses and party hunting grounds), making maximum use of human weaknesses, especially the hope to obtain assets through gambling, i.e. without working for them. This business model is targeted at a relatively small part of mankind - those people who are dumb enough to spend large amounts of money on objectively worthless pixels. As you can see from the upcoming updates ("Etina's End" and "Fafurion"), all new content is designed for end game players. New players are not wanted here.

If this makes you unhappy, all you have to do is seek political asylum in South Korea (just tell them that Trumpists are harassing you). As soon as you have a Korean Resident Registration Number, you can play on our new PvP server - Bloody - which is specifically designed to make the player gap as small as possible, everybody having the chance to build an end-game character in the time it takes to enter a Credit Card number and with just a few hundred dollars at most:
http://lineage2.plaync.com/events/2018/180711_fafurion/bloody

L2 Life in a Nutshell - The very real problem is that you haven't taken the time to answer what would be considered EASY and IMPORTANT to those who keep your doors open.

1. Some have played this game (or at least started) long before your arrival; hence, your Johnny-come-lately attitude is taken by the majority of CLIENTS (existing or presently Lost or in Limbo) as pretentious as it is presumptuous. Optics, if not facts, would back this up relative to your previous statements of "who are you to deserve an answer" etc . Specifically, we would be considered clients / paying customers / aka. what you need to keep your doors open if one actually looked past a nose.

2. 'Presumptuous' given your attitude is premised on your assumption that clients will remain eternally stupid as a mass group - something the current dwindling player base would contradict.

3. The vast majority over the years were willing to put in a few $s to keep up with updates and/or improve their toon(s) whether it be PvP or PvE.

4. This money was put in via a monthly subscription (i.e. when drops existed and farming for mats was actually done by active players), or later via a L2 store (no comment as to your 'value' of items at this time).

5. This was done with the understanding that those in a stewardship position (i.e. this would be YOU), would in fact behave in a reasonable manner given your company/business actually required 'CLIENTS'.

6. The return and/or the possibility of new people (imagine the concept) would logically be premised on the ability to hunt and participate in ALL FACETS of gameplay at a level higher than hunting Elpies.

7. Returning players came back, spent ridiculous am'ts (raises hand unfortunately) to play a game only to find out that YOU DO NOT OFFER ANY BALANCE AND/OR ABILITY to be competitive. That YOU HAVE  INTRODUCED ITEMS that require 100k toons (or in some cases, removed items thus protecting 100k toons) and that the overwhelming majority of the server are there to provide 1-shot status for a cpl 100k toons.

8. If you go with status quo, then all but a Cpl 100k toons will leave or continue to go..... ultimately leaving your 100k toons with no-one to 1-shot at which point they will stop their $ input. NOBODY cares about your next update because you are currently toxic with no EXPLANATION/FUTURE given to current clients, or those on the fence (raises hand) who have stopped contributing to the current FUTILE framework until you can show some corporate/governance responsibility.

9. Those who have come back, convinced friends (again raises hands) after having spent misleading $s into the game then ASK QUESTIONS trying to find out what on earth you are doing to not only justify what $ they just put in, but to find out where this mouse-wheel leads to.

10. You sit back, temp-ban, ignore, respond blaming PAYING CUSTOMERS of improper behavior when in reality, it all centers on your own inadequate, COMPLICIT behavior to continuously MISLEAD customers.

So again, ppl like me are the PROBLEM - maybe you need to please re-read number 1 above.

You want the game to continue - open up your L2 store to REAL ITEMS at a level commensurate to what would be considered equal to a monthly subscription for the industry. You want 10k players back - offer all top-level gear at 15 dollars per item.....the current non-existent whale population will stay because 'they like the game advertisement', and if they go, you replace them with 10k customers as WORD OF MOUTH will exponentially increase your player base.

STAUS QUO = TOTAL DEMISE OF THE GAME (factual re. current exodus) V. POSSIBILITY OF MAKING MORE MONEY AND PROVIDING VALUE TO AN AWAKENED CLIENT BASE.

