  1. Honestly, I'd rather have 5- 7 hour GM buffs. The gold balls replenish your Vit, but it depletes so quickly and the 100% XP gain is all but imperceptible at high level. You're getting compensation, but don't expect that it is greater or equal recompense.
  2. Juji replied "late summer" a few days ago. Not July. Apparently there is an issue with the server that makes Red Libra not possible until then. He says late summer, but don't be surprise if it's sometime during the Autumn.
  3. Honestly, the cost of upgrading it is so high that I wouldn't do it. I would use that adena to buy other improvements. Or make a +19 R110. It's not that hard.
  4. Is there a way to know how long a person has been serving as CL, or how old a clan is in game? The Devs should figure out a way to celebrate that. Maybe give an original and unique appearance, or different armor/weapon glow for clan leaders based on years of service. For years 5 through 9 you get green fiery glow on armor, instead of blue or gold. For years 10 and up, you get a reddish orange fiery glow on armor. Maybe let it toggle on/off as person sees fit? Also, name should get a special signifier. And let's get emotes involved. If someone genuflects to a really old CL in town/ peace zone, even if they're from a different clan, they get a 30 minute buff of +1 all stats and 1% XP bonus. You don't have to acknowledge them, in order for them to get the buff. Edit: Now that I think about it, I probably don't qualify. My clan is old as dirt, but I switched several characters as CL over the years, even though they are all played by me.
  5. Better idea: Banhammer Scrolls. They work like this... First, ban the player and all characters on the account. Roll back any trades or other transactions completed after the incident that led to the ban. Strip their characters naked and lock personal inventory and WH so that nothing can be equipped or consumed, traded, transferred, dropped or sold. Set a 7 day timer on the seal with countdown start after ban is lifted. Any items that are still sealed by the time the 7 day clock expires disappears from inventory and cannot be restored in any fashion. Don't bother with restoration ticket, they won't save you. Next, introduce new unseal Banhammer Scroll to the L2 Store that allows them to unlock 1 "normal" item for 40,000 Ncoins before the clock runs out. Items that are aggregated like dyes, adena, most materials, spirit/soulshots, etc., are unsealed only one item at a time. For example, if you have 10 EWRs in your inventory, you have to buy 10 Banhammer Scrolls to unseal all of them. Or if you have 500 billion adena in your inventory at time of ban, you will need 500 billion Banhammer Scrolls to unlock all of that adena. "Special" items like Dragon weapons require a Special Banhammer Scroll that costs 120,000 Ncoins, completion of a one-time quest through an NPC, and approximately half the dragon claws and mats necessary to create a standard dragon weapon. Because it's a one-time quest, any subsequent bans means that a player will not be able to restore their "special" items, no matter how many Banhammer unseal scrolls they buy. Oh, by the way, that quest is timed, too. If not completed successfully in an hour, you'll have to wait until the following day to restart the quest again. Don't feel bad. The quest is meant for a full party to finish, but the quest item is totally random and doesn't always drop in the first hour, or second, or 48th hour. Ok, I'll be honest: the quest item drops at such a low rate that a person could farm the quest mobs 24/7 for a month and not get one quest item. Really, really, really, really low odds. But not impossible. Fortunately you only need 5 of them, but the quest items can't be traded and disappear if you don't complete the quest in an hour. Crazy? Ridiculous? What, are you saying that no banned player will be able to unseal all of their items before they go "POOF!"??? Of course. That's the point. Players would learn not to willingly engage in exploits the hard way. Just one time would be fatal. But if they do have the money to unseal all of their stuff, NCSoft will be made whole from all of the pricey Banhammer Scroll sales. No more problem of lost revenue. And holiday bonus for GM team would be so nice!
  6. If someone uses the exploit, can't they detect it?
  7. All of those quests provide you with the items that you need in order to complete the quest. However, with the assigning the attribute quest, it is possible to fail when applying the stones. If that happens, and you can't afford to buy another attribute stone from the Attribute Master NPC (target Yin in Aden) for 650,000, you can either hunt and save up enough adena until you can buy another attribute stone, or Abort Quest and start it all over again.
  8. This thread is about summoners. But if you want to discuss all of the other classes that "had their day", we can always start a new thread.