Ball is in your court to respond. Why should people play your game? What are you doing to both balance a broken framework and totally reduce the player gap in a way that would be conducive and promote a 10k player base?

Maybe it's time to stop treating those like me as the problem and start looking at us as being your target market-  aka. willing to spend some $ but looking for some basic questions to justify time and $. Your current stance is optically ignorant and likened to that of sticking your head in the sand while everyone goes. Maybe treat overall customer base with respect, answer questions, and turn me/us into the best game proponents you could ask for....given your current path is failing horribly. :(

Ok,

Lets assume the gms are on the up and up...

Please stop laughing...

Imagine thier problems, they have X amount of players, and are told the game must make X amount of money or they loose a server...

Obviously, they just lost a server.. and spun media to it being a great thing to combine servers...

Now they have new quota, like cops write tickets.. they dont really care what they can catch you on, nor if you end up paying at court or not.. they did thier job, and might not have one if the city cuts resources and funding...

So Gms just doing thier jobs, events are calculated that ncsoft needs X amount, X amount of players expected to gamble on event = quota... even if ncsoft has to make the chane .04%

Gms can do nothing, but back thier companies descision... they may not even agree with what ncsoft is doing... but they cant tell us that..

All we can do is wait and see, and wonder if at any point someone will be a whistle blower and find out how we have been really fooled.

Prolly ncsoft would shut down the game, but i would bet they already have some metric they are using and already have a shutdown date...prolly in a year or so...

Im not sure why you keep asking about the gap between players, because players are completely different from one to another. The so called "gap" that most of the clueless playerrs are talking about has been created by players. Take for example someone that plays every day, 5-10 hours, and someone that plays casual, 1-2 hours @ 1-2-3 days. Thats one of the reasons creating a gap. There are several major others, ranging from age, jobs, commitment to the game, and the list can go on.

Theres always gonna be a gap, and its not controlled by anyone. If you want to be more competitive, you have 2 choices : invest more time or invest more money. Thats how it works, and crying constantly about it just shows how some people dont understand whats going on.

Some people bitching around the forums dont invest neither time or money, but they want to enjoy the high end content. Well, news flash, you're doing it wrong, and yet you complain about it. Also, antagonising staff wont get you anywhere, except the fact that NCsoft employees will respond less and less, and only if needed.

If you like the game consider a positive attitude, even if the odds are bad, cause negativity doesnt lead to results or problem solving.

To be clear and help you out a bit given your tangent and lack of understanding => The "Gap" most commonly discussed relates to the L2 framework / structure / item (both introduction & removal).

It 'does not' refer to your "putting in time & effort" rambling and for the most part putting in what the overwhelmingly majority of any game population would be considered asinine am'ts of money.

So tyvm for your simplistic analyses and at the end of the day, you do nothing to benefit the game; and, the 'gap' that exists has never been addressed by any L2 staff. With respect to what some would consider to be your rose colored glasses / Kumbaya / brown nosed approach that everything is fine (aka. please treat me well when I ask you for something) approach, most would like to get a few answers as to what FUTURE the game has after having put in the TIME, EFFORT, and copious am'ts of money and yet still have a game so imbalanced that 1 or 2 players can sway the outcome of sieges / wars / PvP on a daily basis. Players like choco/waduhek who outplay most with +10 dark, +12 dark weaps, modest jewels, cloaks etc, are still one-shot by asinine dragon weapons - i.e. the dumbest item put into the game at the exponential dmg lvl that basically wipes out all realistic PvP and leaves the server of sheep following behind a Cpl players. Sry you can't see the issue with your eyes full of wool.

I'll leave you with my last comment, and maybe it will enlighten you if you read it again given it was, after all, seeking something positive in order to become a "proponent" of the game again. Maybe if the questions were openly discussed in an adult and responsible manner when they were first asked, the dialogue and player base wouldn't be at such a low level currently. O.o

Maybe it's time to stop treating those like me as the problem and start looking at us as being your target market-  aka. willing to spend some $ but looking for some basic questions to justify time and $.