  9. Dumbest comment ever. They support their summons. By the way, for the record, a hybrid class by definition is any that can play more than one style. That is summoner all day every day.
  10. Technical issues with the live server appears to be a recurring theme. Do we still have receipt for the new live server? Can we send it back and get a refund???
  11. ban, ban, ban, ban Ban, Ban, Ban, Ban BAn, BAn, BAn, BAn BAN, BAN, BAN, BAN Hip hip HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. You definitely need the Tyr cloak to change your dual class. The NPC requires that and 100,000,000 adena in order to make the change. Are you sure it's not in your WH? Also sometimes people equip stuff without noticing at first glance that they equipped it. Make sure your cloak box is empty.
  13. This week would be nice, but I think they will push back to August or Sept.
  14. Been playing since C2, so I know the history already. And no, I never botted. I stopped playing my summoner during the last update. Not because it was ineffective, but out of sheer boredom. For what it's worth, I never thought that Summoners should have been considered in the same category as a pure DD. They were hybrids, so yeah, hybrids should have long stretches where they can't keep pace with archers, nukers and daggers. NCSoft's devs must be on the same page.
  15. No one exploits this game like top-geared people. No one. And do perma-bans last? I'm never sure. Just last week I talked to an old acquaintance who was supposedly perma banned. He's wealthy irl, so it didn't surprise me when he turned up on a new, stacked character. I'm all for fixing what's broken -- or what will soon be broken -- but let's be real about the chances of a good, lasting result. Low chance of that.
  16. Summoners had their time. Their day is done.
  17. Yes, it is boring. They removed pretty much all the content rich fun quests and real PVP is not possible at every level, so ... twiddling thumbs is best we can do.
  18. Except the exalted quest doesn't give you every jewel, just the basics. Maybe they'll make it possible to trade jewels. Or just buy them with adena. But you're right, either way the price won't cheap, which is the problem.
  19. You have two choices. You either make an ISS, or you go broke buying pots from L2store and/or other players. There is a small possibility that you might meet someone who plays ISS as their main that you can duo with, but it's really, really small.
  20. Seriously, gemstone powder should be sold in shops. A stage 3 jewel shouldn't cost 7B adena, nor should a stage 4 cost 28-30B adena. The "free market" doesn't really exist in this game. People raise prices to obscene amounts just because they can. They need to impose better controls, or start selling these key items via NPC, whether that's the lux shop, grocer or mammon.
  21. I miss the original concept of Alligator Island. You'd port there and see 10,000+ mobs all over the place. They could kill you, even with top gear, especially if someone directed a train of mobs directly at you. And there was always some asshat doing that. But I miss it. I miss the old Dragon Valley. You'd port into the middle of someone PVPing. At least that always seemed to be the case whenever I went there. But Antharas' cave entrance was a short jaunt. I miss Outlaw Forest. It's the only place where I got whole drops. I still have the Samurai Longsword that I got as a full drop many years ago. It's not just a keepsake, but a good luck charm. I miss the Fields of Massacre and the rush of being a Spellhowler mowing down Dooms, body to mind and corpse life drain keeping my mana bar replenished, the crackle of bsps and my fiery red glowing Homu warning enemies and PKers alike to keep their distance.
  22. This is all you had to say. Didn't need a damn PK Manifesto ffs.
  23. It would be great to change drop amount back to the "mistake" levels. For weeks/months other guys benefited from it. They took the money and ran. They already screwed the economy and prices still haven't dropped for 99% of stuff, even though the adena drop rates were "fixed" over a month ago now. This just confirms that the talking point from whoever complained about the drop amount was dumb. Sorry, no other way to put it. Prices are sky high, because everyone overcharges, not because there were a few people with more adena than others. That will always be the case. But now the rest of us no longer have a way to catch up. As for PVP, to me that was not an issue. Yes, some people PVP there. But for most part, if you only have an hour to make as much adena as possible, you aren't going to waste too much time PVP. Find a spot, start killing mobs. Also, I never go AFK, The adena boost skill is random, so you have to be at your keyboard, if you want to use your skills that help how fast you kill. No amount of AFK macro will do that better than live person.
